Taki Outi — Restaurant in Islamorada

I hate to bad mouth small businesses, but I really should not have ordered from this restaurant.

I will say that the fried appetizers were good — no complaints there. The prices were very reasonable too. Service was good.

However, the chicken we ordered was so bizarre; the actual chicken part was super thin but it was coated in some sort of thick spongey outer coating which made every bite taste spongey and not like chicken. It was like a 1:3 ratio of chicken to coating. It wasn’t a crispy coating. The Kung Pao sauce was very savory, and didn’t have the flavors I’m used to tasting in Kung Pao Chicken (and I order it frequently from different Chinese places).

The other dishes we ordered were lacking flavor and fell flat. I’m glad I ordered some appetizers, because they saved the meal.

All in all, I should have listened to the other bad reviews and saved myself the disappointment of a bland and spongey meal. I really hoped my experience...

We looked this place up and it had good reviews so we went to check it out. It isn't somewhere you would normally go when you are in a beach town but the family wanted Chinese food. When we first pulled up I was a little skeptical of the place but once we recieved our food I understood why the review were so high. This food was amazing and they also have Thai on the menu too. On another note I order and egg drop soup to go. It took a minute so I went to the counter to get it as I figured they would have it ready any moment. What I saw was they were actually making the soup fresh in the wok as I waited as I figured it was just in a pot ready...

I wanted to place a delivery order today 07/02/24 and was denied, and told “my order was too small, and my tip wasn’t enough.” I was ordering food for myself, as I don’t access to my car currently. I’m still a paying customer, paying for the food, service fee, and delivery. My total was $10, I tipped 1.50 online with $5 in cash, as always. As often as I order from you, I’d assume you would have known that. The way I was spoken too when called, was rude and entitled. My family and I will be taking our business somewhere else from now on, along with our neighbors...
