So I was shopping and needed to make two separate transactions with different cards. I scanned my first card, entered the PIN, and the cashier said he would separate the transactions. However, while I was holding my ID and debit card in my left hand, the card reader picked up the tap-to-pay signal from that debit card, even though it was about a foot away. As a result, funds were taken from the wrong card without my permission.
I told the cashier that I had already scanned my other card, but he didn't seem to care and said he just works there. This situation is unacceptable. I wasn't close enough for the tap-to-pay feature to activate, yet it still took money from the wrong card. The machine ignored my manual swipe and PIN entry and instead took funds from a card that was a foot away. I started to wonder if the machine had a skimmer because I didn't realize what had happened until I was in my car.
If you shop here, be careful to avoid this happening to you. I needed that money on the other card for something else, and this was unauthorized. The cashier was rude, unhelpful, and showed no accountability or customer service. This has never happened to me before, and I often need to split payments between different cards. I...
Read moreThay posted Thanksgiving hours as open till 5. I was having a hard day and this was my last chance to get some food for dinner. Got there at 4:30pm and guess what? Doors were closed but manager was there with some people. I was standing and waiting. After 15 minutes he had to come to the door as some custumers were leaving and he had to unlock the door. So I asked why did they close 30 minutes earlier than it was posted and he answered that he had a bunch of stuff to do. he said - if you want to call in and complain go ahead and do that. Seriously? John or Joe, don't really remember his name. Just little dude in mid 40s in glasses. I guess he wanted to finish earlier to go home to see his family. Oh well DG, next time I will not rely on you. we all work hard. I had to work 7 to 7 that day. But my Thanksgiving dinner was of whatever I had left in my fridge. Thanks....
Read moreWas charged a dollar too much for Dr Peppers I bought, I took the ad and receipt back the next day. After showing the cashier Kyle the problem he told me all he was going to refund was 50 cent. When I tried to explain to him that I was due a $1.00 plus tax refund he told me I was wrong and that Dollar General does not refund tax. I told him to keep the tax but refund me the $1.00. He said that I was only due 50 cent and I was cheap and if I couldn't afford to buy the drinks I shouldn't have. He is not very smart as he truly believed that he was right. I told him that I had asked 3 different people and they all said he was wrong and he said they were as stupid as I was. Someone that talks to customers like this and doesn't understand simple math should not be working in a...
