Pros -King room was very spacious. -Love that they are pet friendly -Front desk guy was friendly apon checkin and very helpful -Great location. (If not bringing boat) -Balcony view from room was great, chairs out there were also great -Continental breakfast was good! Just wish there were bananas or apples -Parking was great, for both the trailer and truck -Loved the aderondeck chairs on the jetty -Pool was nice, chairs were nice, (just could haven been scrubbed alittle better… kinda moldy where the depth tiles were) -Bikes were nice -Nightly rate was good -Bayside Gormet directly across the street- they have 10/10 pizza and salad, dogs are welcome too on the patio!

Cons -Boat ramp is terrible, all they would need to do was clean it and put fresh sand. Very big reason on why we booked this hotel… went 20 min away to a public ramp and dropped so we wouldnt get stuck. If you don’t have four wheel drive, you’re not getting out of there. -Enjoying my time under the pavilion and dissapointed at the concrete bags not covered on the walkway etc. just looks terrible. -Walking on the dock, looking down so much trash on the rocks that could be simply picked up by the workers. Not sure why every morning they don’t do a simple walk around the property to maintain. -Was so excited that the hotel provided paddle boards, but no way I would use them with that muck getting out to the ocean, and that storage rack area wasnt cleaned up once. Florida Keys Watersports company on property backed up their truck into the kayak and just kept going. A simple picking up and putting back on the racks could have easily preveneted that. -Florida Keys Watersports company on property, had a boat rental out, the guests came back in, the worker jumped on to dock the boat. I was cleaning my boat in my slip and asked the worked if he could handle docking the boat without hitting mine. He confidently responded with “yes” and a thumbs up. So I went on and continued cleaning my boat. I look up and he was scraping my skeg with the side of his boat and it push the front of my boat into the dock. I was listening to their speaches for the jetski rentals multiple times and they point out that its a $250 per square inch if you scratch their boats/jetskis..but when its my boat they didn’t even say sorry… -Called ahead of time to confirm that there is a hose to flush out our motor. The hose is not long enough at all. Thank god I brought an extra to hook up to their hose or else we wouldn’t have been able to flush. My last day, there was a guest using the ramp for a long period of time, so I took the hose and put it on the spicket inside the car port, (everytime we moved the hose to flush it’s never an issue and ensure it’s put back better than we found it. The worker came over with an attitude telling me I had to ask. When I moved it, they weren’t at work yet so there wasn’t anybody to ask. -Elevator was not cleaned once. Inside and on the doors. Inapoperiate drawings drawn on the fourth floor door… -Floor was absolutly filthy in the room. Shower curtain smelled like B.O. -Breakfast patio was fithly as well. Simple pressure wash would do the trick

Overall, I would stay here again if changes were made. If not, this hotel is on a downward spiral. It can be easily fixed with simple daily maintence. I would conduct a team meeting about taking pride in the hotel and it’s okay to do your job on your shift, also put their personal phones down!! Especially when guests...

PROS:

  1. Proximity to ocean and also had jet ski, boat rentals and more by the dock.

  2. Small place which gave it more of a cozy feel

  3. I stayed in a poolside villa with king bed and pull out Sofa and it had a kitchen which included a small fridge and microwave and a sink. We were able to make sandwiches and put food in fridge.

  4. Room was spacious and comfortable…modern and simple furnishings.

  5. Proximity to grocery store and restaurants. The Cuban restaurant right next door is Amazing. as well as the restaurant across street if you want pizza. Their portions were huge so one entree could be split between two people. There was also a beer garden in walking distance that was nice.

  6. Quiet and peaceful all day and night. No loud music or anything. Just keep in mind when choosing poolside that if you like sleeping during day don’t get poolside because there may be a little bit of chatter and pool noise but nothing super loud. personally we went by pool most days.

  7. We had a car port/garage with our poolside room.

  8. Rented a boat for the day and had a great time and the prices were reasonable

Overall the best things were the location and some amenities like the pool. small community feeling.

CONS: One thing to keep in mind is this resort is clearly suffering from lack of staffing. It was obvious the people that were working are over worked and doing their best under the circumstances. However…….. they were infamous for making promises they could not keep.

  1. Arrived a bit early and were told we would get a call when our room was ready but never received a call…. so went ahead and checked it after 4.

  2. Breakfast was bad. There is no meat or eggs or pancakes. It’s just simple like toast and bagels some cereal and nutrigrain bars and things like that. I got a bowl of cereal and an apple as well as coffee. The milk was sour. The apple was rotten which I discovered after biting into it. The coffee was stale. Needless to say we didn’t do breakfast again but instead went to Publix and bought fruit and bread and deli meat etc. made ourselves content.

