Shell Shop — Local services in Hilton Head Island

I have never seen someone mad to sell something. The older woman who runs the place is very rude. I bought a wind-chime and she got mad that I took it down and said “There’s a very large sign saying don’t take them down!!” in a very angry tone. There, in fact, is not a sign. She seemed very annoyed to be selling us something, no thank you or any hint of politeness. This is not an isolated experience. A friend of mine bought something from the same store and woman and said she was also very rude to her. Other reviews of Shell Shop say so as well.

The trinkets are nice and all, good old fashioned Hilton Head tourist items in their overpriced, gaudy glory. Shop is very claustrophobic and cramped. Overall, it was not a good experience. Beware, fellow travelers. Beware...

incredibly rude lady behind the counter. my boyfriend and i stopped in just to look around and we browsed the shop for about 10 minutes. we were looking at their rings right by the counter and my boyfriend picked one up (it was a relatively girly ring, sea glass and whatnot) and the lady who was restocking the rings looked at him with disgust and said to his face that it wouldn’t look good on him. we both just laughed awkwardly out of shock, but it was insanely uncomfortable and unprompted of her to say that. very odd of someone who works at a shop like this to actively push customers away with this attitude. my boyfriend actually wanted to buy something but we just left because she completely...

Cute little place , I mean little , not much room 2 move around in here cuz there’s so much stuff . This is r 2 nd time here . We really like it , they have a lot of cute things , shells , Knick Knacks . They r reasonably priced also. They have a lot of nice sea shells & a lot of big shells . Worth checking out . I got a nice medium sized sea shell box 4 $ 15.99 I was very happy with it I thought that was reasonable . Cuz there’s a lot of work that went into it. It’s posted in the pics . If ur in the area & looking 4 some cute & reasonable prices souvenirs. I would highly recommend u check out this cute little shop . We will definitely be back again when we come 4...
