DO NOT STAY HERE!!!!
I was moving across the country a few weeks ago. Stopped here after being on the road for 13 hours to get a few hours of sleep before continuing my journey.
Pulled in at about 1:30 A.M. with my U-Haul trailer. Once I got a room, I pulled around to the back where I could find a spot. I had a companion in a secondary vehicle that parked directly behind me to insure nobody would attempt any funny business. I also parked as close to eye shot of a camera as I could.
Woke up, went to pack my car back up, trailer was gone, hitch was broken, and my truck was out of commission due to a broken axel… I frantically dropped my things in parking lots and sprinted up to the front desk, the woman working the front assured me that she could see the footage from her computer, but couldn’t show me, and law enforcement would have to obtain it it from corporate, but it could take 24-48 hours, and she assured me she was putting that request in as we were speaking.
3 weeks later and we still don’t have footage. I called corporate, sat on hold for half a day, and they assured me they never even received a forum for the matter (which is standard practice so they say)
Coincidentally, the woman that checked us in at 1:30 A.M. went on break from 3:30-4:30 A.M. initiation of the trailer being stolen started at 3:45 A.M. and concluded at 4:15 A.M.
I was sick to my stomach and devastated thinking about leaving my possessions behind to continue my journey, so I stayed an extra night holding onto hope that something would developed on the 12 extra hours I had here.
I made a point to go and talk to the woman that had checked us in prior when she arrived for the start of her shift the following morning. She was noticeably uncomfortable with the questions I was asking, and when I offered a reward if she did have any information she threatened to kick me out of the hotel. I was nothing but inquisitive and curious. Honestly, I didn’t think she would know anything until the way she was acting.
I’ve been notified since that this happens almost nightly at this hotel. I can’t help but think there is something fishy going on here. Regardless, if you are concerned about your safety and wellness, avoid at all costs!!!!!!!!!!!
$75,000 of possessions gone.. just gone. And the leads we could have had.. gone.. I was on my way to get married to my finance of 9 years. He’s about to get deployed.. my wedding dress, his tux, my late grandmothers pearls.. gone. I threw every last penny I had to my name at this move. In fact, I spent my last $129 staying at this hotel..
I couldn’t care less about the items that can be replaced. But 29 years of Polaroid pictures I will never be able to recover. All the memerobilia. Gifts from late loved ones.. my grandmas had just hand quilted me a blanket out of my late grandfathers shirts/jeans.. something he was notorious for. My mother hand knit me a massive wool blanket, as I’ve never lived this far away from her and there’s nothing like a hug from your mama when you need it. It’s all gone. All of it.
I walked in with everything I own after 29 years of life, and walked out with nothing but the cloths on my back… what are the point of cameras if not for stuff like this???
Avoid…...
Read moreMy wife and 2 kids and I stayed here for a couple of tournaments that my kids participated in this past weekend. I picked this hotel because it was the closest and one of the cheapest ones available on IHG to both events (different locations). I travel for work occasionally and we have to travel around the state and other places sometimes for wrestling tournaments for my kids, so I try to use IHG whenever possible. This one was one of our worst experiences that we've had at any of them that we've stayed at.
First, the air conditioner was super loud and made noises all the time, and the fan was so strong on it that the back of my head was freezing on the bed farthest away from it, and there was really no way to control it other than to turn it completely off and be hot all night.
The bathroom was really small, only 1 person could be in there at a time, so with 4 of us it took extra time to get ready in the morning. The shower handle was messed up, it took me about 10 minutes of playing with it to figure out that to get it on hot you had to force it because it only turned about a 1/4 turn which went from cold to almost warm, and you had to force it pretty hard to get it to go to the position where it started getting hot. Once it was hot, the pressure was so low that it was hot coming out of the shower head but by the time the water hit your head it was only warm. My wife couldn't wash her hair in the morning because it would have taken her forever and we didn't have that much time, so she had to wait to do it until before bed that night.
My son said that the airplanes kept waking him up, which I guess is understandable at an airport hotel, but still makes for a bad experience. None of us got much sleep either night we were there.
I was in a hurry when I booked it, so I didn't notice that there was no pool or continental breakfast, which was also disappointing, but that was on me. I've stayed at a lot of Holiday Inns and Expresses, and almost all of them had both, so I thought it was a little overpriced for not having those amenities.
Oh, and also the mini fridge barely kept anything semi-cold, let alone refroze our ice packs that we needed done, and there was no way to adjust it, so we had to drink warm drinks all day at the...
Read moreThe room was not as pictured, breakfast was not included, and when we booked 2 months ago i made sure there was a pool. When we got there we were told there is pool access if you want to drive 10 minutes away to airport west. Then we over heard them tell another guest that breakfast was provided by their restaurant, but only certain rooms received vouchers. sigh EVERY holiday we have stayed in for the last two years has had an amazing breakfast spread for FREE and a pool IN THE BUILDING. The rooms also looked as they were on the site.
We switched to holiday inns after we stayed in one during the snow storm back in 2022. We loved the room and the breakfast (it was better than the Hilton). We hadn't had any issues until this last stay. It was our daughter's birthday and she wanted to stay in a hotel to swim and she wanted to go to the children's museum. It took us HOURS to console her.
I got on the site a few minutes before posting this review to see if they still have pool access listed, and they do not. When we booked I checked the site four times and checked the room listing four times before booking. I wanted to make sure that our daughter could swim. There have been plenty of times where we would book a room and then the pool would close, so I was constantly rechecking the site.
This room was supposed to be 'luxury' but the caulking was coming away from the shower, the toilet was leaking under the linoleum, the ceiling tiles were bent and breaking, and they didn't provide extra linens for the pull out couch. They had all kinds of soaps, lotions, and shampoos bolted the wall, plenty of tables and random dressers; but no extra linens for the pull out couch.
We will never book with this particular hotel again. We only booked so far away from the museum because there was another event going on at the same time that all the King rooms had been booked around the museum. We are a family of 5 so a regular room with a regular queen bed isn't an option. But as my husband and I have said multiple times since checking in to the hotel "Lesson learned" we will no longer book a hotel strictly on line. We will call and double check EVERY amenity...
