To begin, we used our VI Timeshare points to book this property. I made an error, though, as I meant to book Aloha Towers, not Waikiki Skytower. I will be more careful next time. ||Thoughts:|While location is pretty central, this is not my favorite part of Waikiki. Area did not feel completely safe to me. |Staff was friendly.|Free parking--a huge positive in Waikiki!|Room(s) smelled of urine. Sleeper sofa mattress was very stained. No mattress protector. We opted to cover the sofa with sheets rather than pull out the bed. I made the king-size bed in the master bedroom. Yellow stains (at groin level) on the mattress protector. I 'double-sheeted' the bed. Smell was still evident. Interestingly, the bathroom smelled fine!|A/C worked well.|Nice patio. Two chairs and a table. Views were not great. Looked at run-down buildings. But, one could see the pool to the left and a sliver of the ocean to the right. That was appreciated!|Quick elevators.|Pool was super clean and warm. Never busy! |Full kitchen was appreciated. Well stocked.|Washer and dryer was appreciated. But, it needed a cleaning. Bring your own soap.|Cleanliness was satisfactory. Entire place could use a deep(er) clean. |Quiet building. Not too much street noise. Neighbors were quiet, too. Some people live in the building--it is partly residential. |Vacuum and brooms were in room. This is a great touch.|ABC store very close by to purchase items.|Close to bus stops. |One has to check in at Royal Kuhio. Get keys. Then, pull/carry luggage approx 6 blocks to actual room/hotel--towards the zoo. This is annoying as streets are busy, sidewalks are uneven, and it was hot! Taxi drivers are not too keen about such a short trip, I learned. :(|Garbage chute on floor to place garbage.|Secure internet connection.||Overall, though, I would likely not select this...
Read moreThe building is wonderful, have been to the Skytower numerous times and enjoy the location , security and pool there. Unfortunately we booked with Lei Hawaii Realty for nine weeks and had a terrible experience. Arrived at the unit at 10:30pm on our check in date to find out the code they supplied for the door didn't work, there is no 24 hour contact so left a voice mail. They supplied the proper code the day after our check in. The microwave quit working after three weeks, numerous emails sent and they kept saying they would repair or relace. Still not working when we checked out six weeks later. The unit itself was dated, finish on the tub was blistering and had to shower in flip flops, having a bath was out of the question. Beds were deplorable and they tried to refresh them with foam toppers on the mattresses which were also worn out. Pillows were stained and disgusting.||The building is great, just book through a reputable property management company.||Lei Reality asked for a review but wouldn't post it, no wonder all the reviews they posted...
Read moreThis place is WONDERFUL!!! literally had no problems at all. The Check in was simple. They do charge $45/week or $10/day for parking and and 2 other fees (cant remember what for) but totaled to $118 that you pay upon checkin. But it's still cheaper than any place we would have gotten and a lot better looking. The parking was secured and assigned parking made it even better. The photos posted do this place no justice. The kitchen was stocked with everything you'd need. It was very spacious. There was a washer and dryer in unit. Smart TV in both the living room and bed room. Pull out couch. The unit was very clean. The balcony had an okay view but we didnt use it much anyway. There were windows all around so lots of natural light. The condo is 1 block from the closest ABC store and 2 blocks from the beach and the main strip of Waikiki. You really dont need a car staying at this place. The check was simple also, walked in, handed the keys over...
