We were able to get a last minute deal through RCI for Brigantine Quarters due to the threat of Hurricane Isaac - and Isaac did not come anywhere near Hilton Head! Our weather was not perfectly sunshiny but since we play golf, we did not need the sunshine. Just no rain and for five out of seven days, that was the case. ||||BQ is located in Shipyard Plantation near the middle of the island. It's a block and a half walk to the beach and on a very good part of the beach since it is not really crowded there. If you need to drive to the beach, it is a little farther to the public parking area and the beach is more crowded there. ||||Brigantine has two nice swimming pools and two tennis courts, ample parking and a well-equipped unit. It was very clean and spacious - actually it had the largest kitchen I have ever seen in a unit of this type. Our two bedroom, two bath unit had the usual amenities, but lacked a quality tv in the master bedroom. Surprisingly the second bedroom had a flat screen tv, so I guess they are in the process of replacing the tv's. (The living room had a very good flat screen tv also.) ||||One thing missing were celing fans in the bedrooms - a must in the South! So we turned the air conditioning way down and were comfortable, but felt guilty about wasting energy. We also were disappointed that they do not have hot tubs like most of the other resorts. ||||As usual, we enjoyed the beach, biking and great golf - and the wide variety pf restaurants that HH offers. A fun time...
Read moreWe stayed in a upper level condo. Stairs were somewhat difficult for my 81 year old father. Plenty of room for the three of us. 2 BD, 2 BA with large living room and dining room. Starter kit was plentiful the entire week. Kitchen inventory was huge! Comfy big and enormous master bath with too much space. Very peaceful South Carolina setting surrounded by pine trees. Gas grills, two pools, many gliders/swings for adults, two pools, and picnic tables. Watched the golfers walk by looking for lost balls. Saw alligators on the course too. Call for fee bike rentals. Short walk out the private gate and down the road to the beach. Within walking distance to shopping and dining at Coligny Plaza. Could have asked for a better location. Have to check in a couple blocks away from resort at a management company, but we were in and out unlike waiting at some other time share locations. Very close to everything you could possibly need. Don't forget to buy fresh fish or shrimp before heading...
Read moreBrigantine Quarters sits at the "end of the road" in Shipyard Plantation, surrounded by quiet lagoons and moss-covered trees. Our condo was spacious, very well supplied and with an idyllic view of calm waters and tropical wildlife. We found it a wonderful refuge in which to enjoy a restful vacation. It features 2 pools, a tennis court and children's play area, It is also very conveniently located near the Coligny Beach recreation and shopping area. However, there are at least 6-7 steps into every 1st floor condo, so it is not wheelchair accessible or easily entered for the mobility impaired. Our only complaint was that there was a considerable hump in the middle of the mattress that made the bed less...
