Vieques is a stunning island, but if you're visiting for just a short trip, time can be limited, especially if you need to catch the evening ferry back. We hired a taxi service (contact details in the attached photo) and had a great experience with Ericson, who not only provided reliable transportation but also guided us throughout the trip.
Our first stop was the breathtaking Caracas Beach, known for its pristine white sand—just be sure to leave before 6 PM, as it closes then. From there, we headed to Esperanza, where we enjoyed a beautiful sunset and a charming boardwalk. For dinner, we dined at Duffy's, a lovely oceanfront restaurant with delicious food. Later in the evening, we used the same taxi service to catch the last ferry back.
Overall, it was a memorable experience, and we spent around $60 on taxi fares for all three...

Would give this place zero stars if I could. We paid in advance to get on the ferry at 430 am. We were told to arrive at 330. We sat in front of the gate until a security guard came at 0450. There are no signs posted saying it is a second gate, but he told us there was a primary gate. The gps took us to the second one and there are no signs pointing to a primary gate. When we finally made it to the dock, we tried to ask for paid tickets on the next ferry since we missed our time due to no fault of our own. We were simply told we weren’t there on time. We were then told the next ferry wouldn’t leave until 830. Needless to say we left. This was absolutely ridiculous, disorganized, and staff made no effort to rectify the situation. The other reviews were spot on. 10/10 would...
Read morePlease be advised that the actual departure time is not the scheduled departure time on your ticket. Our ferry left 40 minutes prior to the scheduled departure time, and the following ferry left 15 minutes after its scheduled departure time. Unfortunately this resulted in $1,500.00 extra expense to purchase a new flight and book a hotel for the night due to the missed flight. This was a very expensive lesson learned, and I would have been more willing to spend the $400 on the flight to get to the island had I known. That being said, the ride itself was smooth over the water and only had about 15 other passengers so it wasn’t...
