i go to check in. clerk: “we may not have the room you reserved, but I can give you a worse room for the same price.” me: “but i have a reservation.” clerk: “we only have one cleaning person today so the rooms didn’t get clean... oh wait. it looks like we already gave you a room. here’s the key. let me know if it’s dirty.” i go to the nonsmoking room which smells like smoke. we login to the wifi using the password provided and get a “no internet connection” message. i go back to request some air freshener—and they don’t have any—and to ask about the wifi. she says she’ll call her boss. a few hours later the internet comes on. The door doesn’t stay closed on exiting, numerous times we would have to go back and re-close it. i leave to go get food. when i get back, both parking spots in front of my room are taken. in fact all parking spots on that side of the building are taken. and my key doesn’t work. Eventually the key does start working. I go ask about parking and am told i can park on the other side of the building. the air conditioner rattles like a shopping cart with a broken wheel going down a gravel road. Whenever it would turn in we thought it was housekeeping rolling a cart down the sidewalk. which is not a pleasant way to wake up multiple times per night because you always think you’ve overslept. every couple of hours the tv turns itself off. the shower has a massage wand that leaks. at 8:30 the next morning I go to eat breakfast (which is served until 9) and all the hot food is gone. i wait 20 minutes hoping in vain someone will do their job. They never do. i settle for buying a danish at a convenience store and going back to my room and heating it up in a microwave that was cobbled together from other microwaves going back to probably about 1988. This is one with an old fashioned rotating timer that can’t possibly give you an accurate time. And the rotating tray doesn’t fit on the wheels, which in turn don’t fit in the track. We leave for lunch, and when we get back we have to park about 100 yards from our room again. (In fact, we never were able to park reasonably close to our room the entire time). the keys didn’t work again and we had to go to the clerk to have them reset. The next morning we didn’t even bother trying to eat breakfast, and my key stopped working while I was packing and loading up the car. I am happy to report that the toilet worked without incident, and none of the furniture broke. Other than that, I don’t think anything else ever worked properly. I reported all of the problems we were having to the front desk and no resolution or compensation was offered. I also filed numerous complaints on the website—both before and after check out—which were all ignored. All subsequent attempts for resolution have also been ignored. Their website makes it borderline impossible to post reviews on their site. Note that I waited 5 days for someone to respond to my complaints before posting this review. I truly gave them every opportunity to...
Read moreThis used to be my favorite property in Jackson for the value precovid. I am not sure if it is new owners or what has happened. This will be the worst review I have ever written for a Choice Hotel property being a Diamond member and past Choice property manager for 10 years. The wifi would not work consistently in the room but would work in the parking lot. When you walked into the handicap room, you were overwhelmed with a variety of smoke smells and the smoke detector disconnected and placed on the sink. Your handicap bathroom still has the sawed off/capped pipes exposed several inched from where the sink was removed to make room for the shower. As diamond members, we asked for a late check out and was told noon, which was appreciated. At 11:25 am a lady opened the door, stopped only by the security latch, yelling into us to leave now in a heavy accent. We told her we had requested a noon check out. She said a few things we didn't understand and then clearly stated that she would return. As we were loading the van at 11:50 am, she began banging on the door again, so we told her from the parking lot that we were finished with the room. If the front desk had told us we could not have stayed until noon, we would have left promptly at 11 am. When going down for breakfast at 8am, we were told that it was not offered, coffee only. Is this acceptable for a Choice Hotel? We paid over $70 to stay in the lowest class room I have ever stayed in, without internet, without breakfast, and without peace. I highly recommend staying at the Clarion a few blocks down, no matter the extra cost. You can't put a price on customer service and this property has sadly lost the great customer service that they...

The house keeping woman began banging on the door and saying "you get out now !!"at 10:45 am. I explained about late check-out, but she was just rude and kept screaming at me ! Don't think she spoke much English. She banged on the door 4 more times before we checked out at 1 pm. Needless to say, we were very dissatisfied ! Will not recommend this dump to our worst enemy. We would really like to...
