My recent stay at the Marriott Jacksonville exceeded my expectations and left me thoroughly impressed with the level of comfort, professionalism, and thoughtful amenities provided throughout my visit. From the moment I arrived, the front desk staff set a welcoming tone with their prompt, courteous service and genuine willingness to accommodate special requests, ensuring a smooth and efficient check-in process.
The guest room was immaculately clean and tastefully appointed, offering a blend of modern decor and practical comforts that made it easy to relax after a long day of travel. The bed and linens were of notably high quality, providing a restful night’s sleep, while the in-room amenities—including a well-stocked coffee station, ample charging outlets, and a spacious workstation—catered perfectly to both leisure and business needs.
The property’s common areas, including the lobby, dining spaces, and fitness center, were equally well-maintained and reflected the Marriott brand’s commitment to a polished, inviting atmosphere. Breakfast service in the on-site restaurant was a particular highlight, featuring a diverse selection of fresh, flavorful options and attentive staff who ensured a pleasant start to the day.
Throughout my stay, I found the hotel’s location convenient for accessing local attractions, restaurants, and major roadways, which made navigating Jacksonville stress-free. Parking was ample and secure, further adding to the sense of ease and comfort.
In conclusion, the Marriott Jacksonville delivered an experience marked by clean, comfortable accommodations, exemplary service, and thoughtful amenities that cater well to both business and leisure travelers. HOLY WATER PRESSURE BATMAN!!! Seriously. The shower in my room literally had the best water pressure of any shower I've taken in my entire life. If you've just gotten back from a seven week jungle excursion and you want to feel as clean as you did when you first came out of the package, this is the hotel for you. It's that good.
The bed was also incredibly comfortable. I slept great.
Staff was friendly, room was clean.
Negatives:
The decor and technology in the room is straight out of the 1970's, with the exception of the early 2000's renovated TV, which is an LCD that probably measures 36".
I'm staying here for business, and I've grown accustom to hotel rooms having USB slots for charging ports on either the nightstand or the desk, and this hotel instead features phone jacks. Granted, there were power outlets, but many of the items I use to set up my "office" only have USB cords, so that was a bit surprising.
No mini fridge. This one came as a bit of a surprise, so I double and triple checked and confirmed it does not actually have one.
Overall, it's hard to complain about a hotel room that gave you a great night sleep and a shower that is literally worth writing home about. However, as someone who travels frequently for business, I've come to expect a certain level of amenities in a room I stay at, and this hotel comes up short on those.
My recommendation to you is to figure our what you value most in your hotel room and pick from there. If you just want a good bed, a great shower and some nice people to greet you when you get there, this place is for you. If you're more into the comprehensive benefits that a newer hotel can offer and/or you want a space that's more conducive to productivity due to technological features, you might want to find a different...
Read moreThis hotel is very beautiful and clean. When you first walk in you see clean floors and decor.
Check in was quick and simple. Staff wore facial masks and had stickers as markers to keep social distancing .
The room was very clean but a little compact , yet comfortable . There was a big tv mounted in the wall which was a plus!
The bathroom was clean but also a little compact . Everything felt a little tight, but it was clean! We stayed on the 7th floor and the view was gorgeous.
Staff was helpful when we needed help with the coffee machine . We did have a lack of communication with the roll out bed that I requested during booking . I was told upon arrival they don’t provide roll out beds for rooms with two beds because there isn’t room. I wish that was told to me when I requested it during my booking because there were 5 of us . Three of us slept on one bed it didn’t seem to be too much of an issue for the third person , but it would have been nice to know.
The other concern we had was we thought breakfast was free , but it was not so we went to a local Ihop to eat breakfast because the hotel breakfast at the bistro was a little pricey . The hotel wasn’t a cheap hotel to book, I think they could have provided some fruit or something simple for free for paying visitors, or explained a little better on the website that breakfast is not free.
Overall, our stay was quiet, clean , and comfortable. We felt relaxed and safe at this homely. The location is about 20 minutes from the beach which was nice but it was also in an area were didn’t feel threatened or dangerous.
I would highly recommend this hotel to others; maybe bring your own breakfast if you’re looking...
