We just returned from a wonderful trip to Islamorada and LOVED this place. We were in Villa 21 and we were steps from the beach and both pools. I think it was the best villa in the resort. The kitchen is very well stocked and 3 bedrooms very spacious along with a bunk room for the kids. We enjoyed stand up paddle boards, the pickleball court and rented a boat for the week. It was incredible to have the boat right outside the villa, so convenient. We had a couple of issues with the TV (our fault) and there was someone to help us within minutes. The cove you are in is perfect for little kids as it is very calm and shallow (stay away from some rocky areas though). The sunrise and sunset are beautiful - maybe this is everywhere in the Keys, but this was our first time. The ONLY reason I give this a 4 star is the lack of amenities. For the price you are paying the bar and food service should be more expansive. They do not have a liquor license, just beer and wine so daiquiri’s are made from sake? When I emailed the Concerige in advance of our stay, they were helpful, but just gave suggestions and did not help book. They do not have regular exercise classes, but do have a gym and had 1 pop up class when we were there. There is not a spa either, but they can help arrange for someone to come to you. I do not need all of this, but for the price you are paying it is expected at other resorts. I found the staff to be very friendly and helpful when we were there so the 4 star on service is more from the lack of amenities and help in booking. Oly, the beach attendant, was so friendly and helpful and always had a smile on his face. The villa is 3 stories high. Ours did not have an elevator, but I do think some do. If you are traveling with people who have trouble with stairs, this could be a problem but was not for us. One last thing - the patios on every floor are AMAZING. Very large patios where you wake up to this amazing ocean view with beautiful colors in the sky! Overall we love this place, if you have little kids, I do not think you could ask for better.

Five-Star Review: Islands of Islamorada The Islands of Islamorada is a true gem nestled in the heart of the Florida Keys. As a real estate agent, I had the privilege of touring this stunning property with a client, and I was thoroughly impressed with every aspect of this exclusive, gated resort community. Located just off the Old Highway at Mile Marker 82.7, this enclave perfectly combines luxury, privacy, and investment potential. The gleaming white architecture of the 22 stand-alone villas and Ocean House suites is a striking contrast against the lush landscaping of mature coconut palms and vibrant bougainvillea. The serene Atlantic Ocean views and the private beach access make this a paradise for those seeking both relaxation and adventure. Each villa is thoughtfully designed to maximize outdoor space while maintaining privacy, making it ideal for multi-generational vacations or high-end rentals. The interiors exude seaside chic elegance, with light-filled spaces that perfectly frame the surrounding ocean blues and coconut forests. As a Realtor specializing in real estate in Islamorada, I was particularly impressed by the variety of amenities this property offers. Two sparkling swimming pools, a private marina, state-of-the-art fitness center, and pickleball courts cater to every lifestyle need, while the community’s private beach offers a rare retreat. For those considering an investment, the villas start at $4,950,000 and are eligible for vacation rentals, making this an excellent opportunity for generating income in a highly desirable location. The combination of luxury, location, and functionality truly sets this property apart. This is truly a five-star property for anyone seeking the perfect blend of leisure, luxury, and investment potential!

This was our second experience at The Islands of Islamorada. As great as the experience was the first time back in 2020, this time around was even better. The villas are first class accommodations and perfect for family vacations. We used the gourmet kitchen to prepare meals each night and having easy access to the Weber gas grill just outside the garage made for delicious steak and seafood dinners. While the resort appeared to have a good number of "residents" on site, it never felt crowded, in fact at times, we felt like we had the place to ourselves. We took advantage of almost all the amenities, including the pickle ball courts, the yoga class, the fire pit, the pools, the tiki bar, etc. etc. Last but not least, the staff at The Islands of Islamorada seem to have all been through the Ritz Carlton Way training. They are super nice, knowledgeable and are constantly looking for ways to say yes to any request we may have had. HIGHLY RECOMMEND this place for your next family get away. (check out the cool bunk room if you are traveling with younger children!)

If you like California living, then this is the place for you. Full of regulations, lots of rules, and the Gestapo knocking at your front door. Lovely hotel, beautiful rooms, lovely view. However, that is where it ends. All the worker bees are fantastic. The manager B’s are definitely West Coast. If you smoke, don’t bother coming to this hotel. We found out the hard way. The manager is a disaster. Which explains why the rest of her manager bees take their instruction so well. Hotel was empty, Pool was a disaster, an Airbnb next-door, blasting Spanish karaoke for four days straight. No Beach, no food, no alcohol at least not what real people call alcohol. The worst smell of sewer you can imagine. There’s a reason why this place is a Ghost Town and it starts with the general manager. I would absolutely not recommend going and spending $700 a night on this poor excuse of a want to be five star hotel. Oh, and check out is at 10 AM. Lol Not even a motel does that.

STAY AWAY IF YOU CHERISH YOUR HARD EARNED DOLLARS. THEY SHOULD PAINT THE HOTEL DARK BLUE! Not joking.

Edit:: By the way, it was not about the smoking. It was about the way it was handled. Completely unprofessional, rude and disgusting behaviour from a high class hotel. If the general manager worked for me, she would’ve been fired instantly for speaking to a guest in such a manner. You should reevaluate your procedures and perhaps make a better point of letting people know in a proper and professional manner what can and cannot be done on the property. Considering all of the negative points associated with the hotel, and the fact that it was empty, perhaps you should treat the guests that are actually there with a little bit of dignity and respect. Shame on you for acting in such an absurd, and totally unwarranted behaviour. You should not be in the hospitality business with this kind of attitude. At least not in a so-called five-star resort. You would never find this kind of behaviour in a rich or a four seasons. Unfortunately, you’re demanding those kinds of prices in falling very short. Nice shill review from someone who has allergies to smoke. Give me a break. I have allergies to...

We stayed here for 5 nights over Thanksgiving. Marissa and the rest of the concierge team did a great job in helping us plan for the week, book reservations, stock the kitchen, etc. We were a group of 10 with 6 young kids.

The villas were pretty solid - not amazing for the price, but pretty good

The beach was okay - needed boats / jet skis to really experience the beauty of the keys.

Having two pools was great, including the one that was adjacent to the bar area. The pool and hut tub were shallow (great for kids). The resort is small, which meant you either had the pool area to yourself or one/two more families. The bartender the first couple days (Edith) was very nice/pleasant. The other bartender (Lisa) was brutal. The kids would sometimes jump in the hot tub, run from hot tub to pool, etc. We appreciated that Lisa was looking out for the kid's safety, but good lord, was she miserable. She yelled at the kids a few times, threatened to throw us out and called concierge to complain. We certainly wanted to respect the rules and were mostly successful in making sure the kids followed rules (they are 5 years old), but she was very off-putting and we were the only family swimming. She then proceeded to complain about our "crazy and disobedient kids" to some people at the bar, not realizing that one of us was at the bar area :) The whole experience just made us want to avoid the pool area for the rest of vacation, but unfortunately the other pool was less kid friendly (deeper pool). The kids liked ordering virgin daiquiris, pina coladas, etc. We'd try our best to all order together, but much to Lisa's dismay, sometimes they'd order separately (versus the convenience of making them all together). Evidently, the 20% automatic gratuity was not sufficient for her troubles. And one day, the kids ordered some at 445 - the bar closes at 530, but Lisa liked cleaning up closer to 5 (another major inconvenience!)

I doubt we'll be back again (not just because of the wrath of Lisa), but I'd hope that the situation at the bar remedies itself. Beach bars are typically synonymous with good vibes and outgoing bartenders versus walking on egg shells...
