First off, this is not a luxury hotel. Its definitely 3 star, you get good value for a cozy suite. It's even equipped with a kitchen, basic pots and pans, a dishwasher, along with a standard 3 star style bedroom. Since it's 95 bucks including tax per night, it's definitely worth a stay. No fuss and no frills. There is also a standard hotel hot breakfast that is free with a World of Hyatt membership. Considering the membership is free, there's no reason to not take advantage of it. The breakfast wasn't anything to write home about. Omelettes, pancakes, bacon, etc. However, its filling fare that's completely free. Combined with the kitchen you can save a lot on dining out by staying at Hyatt House. Flipside, I will say there was one issue that kept me from rating it 5/5 stars. The manager or head receptionist (not sure, she had no name tag) didn't have good soft skills. When I'd ask questions or asked for something she'd help me, but her attitude gave me the impression that I was bothering her. This wasn't a problem shared by any of the rest of the staff, so it was jarring to say the least. If she was the manager, she ought to have someone with more people skills staff the front desk. For a specific example, the hotel's printer was out of paper. I went to the front desk and asked her about this. She just kind of shrugged and mutely handed me a stack of paper. I took it confusedly and asked if she was wanting me to reload the printer for her, and she just shrugged and then nodded before heading into the back room again. I'm glad I'm good with computers because reloading the paper wasn't hard, but what about someone who is worse at technical stuff? In addition, when I reloaded the printer it printed out another guest's flight confirmation. This is something that had personal information on it. I went to the front desk and gave it to the woman, and explained that it looked important. She just took it, balled it up, and threw it in the trashcan without looking at it. What if that piece of paper had credit card information? In the end, these might seem like two tiny nitpicks. In terms of value and what you get for the money, this place offers a good deal. It's just these two factors took staying here from being a perfect experience to being an OK one.

I do very much enjoy staying at Hyatt Hotels and I dislike having to give a negative review, however, this time I couldn’t help it. I checked in mid-afternoon on a Friday. I thought the hotel was closed, because there were very few cars in the parking lot. That should’ve been my first clue. The room itself was fine and clean, but when I went to shower in the bathroom I realized that there were bugs. I think they were tiny little roaches (couple of photos attached) and I had to kill 5 or 6. I know cockroaches are difficult to control having grown up in San Antonio and they seem to be everywhere. However, the Hyatt House on Katy freeway needs to do a better job with that. I know that all hotels are struggling to survive in the midst of a global pandemic where fewer people are traveling and there are staff issues everywhere. On the positive side, they did have an OK looking breakfast and even offered a small omelette bar. I only went for a cup of yogurt after the bug issue in my room and checked out of the hotel shortly after that. I only stayed the one night and will not be returning. I have two more weeks in the coming months in Houston for the same project and I have selected a different Hyatt property.

I came into town with my assistant, her daughter, and my dog & couldn't have asked for a better room, service, and place for a nice walk. It was storming for a couple of days, so the pool wasn't ready, but we felt safe & my pup had the best time on her first ever trip. All the ladies at the front desk were beyond nice & helpful - service was top notch. The room came with a full kitchen & breakfast with several options. I recently stayed at another hotel in Austin, and this hotel blew the other out of the water. Next time I'm in Houston, I'll definitely stay here. Highly recommend.

As a Globalist member with Hyatt's reward program, I'm highly disappointed with this hotel. My husband and I have stayed at many Hyatt Houses across the country, and this location is by far the worse one I've ever stayed in; I would never stay at Hyatt ever again if this was my first experience with this company.

The 1st room given to us was 249, and when we went into the room it smelled HORRIBLE; it smelled like mildew, felt wet, and had a bad musty odor. We went back to the front desk because the room "looked nice" BUT smelled like some dirty old roadside motel. So they assigned us another room; it had the SAME smell. We went back to the front desk for a 2nd time. The front desk then had maintenance come and show us 3 more rooms; and guess what, they ALL had that wet, musty, mildew smell. The front desk claims that's humidity, but I know it's not. There is something really wrong with this hotel building. I personally think it's a mildew problem that they're trying to cover up.

The front desk nonchalantly said we can give you a refund, and won't charge you a no-show. But I'm like that's the best you can do? My husband and I traveled a long distance to get to this hotel, and they act like they are doing me a favor by not charging us (BUT we showed and it's THEIR fault that their hotel rooms smell musty, wet and like mildew)!

The front desk showed us one last room, it still smelled musty, but it wasn't nearly as loud as the other rooms. I simply accepted this room because it was too late to book anywhere else for the night. I prayed I wouldn't get too sick by staying here. I was simply tired, frustrated, and didn't want to waste anymore time; the front desk already wasted about an hour of my time showing me stinky room after stinky room.

I would advise anyone with children, NOT to come here. It's 6am right now, and I tossed and turned all night sneezing and coughing with a stuffy nose, because this place is full of an old clammy musty mildew smell. I have a 1 year old baby and she's been sneezing; my husband is congested because of this place.

I don't know why this place smells like this. I think it's a really old building (perhaps an old apartment building not sure); the carpet is clammy and wet; perhaps the vents and HVAC system needs to be cleaned or it's in the sub-floor of the rooms. Whatever it is, I strongly suggest that no one stay at this place if they have breathing problems, because even the most healthy person can leave...

Title: A Luxurious Staycation Experience

I recently had the pleasure of staying at this hotel and I must say, it was an absolutely amazing experience. From the moment I walked in, I was greeted warmly by the staff and felt right at home. The hotel was clean, modern, and had all the amenities I needed for a relaxing stay.

My room was spacious and well-appointed, with a comfortable bed and luxurious linens. The bathroom was equally impressive, with a large bathtub and high-end toiletries. I also appreciated the thoughtful touches like a coffee maker and mini-fridge.

The hotel's location was perfect for exploring the city, with plenty of restaurants and attractions within walking distance. But I have to admit, I was so comfortable in my room that I didn't want to leave!

Overall, I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a luxurious staycation experience. It truly exceeded my expectations and I can't wait to return. I give it the highest rating possible! Title: A Luxurious Staycation Experience
