The first room we had didn’t have curtains on either door and you could see inside the bedroom from the front door, no curtains on the door by the bathroom either, so no privacy it also came with a broken bed leg. She knew it was broken, when we had to bring it to her attention she told us “Oh! Yes you need to push the frame up to the metal plank in the bottom corner close to the wall where the fan remote is” and “ I’m sorry I had a guest apparently jump up and down on the bed the other day and we fixed it with the black cone until the new frame comes. But I’ve tested it and it was solid! Let me know if you got it on top of the metal on that corner” there was a temporary leg but it was a few inches shorter than the rest and the “metal plank” was also broken at the fasteners, definitely not solid. Regardless no guest should EVER have to fix anything broken in their room on their vacation! After we told her that it wasn’t fixable she said said “Ok well is gonna take me about 30 minutes to get the other room ready. I’ll text u”. At 7:50pm we brought it to her attention and at 8:45pm we finally got the text that it was ready. The 2nd room was also a huge disappointment, the shower was held by a bungee cord, the toilet had a foam seat that had been cut leaving the foam exposed, very unsanitary! The drywall was left unpainted, there was a hole in the bedroom wall and scuff marks on all the walls, the towels also had multiple burrs stuck to them, both rooms had very uncomfortable beds. The gate is held together by a bungee cord, fix the lock! I could go on. I read reviews from 2016 and a year ago saying this place needs “TLC” and there was no shades on the doors and it’s still very true as of late March 2018. There was a type of shade over the entrance door in the 2nd room and it was see through from the outside, we tested it at night and in the morning. Both rooms had a very chemical smell to them when we first got there we had to air them out. The air conditioner unit was too small for both rooms and they were loud and looked dirty and old. I live in Rincón and have traveled all over Puerto Rico and this is by far the most disappointing place I’ve stayed. Vieques is wonderful and I highly recommend going, but staying...
Read moreAcacia Guesthouse is in a great location especially if you don't have a car. You can walk to the Malecon with many restaurants, Sun beach, and the grocery store. The property is clean and Isabel is friendly. However, I have a couple of suggestions: there should be enough dishes and cutlery for the guest capacity, and because of the sea air things rust relatively quickly; some of the cooking utensils were rusted so we didn't use them; also, one of the blankets had holes in it. I mention this as a former property manager, as these little things should not be overlooked. All in all, it was a pleasant stay and I...
Read moreLow season price $60 Sunday night/$80 Saturday night. The location is settled closer to the beaches you want to go to, given that you don't have a rental and are walking, farther from the 'Esperanza strip' (restaurants and bars) of the area. Isabel is very helpful and accommodating, the full kitchen was ok; I recommend using that (get food from a market before coming to this island-meats,veggies,carbs) the closest market is located near the pier and the "grocery store" near here is minimal and a little more expensive. Overall good experience. Cozy, clean room. Amazing rooftop to enjoy the...
