Tired of the filthy rooms and terrible customer service, we switched from Comfort Inn & Suites to join the Hilton rewards program.
The positives:
Great location with just enough distance from Bridge Street. Great view (if you're placed in a room over looking the walking trail). Breakfast was fine with warm options (eggs, turkey sausage or bacon, etc). The customer service.
The negatives: We asked for a certain room months in advance. However, upon arrival, we were presented with a room next to the ice machine. The staff allowed us to move into what they had left. The new room was absolutely filthy. Dog hair, human hair, and dust covered every surface. The sheets were covered in hair as well. My husband requested fresh sheets and a clean duvet cover. We changed the sheets and disinfected the entire room. The whole process took over 2 hours. To make matters worse, we had just finished a 12-hour road trip. Therefore, we were tired and pretty frustrated.
The lavatory is designed with the sink on the outside. Which means you have to turn a nasty doorknob before washing your hands. I'm not even going to comment on the community shower soap, shampoo, and conditioner bottles that everyone can touch 😒.
Why the four star review, you may ask?
The excellent customer service. If you follow my reviews, then you will understand how important customer service is to me. Even through all the fustrating events that occurred, the staff tried to turn the negatives into positives. We requested to double up on our sheets and pillowcase - no problem. We requested someone to vacuum to remove the unsanitary hairs - no problem. Everyone had a great attitude and apologized for the inconvenience. Additionally, it was a busy holiday. Sometimes you have to understand the bigger picture... and unpack...
Read moreI travel for my company,….. a lot! Multiple times a month and I always stay at a Hilton hotel. Hampton Inn and suites are usually my hotel of choice. All the years that I have stayed at Hilton hotels I have never had any issues. This is the first and hopefully the last time that I will ever have an issue, especially of this extent. I was traveling as I said for my company with one of my coworkers, she had a room and I had a room, different floors. When we met for breakfast, she let me know about how there was hair in the bed in her room and hair in the shower and the bathroom was just dirty. I found that very odd because I didn’t notice anything unclean about my room. However, I had shaved my legs, and I got a little nic on my leg and a little razor burn, it happens. Throughout the day, it kept getting worse and painful, which I thought that was odd because I’ve never had razor burn like this happened before. By the time I had gotten home, my leg looked like ground beef. Immediately went to the doctor and had to be put on emergency antibiotics and an antibiotic topical gel. It was a staff infection. Some may say you had a dirty razor, to that I say, Nope, it was a brand new razor. I can only conclude that either the sheets or the towels had bacteria on them as those were the only things my leg had touched or come in contact with. This one bad incident will not detour, me from never using Hilton or the Hampton Inn and suites again. If I’m not staying in a Airbnb when I travel, I stay at a Hilton. I love the Hilton BRAND. This is for this specific location hotel to know they need to do a better job in cleaning the rooms and sanitizing...
Read moreWe stayed here 4 days while going to the Space museum. Pros: great location- you are only 5 minutes away from the Space Museum and plenty of restaurants. Hotel room was what you would expect- everything was clean, bed was comfy. Very average. The pool area is nice and there was plenty of pool towels each day. Sitting area outside with fire pit was very nice. Great views If you get a room on the back of the hotel. Everyone was friendly. Cons: the breakfast was horrible. They served the same thing every single day! Sausage basically 4 different ways. The cereal options never changed and by the end of our stay there was no fruit or hot chocolate left. We are pretty laid back and easy to please but by the end of our stay I was very disappointed. I would recommend maybe having more breakfast options and taking more pride in the appearance of your dinning area. We sat at the same spot every morning and you could tell it wasn’t getting cleaned. The base of the table was dirty with the same dried food/jelly stains on it every day. The carpet/furniture was stained and no one wiped down anything that I saw in between people sitting at tables.
We stay at a lot of Hampton Inns due to being part of the Hilton rewards program and this by far is one of the worst ones I’ve ever stayed at. Overall, I do not recommend this place and we will...
