The gym itself I like. It's never over crowded, and it's always clean. I enjoy going there because I can work out wherever I want, and not have to fight over machines ever. I pay 3499 a month plus $10 a month for the kids Klub, and I can also bring a free guest at any time. So the price is definitely right.
But I do have a huge gripe about this place... my gripe is that I have been over 10 times where no one was in the kids club to watch my kids. There have been times where the only time I can go into work out is at 8 in the morning, and their kids club hours are from 8 to 12 and then again from 4 to 8. So imagine my disappointment when I load up two kids in the car, unload them, and plan my entire day to be able to go to the gym, and show up, with no one in the kids club. At first the excuses were that the girl was running late, and then there were other excuses like oh she's on her way. Eventually after missing about five of my workouts, I decided to speak with a manager who was very nonchalant about the whole situation. He made absolutely no attempt to make things right , by offering me a personal training class or anything like that. Nothing. Nada. I told him that I was just getting back into working out postpartum and it was really important for me to have the child care that I was paying for. He kind of brush me off and said that it will never happen again... Well well well, guess what... It happened again, and again, and again. As a matter of fact, I was so turned off that I didn't go to the gym for about a month. I was also sick and so are my kids. I finally decided to go back to the gym this morning and it wasn't even at 8, I didn't get there until 8:30 or so... And guess what? Nobody in the kids club. The club manager did open it up and go in there to watch the kids, which honestly was nice that he was accommodating to me, but it made me feel very uncomfortable because I'm sure he does not have any training as a babysitter. So it was very unfortunate that this happened. I'm going to continue going when it's convenient for me, and demand that somebody be in the kids club. But it's very annoying to be made to feel like a burden to have nobody in the kids club to watch my kids when I work out. It makes my work out extremely stressful.
All that being said, I will still give the club good marks for cleanliness and emptiness. But never ever ever would I recommend this club to anybody that has kids. And is thinking about taking their kids to the gym. Another thing that I did not like is when I first signed up, the trainers were very aggressive to get me to sign up, which I obviously didn't. But I'm really good at saying no so it was easy for me to make them back off. But I was still irked by the aggressiveness. So if you don't want personal training, let it be known early that it's not in your budget and you're absolutely not interested. Otherwise they will keep...
Read moreI am writing this review to express my deep concern regarding an incident that occurred this morning around 6:45 a.m. I have been a member of this club for over 15 years, long before Dynamic took over, and I’ve always valued maintaining my fitness routine here.
Recently, I sustained a deep cut on my toe, making it very difficult to wear closed-toe shoes. Wanting to continue my workouts while allowing my injury to heal, I came in sandals. While using an arm machine, a man approached me and very loudly said, “Ma’am, I’m going to have to ask you to leave the club immediately.” Shocked, I asked why, and he continued — shouting — that I was “breaking the laws of the club” by not wearing closed-toe shoes and that he would “escort me out immediately.”
I calmly explained my situation, while still getting up to leave, but he continued to raise his voice, even sharing that he had gone through major reconstructive surgery yet was still capable of wearing proper shoes. As I got up to leave, I told him I needed to get my friend from the treadmill, but he continued shouting across the floor, insisting he was escorting us off the property. The whole exchange was humiliating — as though I had committed a crime rather than simply needing an accommodation while I heal or a calm informative directive about the policies.
This situation could have been handled very differently. Instead of a public confrontation, he could have quietly asked me to step to the desk, (7 steps away) and explained the policy. Instead, he made a scene, driving away not just my confidence in returning but also my sense of belonging at the club.
When I later called to ask for his name, which I discovered is Andrew...I was shocked to learn that he is the Director of Maintenance. Is this truly who you send to confront guests? He is clearly not trained in customer service or de-escalation. His manner was unnecessarily aggressive, his shouting inappropriate, and his comment about “laws” misleading. He is giving vibes of a security guard that just got a badge/gun and thinks he is above the law. At the very least, he needs training in customer service, de-escalation, and frankly, a hearing test.
I am now genuinely contemplating canceling my membership. I don’t know how to walk back in and face the people who witnessed the incident. I hope management takes this seriously, because no member should be treated in such a...
Read moreI signed up at Dynamic around July with the general manager. I added a personal trainer to my account as well so I would be paying 16.00 plus 92.00 every two weeks. The trainer was great and everything was fine until the club started taking the PT payments when they were not authorized to. I had no answers as to why this was happening. To resolve the problem I payed the remaining balance of about 1,200.00 so that they can stop take the payments out. This worked until the date of my trainings being completed came up and I was charged 92.00 on January 18th and again on January 21st. I contacted the general manager the first and I was reimbursed and he stated it shouldn’t happen again. Also, he prior to the date coming up he noted in the system that I did not want to continue monthly and that i should be canceled after the last expected date (no reoccurrence).so the second time it came out of my account (me a super frustrated client) I called to speak with the general manager and he said he put in for the reimbursement I asked once again if he knew why this was happening or had any answers and he had none. At this point I wanted to cancel my membership which he said was canceled “effective immediately”. Before canceling my membership I did want to speak with someone in a high position that could give me answers but he stated that there was no one for me to speak with. I connected another location that was very understanding and helpful and told them about the situation. However, they stated that my membership is still effective and has not been canceled. I’m waiting to speak with someone once again to for update. My account has been charged for the membership fee. This is becoming a nightmare and I want out of this gym. I work very hard for my money to things like maintain my fitness but I can’t even do that because so much money is starting to be accounted for. I am literally begging for...
