Bravo Beach Hotel||We stayed at Bravo beach hotel for 3 nights. It is in walking distance of the town center, near to a few restaurants and grocery shops. Maybe at most 1,500 feet from the ferry. The hotel was much better than we expected. The grounds are all white, clean and nicely landscaped, lots of plants, trees, flowers. Two pools, one right on the ocean, the other in an inner garden with a bar-style high table under a canopy area. We took an upper floor apartment for 3 nights, which was perfect. The bay windows and the balcony door were sound-proof which is key to help reduce the ocean surf, as well as a few wild roosters singing early in the morning. There is a large bedroom, some chairs, a small but sufficient bathroom with family-size shower stall, and a good sized balcony overlooking the pool and the ocean. The room was very clean, shower worked well with a good amount of hot water and sanitary. A medium-size refrigerator, and drip coffee maker. The owners and managers were very helpful, assisted with our plans. ||Getting around Vieques was a bit challenging as we gave up our golf cart on the first day due to its tipping over very easily. We looked for a taxi at the ferry and met Leon who got use around the island while we were there. He was highly reliable, and we highly recommend him as driver, tour guide, etc. ||For restaurants we went to El Norte, had to wait 30 minutes but was worth it.. Had their seafood paella. Went to El Mar Azul for lunch which was fine; but for dinner we found it too loud, and don’t care for the techno music. We visited a few beaches, the nearby Sea Glass was good for a short swim; other beaches we explored were beautiful and good for swimming but not snorkeling (Caracas, Esperanza). We noticed sea turtle nests in many places that are marked (rocks, tape); please avoid stepping on them.||Overall Bravo Beach Hotel was an excellent place to stay and we would stay there again on...
Read moreI recently stayed at the Bravo Beach Hotel and had an incredible experience. This hotel is by far the best on the island. The pool is perfectly situated next to a beautiful beach, making it an ideal spot to relax under palm trees and enjoy a good book. Please note that due to a rocky shore, swimming in the ocean here might not be the best option.
The hotel has two pools, one of which is open until 8pmdaily, while the courtyard pool is open 24 hours. They provide beach chairs and coolers, and you can rent an umbrella for $15 per day or $40 for your entire visit.
For our honeymoon, we stayed in the La Luna de Miel Suite, which offers a breathtaking 180-degree view of the ocean. I highly recommend this suite for a special occasion.
However, there are a few things to be aware of: Rent a Jeep as soon as possible because the roads are rough, and the hotel is set back from town. It's essential if you plan to travel around the island.
If you're interested in activities like the Biobay tour or snorkeling, Black Beard is the best vendor. They are close, offer excellent service, and often provide transportation for your tours.
Be prepared for lukewarm water as there is no hot water at the hotel. If you're looking for hot water, you can use the outdoor shower on the ground floor.
Housekeeping is by request, so don't forget to ask for it during your stay. We requested housekeeping service midway through our week-long stay.
Be prepared for "island time." Plan no more than one major activity a day, especially during the off-season when finding breakfast can be time-consuming.
Overall, our stay at the Bravo Beach Hotel was a once-in-a-lifetime experience, and I highly...
Read moreGreat little boutique hotel! We stayed here for 3 nights - in the upper ocean view room. It was a beautiful room - modern interior, private balcony, and incredible view of the ocean and pool below. Plenty of room with a queen bed, chairs, closet, safe, refrigerator, tv, large bathroom, and balcony. The staff was super friendly upon arrival, giving us a full tour of the grounds and showing us our room. We were a little bummed that there was not much to do around this hotel - for the most part you can walk to the town of Isabel nearby, but if we go back to Vieques we would stay in Esperanza. You cannot swim off the beach in front of the hotel as it is rocky, but they do have two pools. We were happy to find that they had beach chairs, snorkel gear, and coolers available for guests to use. They also had a complimentary breakfast which included coffee, tea, fruit, cereal, and hard boiled eggs.
They lost 1 star because the wifi was horrible. The website advertised free wifi, which for us is really important because we work remotely. I confirmed with the staff when we arrived, prior to signing paperwork, and they said we would have access in our room, with the strongest signal being in the plaza outside. There was NO service in our room, and two of the days it rained so getting wifi in the plaza outdoors was impossible unless we wanted to ruin our macbooks. There's also barely any cell phone service on the island, so without wifi we could not communicate with clients or family.
Otherwise, it was a great hotel and we would recommend for those who are looking to just disconnect and escape...
