Kings Beach many many years ago was a very nice quiet beach with few people and lots of room to play. Today the beach and parking lot are over crowded. Half the Restrooms were broken. There was litter on the "beach". It was overly crowded when we got there around 930am with almost no access to the water shoreline unless you walked through someone's "camp" /beach set up to get to the water. There were so many kayaks, paddle boards and over sized flotation rings it was difficult for my small toddler to even play in the water..we were almost run over by paddle boards, and Kayaks on several occasions. There is very little to No Shade at all along the shoreline so an oversized beach Umbrella or pop up tent is recommended. There were also many dogs on the beach and in the water. Very few trash cans so I suggest making sure you bring a bag for your garbage. It also appeared that smoking was permitted on the beach as several parties were consuming and enjoying. I would recommend life jackets for those who don't swim well the wake off the beach was pretty good sized waves due to all the boats and jet skis... it would be easy to get knocked over by an unexpected large wave if you...

I don't know exactly which beach we were on; as we were driving around the whole Lake Tahoe, and we stopped at several pull-over beach areas. Ducks were sweetly floating and would gather for food. There's a few shops & restaurants/cafes to keep you happy. A lot were closed (probably a seasonal bunch of businesses). It was really geared towards the skiing crowd, so lots of places catering to them. Some quaint, village surrounding and decorations, but it's not garish & parking lot is easy to drive past. There was Even a man playing a flute, and the serene notes drifted across the beach like a dream! A little bit was playing with a service dog and splashing in the edges of the cold, crystal clear water....

My tip is just drive through the neighborhoods hopefully you don’t get towed and park somewhere there’s no parking signs so pay attention.
The water was so cold it was freezing about 60 degrees almost painful but it’s worth champing it. Mind over matter.
If you do it’s so clear out to at least 6’ deep you can see your toes super clear.
There’s port o potty’s and real bathrooms too.
It gets pretty crowded but the perk is there’s shade in the back and benches and a nice little walkway that’s paved going along the whole beach.
Sand is super soft which I loved and there’s plenty of food nearby and kayak and jet...
