Let me start with I have been vacationing in Hilton Head Island for 26 years this is my first time staying at Seacrest we had booked somewhere else but our booking agency moved us to this one because the pool was closed at the other Resort I have gotten nothing but difficult situations here not even to bring up that everything is broken in this building you can literally walk upstairs without putting any code in the keypad the door just opens because the latch is broken the pool has a keypad on it as well which is broken you can't even put in a code and the door is locked you have to reach your hand over the fence and put the code in on the other keypad on the other side of the fence to leave the pool the pool bar is about the only thing that they actually care about they use carts back and forth back and forth and by carts I mean shopping carts they're very loud the security guards talk to you anyway they want to they're very rude currently they're doing construction here and told us that we had to move our bikes signs for where bikes go are nowhere in the parking garage our bikes have been parked for over a week and they decide today to put a notice on them saying that they're going to remove them which are our personal property they are not rented bikes from down here which means they would have to damage our personal property by cutting our locks when it is stated nowhere where they go there are bike racks but they do not allow you to bring any of your Beach paraphernalia such as beach chairs and wagons they don't allow you to put them anywhere so people are locking them to their bike racks which then leaves no room for anyone else to put their bikes on the racks so the manager yells at me shows me where all these empty racks are but of course they're empty right now because it's the middle of the day when we're all coming back at the end of the day they're all filled up they even fussed at us for not having a place to park our truck because it will not fit into the garage and all the parking they have outside of the garage is for their pool bar parking and none of them are being used we literally did not have a place to park our truck I was yelled at the first day I showed up and now I'm being yelled at again a few days before we leave they leave notices on everything there's absolutely no understanding from Human to Human it's like the people that work here are too scared to disobey any rules that they become incredibly anal rude and make your stay horrible and apparently it's all due to RCI rentals because they manage all of the security guards and Personnel that work here and all of their managers and Personnel that work here all they care about is what they're doing and their rules they don't actually care about your stay they don't care about how they can try to be accommodating what they could do to make it work better they also only want your room number that's it that's all they want they won't give you any phone number to call to see if you can work something out or anything I will never stay here again this is the worst experience of probably my life on vacation and I just want anybody else who's thinking about staying at Seacrest or even owns at Seacrest seriously consider owning somewhere else vacationing somewhere else this place is literally a joke I mean that in a nice way I'm not trying to be degrading it's just...
Read moreMy recent trip to the hotel provided a mix of enjoyable moments and some challenges, prompting me to share my experience with the hope of inspiring positive changes for future guests. What I envisioned as a serene escape for my husband, daughter, and me turned into a series of unexpected situations.
To begin with, the room where we stayed could greatly benefit from updates. For instance, during one of my showers, the bathroom faucet knob unexpectedly came off, highlighting a need for improved maintenance. Given the overall condition of the hotel, I believe the pricing could be more aligned with the available amenities. I was honestly relieved that I chose not to upgrade to the suite priced at $794 per night, as I suspect I would have found the lack of sound insulation disappointing.
The soundproofing in our room was inadequate; we frequently heard disturbances from the hallway, particularly children playing late into the night until around 2 AM, as well as noise from upstairs and the hallways at 5 AM. This made it challenging to unwind and truly enjoy the peaceful getaway we had hoped for.
Our dinner experience had its ups and downs as well. We were seated near a lively group of children, which shifted the atmosphere from romantic to somewhat chaotic. One memorable moment involved a child unexpectedly climbing onto our table barefoot, which was certainly surprising!
Following our meal, I encountered some food-related issues that did leave me feeling unwell. However, I want to commend our server, Kimoy, for his exceptional service. He was remarkably attentive and took our concerns seriously, offering sincere apologies for the noise. Additionally, the customer service we experienced on Saturday night at the Patio was commendable, especially from the bartender Akeem and several other team members, including the omelette station gentleman on Saturday morning, as well as Jadin and Lorenzo at the Pavilion, who made efforts to ensure our stay was comfortable. The manager, Chris, also took the time to chat with us prior to our dinner, which was a nice touch.
On a more positive note, one of the highlights of our stay was our time at the Patio with Akeem. We thoroughly enjoyed the delicious wings and refreshing drinks in a vibrant atmosphere, making for a lovely evening. In retrospect, we considered dining there again instead of venturing to Seacrest, as we enjoyed it so much.
However, I did notice a few situations during our stay that seemed to contribute to a sense of chaos. For example, it was unusual to see children playing in the adult pool, and we encountered dogs lounging on the towels we intended to use. These incidents unexpectedly detracted from what should have been a relaxing retreat.
In summary, with thoughtful improvements to its facilities and a stronger focus on guest comfort, this hotel has the potential to become a fantastic family-friendly destination for those seeking a getaway. I hope my feedback can assist in enhancing the experience for future guests.
We had initially planned to extend our stay, but we ended up checking out a day or two early in search of a more peaceful environment. Given our experiences, it's difficult for us to recommend this place to others, and we won't be returning ourselves. However, I want to emphasize how much I appreciated the outstanding customer service...
Read moreWe stayed in Suite 3504 from 8/13-8/20...overall we had a VERY GOOD stay as the location was perfect with great access to the beach, a nice bar at poolside (Poolbar Jim's), fantastic view and overall the suite had very nice decor. However, there were several blemishes encountered that kept it from being 5-Star:
housekeeping had literally just left as we were entering and the place was only quasi-cleaned up. Glass surfaces had streaks showing maybe 3 passes had been made and not over the whole surface, an old piece of candy was found on one of the lamps, sand and hair throughout the suite. The linens were fresh and appeared to have come from a central cleaning process. No bugs or rodents, which was obviously very nice but the effort put into cleaning appeared sub-par
mother-in-law stayed in 2nd bedroom (which had it's own full bath, which was nice) that had an unsecured doorknob that kept coming off and once had her momentarily trapped inside
shower in Master bath didn't just drip continously but was almost a stream) making a constant sound on the shower pan that WOULD have disrupted sleep...but I wedged an unused closet rod from the spigot to the floor and quieted the beast so we could sleep
#2 and #3 were reported on Day #2 of our stay and we were informed the repairman would be there Day #3/Monday...no one ever came all week
the included washer and dryer were on their last legs and need either new belts, a tune-up, or an exorcism
the included vacuum wasn't efficient at cleaning even after we cleaned the filters, which may partially explain #1
several light fixtures either had bulbs that were out, or had different shades (warm yellow-white vs cold blue-white hue). Given the price for the week, these details should have been working and uniform in color
last is for the entire structure, not the suite...the area experienced a power outage for a few hours during our stay and instead of the gates in the garage having a backup power vs default upright in event of loss of power vs someone manually opening the gates, every person was theoretically trapped inside the garage (I have a large truck so left by driving over the concrete pylons). This is a potential safety issue that I feel should have a contingency plan ASAP
Again, overall we didn't stay in much as the weather was great so we were usually out of the suite. However, if weather had forced us to remain indoors more then the above issues would have had a more negative...
