Throughout my weekend, there were just way too many issues encountered for the price I paid for this room and the reputation held by "Westin". I would have had a better experience at about any other hotel in town. I was not allowed to order from the inside food or drink menu from the pool bar and was told to go inside the hotel, myself (in my swimsuit), if I didn't like the partial menu offered outside. I was also not able to order from the inside menu for eating at the pool due to plating (Yes. The way the food was to be served). The lobby bathrooms were not clean and never got refreshed during that day. The inside pool area had no ventilation so our eyes stung from all the chlorine. People smoked anywhere that they wanted outside (that may be policy, but it is unheard-of in Huntsville now). My coffee pot in my room was broken and leaked all over the place AND I NEVER GOT MY TUB CLEANED. Friday evening, the front desk told me that it would not be a problem to get the tub clean by 10am Saturday morning; however, I was not told if the tub would be cleaned by the same people who do room service or if a special effort would be made in order to get it clean--only that it would be cleaned. The next day, we were out of the room by 8am so as to allow house-keeping access by 10am. When we returned from breakfast to change and head to the pool (9ish), the room had not been cleaned yet. Later that day, when I checked with the front desk, I was told that they didn't know that status of whether it got cleaned, they couldn't find out the status, but that I could go look at the tub, myself, to see if it looked clean or not. This was odd to me, that they couldn't give me any kind of confirmation since I called THE FRONT DESK to request it be cleaned, so I finally asked the question in enough ways to warrant further explanation. I was then told that there was "no way" for the front desk to find out if someone had cleaned my tub because house-keeping didn't report that type of information to the front desk. I DID go upstairs in my swimsuit to check the tub because I really wanted a bath, but room service had still not been by to clean our room. At this point, it was after 2.30! (And no, I did not hang a do not disturb sign). All in all, our room was not cleaned until some time between 6-9pm and my tub was never touched. I know that the tub was not touched because someone else's pubic hair remained in the tub for the entirety of our stay, even after our beds were made from room service. Long story short: The overall service at the Westin was really bad. This facility should not even be allowed to represent the name"Westin". The staff was rude, tasks were not managed, guest needs were not a priority AND my tub never...

I wanted them to be ready and on display upon her arrival later in the week. When Deontay heard about my request, he took the personal initiative to ensure that the arrangements were made perfectly. The result was absolutely beautiful, and it made my mother's week! The level of thoughtfulness and attention to detail demonstrated by Deontay and the entire team was remarkable.
