Sands Village at Forest Beach — Hotel in Hilton Head Island

We stayed on a unit in bldg A on the 3rd floor. Unit: Clean enough. No smart TV so had to settle for commercial TV. Could not set up HDMI or Chromecast on the TV in the LV. The ports just would not work. But the cable box worked. Go figure.

The light above the stove and cooktop didn't work so cooked in semi darkness at night.

Bathtub bath plug didn't work so young children had to take a shower.

Only one bedroom lamp worked, the other one flickered on and off and finally quit.

Giant clock on wall didn't work. Guess it was a decoration.

There were 2 Beach chairs available on the balcony. Adequate storage. 3rd story walkup, no elevator.

Facility: No bike racks. Strange being such a beach bike place. Adequate parking. No sign of maintenance. There was trash and litter that never got picked up then at some point a Piggly Wiggly grocery cart was left at the bottom of the stairs and gave the air of a homeless residential hotel/apartment. If not for the location this complex could become a refuge for people on the verge of homelessness.

There are long term residents here. They might be owners or rentals. In any case unless the trash and litter are addressed it's looking pretty low class.

Pool is clean and adequate.

Location: 10 minute walk from the beach. Walking distance to shops and food. Location is what is keeping this...

I stayed in room 2-C in building A and the only redeemable factor was how close it is to the beach. All of the beds, furniture, chairs etc were completely for show and were the most uncomfortable objects you could try to relax on. This room was literally just that, a room, and for that purpose it was half worth it. I would much rather stay farther away from the beach and be able to sleep at night. I'm sure this is just vindictive of the room I stayed in as it was an airbnb, but I have no other way of reviewing it. The Sands Village at Forest Beach should talk to old buddy who owns it so people don't view it as a terrible...

We just bought and remodeled a villa here. We love Sands Village due to it's proximity to the beach. A TRUE 5 minute walk. Across the street from Coligny Plaza.
