A complete review as follows, note that l did not have a car and used airport shuttle to and fro. I stayed in the king "suite" bedroom:

PROS: Value priced, close to airport, good staff ( which includes Front Desk, maintenance guy, and shuttle driver ), good AC in room, fridge in room, capable enough wifi, large ( and from my 2 night experience ) a pretty quiet room. Bed was fairly decent- no discomfort, gym looked small but sufficient - I didn't use it. Plenty of ice near lobby. A lot of TV channels.

CONS: This is obviously an older building and a " work in progress ", which it definitely needs. Read to the end.

Cheap, smaller screen TV with wires all over the place in my room required manual adjustment every time you turned it on to get a signal- l initially had to have maintenance guy come and show me how because I assure you that you won't figure it out unless he does. A weird, very low toilet seat, and the toilet bowl had a crack in it. The toilet never actually functioned properly as well, even after the maintenance guy came back and " fixed it" the best he could. Definitely an older shower and bath, although "clean" it was somehow also dingy at the same time. There was a hole where the up/down drain lever used to be in the forward part of the bathtub. Had a bathroom sink that drained like chilled molasses. Plenty of older furniture in the room- with misaligned dresser drawers, top drawer didn't open at all, and the middle one didn't want to close completely. If you happen to be OCD this room might drive you nuts ( just sayin). Not a great continental breakfast, but it sufficed for the budget conscious. Your option is the Waffle House next door. Not a great pool or surrounding pool environment with beat up furniture and planes flying closely over your head. No thank you, no swimming 4 me. Mandatory charge for early check in, although granted l was very early due to flight change with hurricane Milton so it was what it was- and I shouldn't complain about that- just giving you a heads up that extenuating circumstances never matter. Also fyi, it's $25 to check out 1 hour late. Again just a heads up. Not the greatest neighborhood, a couple sketchy people here and there- I mostly stayed inside.. You can forget about a grocery store or drug stores anywhere in walking distance. But You can walk to a couple restaurants.

Summary: All in all I personally would never stay in this hotel again. However for the situation I was put in I made do. In addition l would have definitely expected more from a Wyndham property for sure- as well as from other reviewers given some of the other reviews l had read. But to be honest I haven't stayed in a Wyndham for a 15 years or so, so l guess times change. And I don't believe I have ever stayed in a "Wingate" property, and probably never will again. But because of the run down feeling of the property itself and in particular the room and facility environment I would absolutely not rate this any higher than two stars for most Travelers- at best. Usually don't have time to write long reviews but today I did, and l hope that this helps future Travelers- but I am one that does not prefer surprises and there...

Today while waiting to book a room at this hotel. I decided to charge my phone by the ice machine.

Near the ice machine is a chair. I set in the chair while charging my phone.

I was approached by one of the upper management members. He advised I, and my daughter, who joined me shortly before the manager approached us.

He said we cannot be in the area where the ice maker is, he advised it is not for sitting. I then asked if the room is not for sitting why is there a chair here?!

Long story short, the situation became very ugly quickly. He was rude, he also speaks to the staff members in a disrespectful manner.

The employees he does this to say nothing because they do not want to lose their jobs.

I have been a customer since July of 2023. I have spent thousands of dollars with them.

For example: 15 days comes to approximately $1,051 with tax.

I stayed thirty days at this hotel. I checked out two weeks ago, and was going to check back in today until the disrespect.

I am a single mother of three daughters, we are waiting on our new apartment, I have a terminal illness.

It is disgusting to me how the manager treated me, and my daughter. I’m not originally from TEXAS, what I have noticed. Some people from INDIA discriminate very horribly here.

Where I’m from people from India are like family. We all reject disrespect and choose to treat each other with respect.

In this entire company, only one Manager has been respectful, and a great communicator.

Their rooms are never clean, I have located an entire box of condoms under the bed. Rooms that we stayed in before where we left a hair clamp in error, it was in to same room one month later, in the same exact spot it was in when we last checked out, a month prior.

I do not like paying my hard earned money to a business that does not appreciate me as a past, or present customer.

It’s because of each and every customer that this establishment makes revenue.

No customer, no revenue. Encouraging this business to treat their customers better. Running repeat customers away is the worst thing a business can do!

It’s not all about the money!

I recommend the owners fire the head manager and make MAYUR the primary manager.

The current manager is driving business away. That is bad business, he also makes your company look very bad.

