My sister and her husband stayed here, they requested the handicap suite with a fully accessible bathroom and verified that the pool had a working chair lift for people who needed assistance in the pool. After checking in and going down to the pool we found that the chair lift was inoperable and that even the safety belt (see pictures) were deteriorated and fell to pieces when I tried to put it on. A maintenance guy who stated, “I really don’t ever do anything with this,” made numerous attempts to get the lift to work for over an hour or more trying several different batteries and such then calling his supervisor before rendering the lift inoperable. We questioned him if they ever do any maintenance checks on it as it was very apparent that it had been a long time since one had been done and he confirmed that they don’t because it doesn’t get used very often. Since he was unable to get it working he informed me that a specialist would be out first thing in the morning and the lift should be operable by 10:00 a.m. & the safety belt will be replaced before then also. Both issues were taken care of regarding the pool chair lift and safety belt by the following morning as we were told. Now back to the handicap suite with the accessible bathroom. Although the bathroom was beautiful and large enough for my wheelchair to make a 360 degree turn and there were ample amounts of safety bars in the shower and by the commode it does NOT make up for the fact that there were NO non-slip strips or anything like that in the bottom of the bathtub which made the bathtub EXTREMELY SLIPPERY & DANGEROUS as was the marble floor tiles on the bathroom floor which when my foot was wet started to come out from under me and would have if I wouldn’t have had a hold of my wheelchair to prevent me from falling. My husband and I have stayed numerous times at the Marriott Sawgrass and have always been pleased which is why I referred my sister to the Jacksonville Beach location so I was rather disappointed. If these things don’t apply to you then you will enjoy your stay because as I stated it is a...

Where did my original comments go? I filled out what I thought was my review, but I guess it was just for the hotel to see.

I stayed in this hotel in early June, 2021. The beautiful hotel is right on the beach, and the view was wonderful. Since the hotel has its own private entrance, we did not need to walk to the street to find a way onto the beach (as other places do). This was a big plus for us, as I spent time on the beach every day. We didn’t hang out by the pool, or swim in it, but we could see others having a good time there.

The room, including the bathroom was perfectly clean, and looked new (except the carpet was a bit worn), although smaller than anticipated and we felt a bit cramped in the beginning, but we got used to it. We had a bathroom with a smaller than standard tub, but we got used to that, too. The double shower curtain was great for preventing water from going onto the floor. Water pressure was great, and there was a built in shelf with large bottles which included shampoo and conditioner. My husband used the included hair dryer, and it seemed to be the normal size, no complaints.

We were in a junior suite on the 3rd floor, and the worst part of the room was that a comfortable room temperature was unattainable, one degree up and we were hot, one me degree down and we were cold. We kept adjusting it throughout our time there. We did not try to sleep in the tiny fold out couch, but it, and the chair next to it were not comfortable. The office chair was comfortable, but not for watching tv for too long as it didn’t have a foot rest, nor did it recline. The supplied coffee machine was tiny, and required the use of their packets, and we ended up buying a small coffee machine, filters, and coffee from a nearby store, and were much happier.

Unfortunately, we had a family emergency, and had to cut our 7 day trip to 4, due to a family emergency. I mention this, because without informing the hotel as to why we were checking out early, they informed us that we would receive a refund for the 3 days left...

This is a very outdated rooms in this hotel what's great about it is the terraces you overlooking the beach in some rooms The staff was friendly and very helpful we did have a service dog with us and they were great with them Christy and Christine are two people I would like to say thank you for for all their help however the elevator there was only one it's quite a large hotel The other one was out of service then we were inconvenienced twice due to changing of the locks in all the hotel we were told that they would be there one morning waited all morning because the dog couldn't go out it was too hot and we had to be with the dog when they came then the next day cuz they were running behind the next day they were supposed to come in the afternoon well they never made it to our room because they only did one floor in the seventh floors so that was an inconvenience and that was very annoying cuz the two days left in our stay we can't really enjoy it as we were waiting for locks to be changed that never happened then of course the elevator that was very very annoying breakfast is not free here they do offer breakfast and they do cook breakfast or have a buffet of your choice The price for breakfast runs about 14 bucks and up there is a tiki bar outside by the pool area and a bar also indoors opened at certain hours only but what is nice is you get to walk out of the hotel right onto the beach The sun sets are amazing The rooms were kind of grubby very outdated the rugs felt wet from the moisture of the heat humidity The bed I slept in had a massive dip in the middle and very outdated also The chair in the room had stains on it The bed that my husband and service dogs slept in he said was comfortable The maid staff was excellent if I needed anything all I had to do is ask so even though it's outdated it is also very far to walk in that heat to any restaurants or shops cuz it is at the other end of the beach more towards Neptune Beach they offer free parking which is great but again the staff members...

I booked an oceanfront balcony room for 3 nights while in Jacksonville for my friend's brain surgery at the Mayo. When I tried to open my balcony door that night, I found that it was inoperable... I called the desk and at midnight they had someone in my room trying to fix it.. but wasn't able to. The man said he would have to have maintenance do it tomorrow. I was exhausted from being at the hospital all evening and said fine I will deal with it tomorrow.. I then got ready for bed and discovered a Blood Stain on my pillowcase, pulled back the case and there was blood on the pillow!! The next morning I took the pillow to the manager and requested a credit for the 1st night. The 2nd day I was at the hospital when I received a call from the hotel telling me that the balcony door could not be repaired and to stop by the desk when I get back from the hospital to pick up keys to another room. So after a tiring and emotional day at the hospital, I had to repack everything to move it 2 floors up to my new room. I get to the new room in a different part of the building and find that the bathroom lighting was very bad... like maybe 40 watts over the vanity. I went to call the desk to ask if it might need a new light bulb, but could not call the desk because the phone was dead .So back on the elevator to go down to the desk again. The manager then offered a 3rd room and I requested that she go with me to check out the light in the room my bags are in before making me move again. She agreed that it was poor lighting and we went to look at the 3rd room that was suggested (which was not a King room, and the light was j
