Where to begin, Hyatt should be ashamed to having their name associated with this location. And if they don’t get someone their soon to fix the outlining problems they will lose more than me as a customer. I have been a loyal Hyatt customer , but no longer after this weekend because i find all this to be unforgiving and unacceptable this is not how business is done.
Upon arrival at 4 pm we were told that the computer system was down and they were unable to check us in. The lobby was packed with people so i know we weren’t the only ones with this issue. We decided to wait in our car ( a/c ) because of how crowded the lobby was ( and it was hot in there ) and it was 95 degrees outside so we waited in the car until approximately 5:45 to be checked in
Once we were checked in and arrived in our room the temperature was a blistering 85 degrees inside the room according to the thermostat so we called the front desk for help. The front desk woman was very nice and tried her best to assist by calling maintenance to our room.
As we waited for maintenance to arrive we discovered the TV was not working.
Upon maintenance arriving he fixed the TV immediately and stated he was unsure why but everything behind the tv had been disconnected. Now to the a/c maintenance worker stated he needed to retrieve some tools to remove the front plate cover of a/c unit to check on some switch that may have been turned off inside the unit so again we waited but not for very long maintenance man seemed to be capable to fix the issue and was very prompt. He finished up within 15 min stating everything was good and to give the a/c a hr or 2 to cool the room to desirable temp so we went to dinner. Upon our return to dinner the temp in the room had not dropped but a few degrees but we felt like it was blowing cool it just needed more time. We headed for an after dinner cocktail with another couple also staying in the hotel. We returned a little after 1 am to find we have been locked out of our room ( keys didn’t work ).so I head to front desk where the young lady is more than happy to assist. After the 3rd attempt of giving me newly programmed keys which none of them worked she decides that she will come to the room to see if their may be a problem with the lock on the door upon arrival at our room the 4th set of programmed keys still doesn’t work so she tries her master key and to her amazement her master key doesn’t work so we head back to the front desk to call someone to help. After :45 min she states Eureka we have figured it out and hands me the 5th set of newly programmed keys which also didn’t work so i head back down to front desk to give her the bad news and it was now time for me to ask for additional assistance i reach out to Hyatt customer service. The customer service lady was even though very apologetic was absolutely no help at all getting us into our room. She stated to me that she has sent a email to manager asking for a full comp of said room and asked if i would like to change room which i was ok with if we could get inside our room so again nice front desk lady states i have no authority to comp room but will notify the manager myself and unfortunately we are booked solid for the night and are unable to change your room. And the customer service lady is just flabbergasted the front desk lady couldn’t help me in anyway comp, move, or assist in getting me into our room. Then out of nowhere another person shows up ( I assume a manager ) walks into some back room and finally was able to program a key that works 6th attempt. That a total 2.25 hrs i waited for someone to program a workable key now my you my wife mind waited in the hallway for the entire time all this went on. Upon entering our room the temp was only at 81 degrees so I return to the front desk and was told some one was going to bring us a fan thats the best they could do so i took it something is better than nothing.
The next morning front desk knows nothing of what has happened and i call customer service again to move rooms for another...
Read moreIf you can stay anywhere else, stay there instead. Was at the Hyatt Place Huntsville Research Park as part of a wedding party. I will give them the benefit of the doubt that they are understaffed and that's part of the problem. Here are the noted problems: The hotel is dirty. The hallway floors haven't been mopped and rugs haven't been vacuumed or cleaned in a long time. There were dead bugs and a dirty towel in the hallway. The breakfast area was piled up with dishes. Service: our toilet wasn't working properly. We notified the front desk and they said there's no maintenance on site and we'd have to wait until the morning or switch rooms. My mother (80s) was already in bed. We had to lift the tank lid and pull the chain in order to flush the toilet, which ran. No one ever came to fix it. A second service issue is that we returned from the wedding and were locked out of our room. At the front desk, they said our reservation was for one night. I showed them on my app that we had 2 nights. The desk attended asked my name and then asked about someone else with the same last name. I did not know that other person. The attendant insisted that my reservation had something to do with that other person. She then said we weren't in the right room and gave me keys to that other room. I told her we (again, elderly mom) weren't moving. We were exhausted, and she was the one who had put us in the wrong room in the first place. She ultimately gave us keys to that room, with no apology, no acknowledgement of inconvenience. Lastly, breakfast was a mess. In addition to the dishes piled up, they ran out of coffee, syrup, even water. It must have been too much for the staff, or poor...
Read moreI’m so disappointed to write this. I’ve been traveling to Huntsville at least twice a year for a few years now. This hotel was my go to because of location and quality. Unfortunately, it’s slowly gone down hill.
The last time I stayed, the person next to me had their tv up so loud it was louder than the TV in my room, all night long. I asked the front desk for help and they didn’t do a thing. It was like that for my last two nights, all night long. The girl working seemed like she could care less.
The most recent time, I checked in around midnight. The privacy blind didn’t work and there was a spit wad like thing stuck to my wall along with stains on the carpet. I asked for a new room and was told they were completely booked. She didn’t even offer to have anyone come the next day to fix either, I had to ask for that. I double checked the next day that they would be cleaning it. Yep. Absolutely. Came back, blind was fixed, spit wad still on the wall. Went back down to get it fixed again and they called someone who it sounded like told them they needed to do it themselves. I waited an hour and half. No one came. Both people working the front desk were rude and disinterested. So, the next morning, I found a new hotel and checked out. The woman working did make it right by not charging me for the nights I wasn’t staying. It’s still disappointing that I asked 3 times and no spit was...