Grand Peace, Harmony & Abundance to...

Do not stay at this hotel. This hotel has been renamed more than once. The employees that work at this hotel is very rude. They will lye too you with a straight face. The hotel has been investigated more than once. The hotel is operating without a building permits. The swimming pool has been closed for a long time. The city of HOUSTON has come in and closed the pool more than once. If you have stayed at this hotel and you went swimming in they pool fyi go get a check up. If you want your car stole are wake up and parts missing off your car are truck stay at this hotel. This hotel is a easy get away for thieves because it's right next to the freeway and right behind it there is a dark street that's very wooded and trashy. The property is trashy there's trash and other stuff laying around. There are homeless folks staying at the hotel for FREE. If you stay here and you stay on the first floor u Better check the window. There has been folks found n rooms on the 1st floor that wasn't even check into the room. I would advise you not too eat breakfast are so call breakfast at this hotel. This hotel is a none smoking hotel but folks that are living in the and just staying in the hotel Are smoking in the rooms. There is only one ice machine at the hotel. There's no ice machine on the 2nd and 3rd floor. The ice machine on the 1st floor has slime in it just HORRIBLE. If you stay at this hotel I would recommend you going 2 the waffle house and sonic witch is on the same parking lot. The hotel due have a termites, ROACHES, etc. They will over charge your credit card. This hotel don't even have a occupancy permit, they can't even get it. The fire system/ fire sprinkles don't even WORK. If you won't a nice hotel 2 stay n I would advise you to go too the double tree, la quinta, etc other hotels besides this one. If you decide too stay here enter at...

I do not recommend this hotel at all! Price is good but not for the value! I asked for a non smoking room due to my asthma and upon opening the room door, the stench of cigarette smell was disgustingly unpleasant! I went to the front desk and the sweet and courteous young lady offered to switch our room and even after changing rooms the smoke smell was there as well. They have a pullout bed in the living room space but no extra sheets or blankets were provided. People were running up and down the corridor and you can hear people through the walls. Never again will we stay at this location!!! Please read all of your reviews before booking this hotel. We didn’t have a choice as we had a flight delay and this hotel looked promising but I didn’t read the review before booking. I didn’t even get a chance to grab breakfast since their first floor and lobby were under remodeling construction. But I couldn’t wait to get out of there ASAP. The vents were so dusty and I had to use my inhaler several times at night. There was no hot water in the sink at all only in the shower. I put on a new white pair of socks to walk around as i had forgotten my slippers and just walked from the shower to my bed and the bottoms were filthy from the dirty carpets. Please, please, please read your reviews even if it’s a last minute decision DO NOT STAY HERE!!!

This is an old Best Western property, now sporting the moniker "Wingate by Wyndham." It is a hotel that has potential, but needs some love and investment from its current owners and management. It is located close to IAH and offers free on-demand airport pickup, and scheduled hourly returns to the airport. It's amenities include a free hot breakfast (including pancakes, sausages and scrambled eggs). There were only spoons and forks for utensils, so cutting my bagel in half to toast it was a challenge. Therr is a small business center, and an outdoor pool (replete with unswimmable green water). There have been some recent renovations including the breakfast area and the guest rooms. It's too bad they cut corners on the latter... The door on my guest room was scuffed, and the electrical outlets are yellowed from age. The bed and linens were nice, but there was an unsightly stain on the furniture... This would be easy to steam out, but has not done. The hallways were uninviting...scuffed walls, stained carpet, fixtures hanging by their wires. Would I go back? Probably not... It's state of carelessness and disrepair give the hotel a creepy flea bag vibe.

First thing is the nice girl behind the front desk was a bit overwhelmed with a couple of things beyond her control. My card key and the previous customer's card key were not working. It was clearly something wrong with the machine. But she apologized and fixed the problem. Secondly, there are a lot of small things that the hotel could be doing that shows they care. I notice supply closet door open, the TP always comes over the top with a fold at the end, my door had no type of spring to close it. It just stayed open until I closed it. I've never encountered that in a three star hotel. Also, if you're going to have internet streaming ONLY TV, you need to have the bandwidth available to handle it otherwise you get the tiling or pixelation that is very annoying. I don't know if I would rather just have an antenna on the TV. All I all, I would stay there again. I didn't get to try the free breakfast. It was a slow night maybe they were short handed. I may have just caught them on an off night, but the room was alright and the A/C really cranked out some cool air.
