Frosty Frog Cafe — Restaurant in Hilton Head Island

Will start by saying I came here twice during my stay in Hilton Head. My friend has came here for 16+ years of his life and was excited to take us here. He hyped up the Frosty’s mixers they have so we went to get some. The minute we sat down at the bar we were greeted very passive aggressively, I believe the bartender assumed we were underage and didn’t want to deal with people trying to scam a fake ID. Next thing we know an older man is coming over and again being very passive aggressive with us. He says “let’s start with IDs” so we all pull out our IDs (22 and 21 year olds by the way). He clears one of our friends, and questions the remainder of us. He looks at our IDs and says the picture on the back looks blurry. Ohio IDs are all made like that, we all went to the same BMV. Still being very passive aggressive he asks us to pull out our Apple ID’s to check the birthday that is assigned to our Apple Accounts. My friend’s apple account had his father’s birthday assigned to it because his dad set up his apple ID for him. And very rudely he says “1969 dude really come on?” I’m 22 years old, very technologically fluent, and have never ever touched my apple ID birthday. Didn’t even know it was a thing. That same friend takes out a passport card that he has used to exit the country, and shows it to the man, in which he rolls his eyes and says “really man”. From night one I learned that they immediately decided we were probably not 21, and use a changeable Apple ID birthday to backup the birthday on your ID, and won’t take another form of GOVERNMENT ISSUED ID.

Night two: Went and sat at a table, not planing to order drinks, just food and watch an NBA playoff game. We sat at a table for 30 minutes and watched our presumed waitress walk by many times. We even tried to get her attention as she walked by and she would just walk past. We ended up getting up and walking out, returning the menus and silverware to the hostess.

Would not recommend with the experiences I’ve had. Horrible horrible customer service. Not sure why I had that experience, my friend really loved this...

My partner and I come to Hilton head every year for our anniversary and absolutely adore frosty frog. We have multiple Tshirts, Christmas ornaments, and other memorabilia from froty's since it holds such a special place in our heart. This year was our 9 year anniversary and went to frosty's multiple times.. unfortunately having a really poor experience each time. I've never minded a tipsy or drunk bartender - but these bartenders were wasted... our checks were butchered, we forgotten about, and it was just cringe dealing with someone completely blitzed. The one screamed at my partner, turning our faces bright red.. the pen given to us to sign our check wasn't working and when asking for a new one, the bartender took it from our hands, slammed the receipt down on a menu, dramatically scribbled all over to show okay in fact it does have some ink in it, and yelled "PUSH HARDER!!" It was really embarrassing and resulted in multiple people staring... I guess we were in the wrong and probably were a little annoying in that moment considering it did work, but it was such an over reaction that we didn't deserve and really effected the rest of our night. They made fun of a lot of people coming up to the bar - particularly women.. for example, one would come up and say "hey could I please have this drink" and the bartender would be like, "OhhhHH WoUld yoU liKE thAT????" Really obnoxiously... like these people are just on vacation and want to enjoy some delicious frostys. They don't need mocked and belittled. I know bartending is TOUGH and I'm sure gets tiring dealing with people all day long... but this was so blatantly rude customer service, I was extremely uncomfortable. This really was our first bad experience -- unsure if it's under new management or just a fluke, but hopefully next year will be better. I know this place will forever be a HH classic - it really is typically awesome and we will def be back! Just might have to adjust our expectations a little...

We came here on 05/22/2022 around 2 pm. First of all I would like to say that our server Digi was great and didn't have an issue with him whatsoever. We walk in and get seated (girlfriend and I). As we get seated we get some people that literally turn their whole body just to see us, but we didn't think much of it because it does happen since we are an interracial couple, and this was not the restaurant fault. We order drinks and food and everything was great because our server was great. As soon as our appetizers came out, the food runner literally slammed the Calamari on our table and literally walked off. We thought it was very rude but we let it go because we thought she could of been busy. As we are eating our appetizers, that same runner kept on bring food to the table around us and being completely nice to them and every time she passed by us she gave us the dirtiest look! One time she passed she literally couldn't take her eyes of us that she literally looked like she was about to snap her neck. Once that happened, we signaled our server down. Told him to cancel our main meals because of what happened. He said that he couldn't do that because it would of came off his check. We felt bad for him so we told him that it was fine and we'll take it to go. As he was going to walk off thu runner comes with our food, the server tells her that it's too late already and literally she peels her eyes and gives us another dirty look and walks off. Our waiter packed our food, we paid for the whole meal, and we left. Literally threw the food away because I didn't feel comfortable eating food that was handed by a...
