I will start with the good. The rooms are modern and clean. The bed is firm enough that you don’t leave with your back hurting. The air conditioning works great. ||||We got to the room though and noticed not one but 4 different lights that didn’t work. One light bulb was gone, two were burnt out and one fixture simply didn’t work. We called down to the front desk. The clerk said she would have maintenance come by at 8:00 in the morning. We made do with the one light that worked and our flashlights we brought. ||||Went to bed but at 11:45 the front desk called to see if we had a vehicle with a trailer that was taking up more than one space or were parking in the tow away zone. We said no. What hotels calls their guests in the middle of the night asking about cars! It ends up the hotel does not have enough parking for it’s guests…people were parking where they could.||||The next morning, maintenance did not show up. Went to call the front desk and the phones are out. Went downstairs to take care of the lights and phone issue but no one was there. Two people were waiting for the front desk clerk. There was a sign that said the clerk was helping a guest and would be right back. Only one clerk on in the morning is too few especially if people want to check out. I tried using a phone in the hall but it also was not working.||||Went back to the room. A couple of hours later the phones were working. When I called the front desk they said they were not informed from the previous shift about our issues with the lights. The maintenance person did come and he fixed all lights except one because the led light bulb was not in his stock. Haven’t they heard about Lowe’s or Home Depot? ||||We just kept on saying “saying” really after each incident. There is a Holiday Inn Express that I can see out my hotel window…maybe that would have...
Read moreWe had a wonderful experience in this hotel specially because ours was a long term stay here. Almost more than a year. The only issue we faced was with the housekeeping. They seem to have some issues with Indians. During my stay there were lots of Indians staying here since they were all working for same client.
The housekeeping staff never ever missed a chance of taunting or saying bad things about us. Since we were long term visitors the housekeeping staff would ask us to remind them about stuff such as changing the bath liner every month or so.. But god forbid if you remind them they would start blabbering about how they are working from past so n so years and that they know their job. There have been instances where the housekeeping staff had taken pictures of the room just to show how they have been kept. I say that they had no business doing that. They are fine cleaning rooms with pets who leave the room dirty with dog poop, but they have issue doing a full service or even checkouts for us.
They would usually come to the room in the morning and say oh I am so tired... Excuse me isn't it just the start of the day.... Anyways the maintainence staff and front desk was very nice to us, however the housekeeping staff seems to have some racism issues. I would request the management to look into the matter and at least prevent the staff from saying racist things like "you Indians keep the room so dirty. I can write a book on their behavior with us.
As far as I know on the day of our checkout we made sure that the dirty dishes are in the dishwasher, the shelves are clean and all the throw away items are near the trash. At the end I can just say that the indifferent behavior towards us is not acceptable and the only mole in this hotel is their...
Read moreI love that each king suite has a kitchen, full size refrigerator, and sitting area. These rooms are fantastically designed to maximize space. They also keep the rooms very clean. The beds are so comfortable, and unlike other hotels, if you request a feather-free room (I have terrible allergies), they actually honor your request. I love that it's not cooled by window units because with window units, you end up with one side of the room cold and the bathroom and rest of room warm. The AC in the rooms here is fantastic. I love the two big windows that you can choose to leave open, draw sheer curtains or light blocking curtains, or close both. The bathroom in the suite is a great size with exhaust fan in the shower/toilet area. I think that is a must and so many hotels don't have that. They provide plenty of towels, washcloths, and hand towels. There's lots of storage space in the bathroom, and the closet is large with mirrored sliding doors opposite the vanity mirror, which is fantastic for getting ready. The kitchen in the suite has two burners, microwave, dishwasher, large sink, dishes, silverware, pots, pans, and kitchen towels. They stock everything you need for making coffee with the coffee pot. Oh, and they even included tiny sealed salt and pepper shakers. The large TV is between the sitting area and bed. It's on a swivel base so that you can sit on the comfy couch and watch it, or you can turn it and see it from the bed. The sitting room also has a great size desk facing the window. Perfect for Zoom meetings and working. Wi-Fi is free. Finally, there are plenty of outlets in the room and lots of lighting.
I stay in the king suite at Residence Inn Houston I-10 West/Park Row every chance I get. Don't pass up the...
