a disappointing experience, and really shows the lack of care here. my partner and i came here a couple years ago and returned today, and two things happened. i ordered the same meal as my partner, except i don’t eat meat, so asked the waiter to sub out the bacon for anything else, and he said guacamole. i said sure - as long as it’s replaced since it’s expensive of a meal. he brings me the check, and i see that im charged for both meals, and a side of guacamole. i bring it up, especially because on the receipt it shows the two items, one with bacon, at the same price, and one without 🧐🧐. the economics don’t make sense - how are two items the same with one less?? it does not matter if the management finds it annoying - it’s 2025 there should be vegetarian alternatives to meat, period. he said nothing he can do because of the management -
this conversation with the waiter happens AFTER another waiter dropped a tray and hot sauce, coffee, etc fell on the ground and splashed my partner and i, both wearing white shirts. they… said sorry of course… but did not.. even offer any sorry, discount to the bill. 🤯🤯🤯
what a weird, uncomfortable experience on vieques. y soy puertoriqueño tambien - not cool. not kind. cannot believe there was no change to the bill after BOTH of these things.
this would never happen at any other restaurant ranked 4.5...

The lattes are served in bowl-like mugs topped with perfect foam that looks too beautiful to drink. Breakfast is fresh, made with local bread, eggs, etc. and simply and perfectly cooked. Cools breezes blow through from the front door to the courtyard. The ceilings are high and airy.
What really makes this place perfect however is the people. Sunny and kind and good-humored and welcoming. I rarely go to the same place twice while traveling. I’m always eager to try something new. But we ate here every morning of our Vieques vacation. They remembered my name. They offered advice on how we might like to spend the day. Our waitress shared fresh fruit with us out of her garden. Nothing is rushed here. So if you are in a big hurry, maybe try somewhere else.
But if you are looking for a beautiful place to sit awhile, to enjoy some local art, a cool breeze, lovely people and the best fresh breakfast you can imagine, this is your place. I’m at the airport, waiting for a flight and missing...
Read moreRidiculously long and unjustifiable wait for eggs and French toast. I get the food is supposed to be fresh but we waited on the line a while and then waited at the table even longer. Another group was going to walk out because they waited so long and had a plane to catch. We weren’t starving but over an hour and a half for breakfast is odd. We asked how much longer was the wait and they still had 2 or 3 tables ahead of us but she said our French toast is in the pan. It finally came and I still had 2 wait another 8 mins for my dish. I got the omelette with lechón asao (too much fatty lechón) and the bacon we got in the side was 2 pieces and 1 was pure fat. Would not recommend for what we paid but I’m happy the experience of others was better. Edit due to business response: This is all strictly my experience and it’s sad that a restaurant would offensively attack back instead of recognizing not all things are for all people. Further, the number of tables you served is not the customer’s concern, that’s on you if you are serving so many tables ppl have to wait close to an hour...
