My wife and I recently visited Bad Biscuit on a hot summer afternoon. The restaurant was moderately busy, but there were plenty of tables available. Seating is self-service after ordering from the counter at the back of the room. The menu offers a good variety of biscuit-centric items, perfect for breakfast or brunch.
For our first visit, we kept it classic. My wife ordered the Rooster Biscuits N Gravy (biscuit, sausage gravy, and egg), while I opted for the Gravy Train (biscuit with samples of their four gravies: pimento cheese, mushroom, bacon, and sage & sausage). We both agreed the sage & sausage gravy was our favorite, though mushroom or cheese lovers might enjoy the other options.
The food was excellent. The biscuits were tall, flaky, and had the perfect Southern biscuit taste. The sage & sausage gravy complemented the biscuit perfectly. I can easily imagine this being a great spot for coffee and biscuits and gravy in the morning. Bad Biscuit might just have the best biscuits on the island.
The restaurant is comfortable and unpretentious, with an eclectic and charming decor. Pictures cover one wall, a flying angel hangs from the ceiling, an electric guitar is displayed in a plexiglass case, and a PacMan game sits in the corner. This diverse collection of decor surprisingly works well together. The person who took our order and served us was very friendly, and the customer-only bathroom was clean.
While I chose a basic order for my first visit, I was very pleased with the experience at Bad Biscuit. If you're a fan of biscuits and biscuit-related dishes, I highly recommend...
Read moreThe concept of this place sounded intriguing so we decided to give it a shot. The entrance was confusing and we stood in the entrance for several minutes before being greeted. We were the only ones in there and this should have been a red flag at 9 am at a breakfast joint. When we were finally helped I ordered the “Gravy Train” and my wife ordered the “Savage Skillet”. The drink choices were coffee, cold brew, or any bottle/canned drinks in the cooler without any prices! This is where it all started going wrong. A large cold brew which was the size of most regular drinks was $6 and a canned mr. pibb was $3.50. A canned drink for $3.50?! Our breakfast ended up being a little over $40 for 2 people! Wow. Just wow! When we got our food, the experience got even worse. The “gravy train” was just a biscuit and 4 small cups of different gravies. The sausage gravy should have been named herb gravy because that’s all it tasted like. The pimento cheese sauce almost made me throw up as soon as I tried it and I love pimento cheese and the bacon gravy didn’t taste anything like bacon and was so extremely runny. My biscuit was huge and extremely dry. My wife’s meal was just as bad. The hash browns were so heavily seasoned you couldn’t enjoy them and the sausage patty looked like anything but sausage. We took a few bites of our food and completely disgusted, we got up and left it there. Do not waste your money on this place. There are so many other breakfast places on this island that are way better and won’t...

This place was awesome. Super friendly staff and delicious food. The biscuits were large but light, fluffy and everything you would expect in a good southern biscuit. I have eaten here a number of times on a limited day vacation. This says a lot as I would usually try something new but this place was SO good. There are two options when it comes to their biscuits, plain or cheddar. Both delicious! We also had their breakfast sandwich's on biscuits. They are large portions perfect for splitting or having second breakfast. On the BEC the bacon was crisp and crunchy. The sausage was a tasty patty. Also tried the Sausage gravy that was a bit too flowery/herby for my taste but the rest of my group enjoyed it. I just thought it had a little too much sage or another herb that overpowered it. I am a plain black pepper gravy guy. Don't let this dissuade you from dining however others in my clan loved the gravy as we also ordered that multiple times. I also found the ambiance super cool...their branding is really well done and lots of merch to buy. Quality hats and t-shirts that are super soft and not just silk screened on to a shirt that could double as a Brillo pad. The retro video games and juke box provides entertainment for the kiddos (or adults who act like kiddos) while waiting for your food. My one regret: I didn't try the Cinnamon Biscuit with Caramel and Rum Cream. Reason to go back soon! I hope you enjoy this place as...