  3. Took two days to get extra towels for rooms

  4. Took four days to get our room serviced even though I requested early on. I was told we were on list but still no one came. until I called again and finally someone came that day.

  5. Bring slippers or wear socks because the floors are not clean… I never really trust that any hotel has clean floors but your feet will be black on the bottom. I like to have some Lysol wipes and wipe the counter tops , toilet, and remotes.

  6. There were no towels by pool until I called and then I think a number of people started calling and requesting every-time it went empty. the pool was dirty the first 3 days of our arrival and then finally we went out the fourth day and it was super clean and I could tell they adjusted chemicals because I could smell it.

  7. this doesn’t have anything to do with hotel but do not leave anything out in kitchen like food or beer cans or cups because little ants will come out to play. that’s more of a Florida thing.

  8. Needed an extra pillow and they were out

Overall for the cons it was just very slow service and like I said it’s probably due to short staff. Just be prepared to call the front desk for things like towels and room service. that’s why my rating is like a in the middle because you have a great place but...

My husband and I travel every month , sometimes twice a month. I took my husband for Father’s Day 2025 and we spent a week here. After reading all the reviews, I must tell you I was skeptical but we decided to give it a try. Please know, we normally rent 5k ARBNB homes in the area and this was our 17th year visiting. We were extremely content with this “ old Florida keys” hotel. Our room was spacious , clean and had everything we needed. Our bed and pillows were so comfortable loved it! I’ve slept many uncomfortable nights at a Hilton I promise you that. Our dog had a blast! He was walked every morning and messed with iguanas lol The courtyard, accessibility from and to truck was perfect. Landscape and lighting at night was gorgeous. Skyler made our arrival perfect! Had all the answers and took very good care of us! Whatever we needed. Carlos was amazing and very nice to talk to. The morning young man at the front desk ( I apologize I forgot your name) was fabulous!!! Breakfast was perfect grab and go, “ fish is waiting type of breakfast” that’s why we are here anyways, so I didn’t care it was limited menu., but we never went hungry. I do wish , you did boil eggs that would have helped for those that can’t do sugar or carbs 😎. But it was perfect!

The pool was amazing, clean and water temperature was great. Sitting my the dock on the sand was my favorite thing to do best view by the rocks day and night. Plenty of restaurants, shops and breweries walking distance from the Rooms. That was perfect. Very very quiet at night! We had the best sleep ever in a very long time. My only complaint is the boat docks. We took our 23 foot boat and it’s not truly designed for any boat bigger than 18 foot. The drive to get to trailer parking it’s not wide enough., the boat ramp it’s not good for any big boats period. Boat docks are shaped diagonal and not straight, and the worse part no bumps of any kind for the safety of any of the boats being parked at the boat docks EXCEPT their rental boats, those have the bumpers. Let’s just say, once we managed to leave our dock space and came back that was it for us, didn’t risk leaving again at night too risky. And we were not able to launch our boat there, we had to launch it at another boat ramp. It’s tooo tight! The entrance to boat docks is tight and good luck turning a boat bigger than 18 foot around, and if you lift the boat motor off the salt water for the night, the chances of getting hit by another boat it’s HUGE! But that’s the only complaint. Everything else was truly perfect! Don’t let the negative reviews keep you from staying here. If you don’t have a large boat, go stay! You will not be...

I am an avid traveler. A diamond member with Wyndham rewards, and a frequent worker in the key. I have never been more dissapointed in a hotel, and I have stayed at 1 star super 8s with a more pleasant experience. After being in bed for an hour and a half I was woken by a bed bug under my nail from scratching. When I called the front desk I was assured that someone had been sleeping in the room every day that week and there were no bed bugs. He said he would be the judge, and upon arrival quickly agreed they were bed bugs. He offered me a new room he said he checked over, and it being 2am and having to wake early, and well quite frankly not having another 250 dollars for another hotel, I accepted. The next day I called to speak with a manager about the incident. I was alarmed when her reaction was her being clueless that anything happened. Did this mean the room wasn't even being treated? Could someone else be in it?? I never got any resolution so I decided to open a customer care complaint. After a week I was notified that the hotel claimed there were no bugs, and they had directly contacted me. Although I had sent several polite emails, I never heard back. I then called and spoke with a manager Sherri. She hung up with me, called the owners, promptly called me back and informed me that on tuesday the following week, the points I used for my stay would be reimbursed. Today it has been over a week so I called her back. She told me the owners changed their mind, and since I opted out of staying in the bug infested room, and accepted a new room, that they will not refund my points. I'm shocked and disgusted, but mostly dissapointed. Everything happens for a reason and I was meant to take my business stays elsewhere. Just be aware! It is not worth the scars! I checked the mattress, and it had a cover. I just didn't notice there was a hole in it. Better off spending your money somewhere with local owners who appreciate you staying.
