A Culinary Gem in Islamorada: Unforgettable Italian Delights

From the moment we walked into this charming Italian haven in Islamorada, we knew we were in for a treat. Our evening began with a server who expertly guided our culinary journey, starting with an appetizer that set the tone for the night. The fried mozzarella ball, encased in a delightful vegetable ratatouille and accompanied by a tangy marinara sauce, was a revelation in flavor and texture.

The main courses only furthered our admiration for this establishment’s kitchen prowess. My choice of the meat lasagna, a weekly special, was a masterful blend of fresh, hearty ingredients, creating a dish that was both comforting and elevated. My husband’s flatbread pizza, adorned with a variety of mushrooms and fresh vegetables, was a perfect example of how simple ingredients, when handled with care, can create something spectacular.

A standout dish was the pear and ricotta stuffed gnocchi our friend ordered. Served in a rich, creamy Alfredo sauce, each bite was a harmonious blend of sweet, savory, and cheesy goodness.

For dessert, the tiramisu was a classic done right, but it was the recommended sweet ricotta and pear pie (or cake) with its almond crust that truly stole the show. This dessert was a sublime balance of flavors that left us all impressed.

The only reason this experience doesn’t get a full five stars is due to the ambiance being a bit louder than I prefer. However, this is a minor point in an otherwise exceptional dining experience.

In conclusion, for those seeking an Italian culinary adventure in the Florida Keys, this restaurant is a must-visit. It’s not just a meal; it’s an experience that tantalizes the taste buds and leaves you longing for more. Highly...

An Unforgettable Experience at The Italian Food Company!

We had the most amazing dining experience here — hands down the best Italian food I’ve ever had in my life. From the moment we walked in, we felt genuinely welcomed, and our server Memo took the entire evening to the next level.

Memo was incredibly attentive, super friendly, and took the time to explain everything on the menu — even the desserts! He even hand-wiped the condensation off the dessert fridge to make sure we could clearly see all the delicious options. That kind of care and attention to detail is rare.

The ambiance was the perfect blend of fine dining and casual comfort — a place where you can dress up or come as you are and still feel right at home. The food? Next level. Every dish was rich in flavor, perfectly portioned, and clearly made with love.

One of the fun highlights: sipping espresso from the cutest little “Polly Pocket” cups — such a charming touch!

We’d heard you typically need reservations (and now we absolutely see why), but we got lucky walking in about an hour before closing. Still, we never felt rushed, and Memo gave us top-tier service right up to the end.

Huge shoutout to Memo for making this the best dining experience of our entire trip. If you’re anywhere near this place — do not miss it. This is one of those rare spots you’ll be thinking about long after...

It was our first time at The Italian Food Company in Islamorada, and we were really impressed!

We started with the Mediterranean octopus, which came with tomatoes, potatoes, and a light salad, so fresh and flavorful. The mozzarella sticks were also a great appetizer. We tried the pistachio martini, which was strong but smooth and delicious—not overpowering at all.

For our mains, we had the chicken parmigiana, the fiocchi di pera (stuffed with pear in a light cream sauce with honey and almonds), and the swordfish with linguine in a garlicky lemon sauce definitely my favorite dish of the night.

For dessert, we had the rum sponge cake (tasty, though I wish it had been a bit more moist), the dark chocolate cream puffs (my favorite), and we took some cannolis to go. They have a great mix of desserts imported from Italy and others made in-house.

To top it off, they had live music playing throughout the evening, which made the atmosphere even better, super cozy and fun.

Memo, our server, was amazing, super helpful, patient, and gave the best recommendations. Carlos, the food runner, was very attentive, kept our waters filled, the table clean, and made sure everything was perfect.

Definitely worth the visit! PS, they take...

A portal to genuine Italy! A few facts: I've only gone to a restaurant twice on vacation ONE time in my life - this place was it - and I'm not a huge red sauce fan.... but if it's good.... Stopped in on a lark and enjoyed a pasta dish with white sauce and ham that was ethereal - smooth and tasty. The other two dishes were steamed clams - briny, sweet in a tasty broth and octopus cooked with potatoes, olives and celery. True Mediterranean flavors. Great portions all around. Full bar, craft cocktails and a representative wine list can be found on both of the two floors of this second location restaurant (first is in Key Largo). The Italian-accented staff were on their game and desserts are both imported and made on the premises. There is also a mercantile store with Italian comestibles offered. Pizza came out of a Napolitano oven - quick cook and blistered. But..... here's were we take off points: despite the menu offering various toppings, the bartender would not let us custom order a pizza! We were told you must choose from the existing pizza offering son the menu but you could add toppings to those. If true, it's a poor business policy on every level; if it's not true, the staff needs to be changed

Well the Hood is on tour in the keys and wanted some Italian and went here. Well let’s start with the food: it was ok..nothing I’d write to the hoodies about. I probably should have got the pizza but I got the rigatoni bolognese..eh. The bruschetta was good gave you some on three pieces of bread that was it. The rigatoni alla Norma was good but again not writing home to the hoodies. The one great thing was the service! Mamet was our server and he was great! kept the drinks full and always checked on us. Even shared his story of coming to America ( he missed his flight). Atmosphere: it was alright didn’t seem to Italian to me. But it was clean. The Hood would say go more Italy 🇮🇹 spice up those dishes and keep the great servers! So my hoodies you can try the place you know I’ll never keep you from a food adventure. However The Hood will probably not go back. Be kind to yourself and your servers. Food adventure is out there so go and just do it!
