It's still the Best Western, but now at Marriott prices. ||As best I can tell the previous 3 reviews are likely written by hotel staff, so I've brought receipts in the form of pictures. ||This property was advertised as "new" when I booked it, but after doing some quick looking online and within the hotel, what they've done is purchased the old Best Western, changed the signs and the WiFi name, removed the free breakfast and the microwaves from the rooms, and started charging Marriott prices. Labeling this property as "new" is disingenuous at best. ||This is certainly NOT a new property. You can see how old the rooms are from the poorly done patch jobs on the walls, the water damage on the roof of the bathroom from when it leaked some years ago, the baseboards coming off the walls, the wear/tear and stains on the furniture, and the cheap vinyl stick-on flooring from when they previously replaced what I assume was carpet -- but to be fair, from the pictures available online it was the Best Western that did the stick-on fake wood flooring. The HVAC runs often and sounds like a freight train, which is nice in that it helps block out the sound of I-95 located just outside the poorly sound-insulated window. The inside of the elevator doors are all scratched up and poorly buffed from when they attempted to remove the graffiti / damage from I assume was done during the previous owner's tenure. The room itself did seem to be overall clean and the linens seemed fine, so maybe those got swapped out during the ownership change?||The Delta Pantry is I hope better at other Delta-branded hotels, but here it just is poorly executed. A small amount of random items throughout the day. They do have cereal and whole milk, or even packaged instant oat meal that could serve as breakfast, but otherwise you've got maybe one or two random pastries (which are sold for $5+ each at the in-house coffee shop), some packaged rice crispy treats, Doritos, nutri-grain bars, a decent selection of canned Pepsi/DrPepper/water, and some other pre-packaged cold items such as hard boiled eggs or fruit. The last day I was here they actually put out some tiny pre-packaged bagels but no plates, just napkins. No real convenient way to "grab-and-go". Appreciate the attempt, but poorly executed. The coffee did always seem to be full and the brownies / cookies, when available, were fantastic.||The in house bar/restaurant has typical hotel prices but is small with a limited menu. The execution of the bar is terrible in that they've managed to put one of the building's massive structural columns right in the middle of it, so you get to share your eating space with a part of the building. I honestly do not know what they were thinking with that choice, seems obvious to me that you plan around structural building elements, but then again I'm just a pilot and not a hotel bar designer.||Honestly for a hotel this is probably just below the average, which isn't to say it's terrible, it's just not in my opinion what they've advertised it to be. The Marriott website lists this Delta brand in the "Premium" category, but I can honestly say that in my opinion I've almost always had stays at hotels in the lower "Select" category that were in nicer facilities than this, and at least they provide more service for the price. ||Would I stay here again? Sure, for the right price. It did seem clean overall. Just don't expect "new"...
Read moreCurrently here on a business trip and all I can say is this hotel does not uphold the Marriott brand. Flooring in room is broken, no tp dispenser in bathroom, found old, nasty water in the Keurig in the room that had clearly never been cleaned, the ice bucket had plastic grocery bags filled with water from a previous guest that had also never been checked or cleaned, I basically had to play charades with a housekeeper when asking for extra towels because she spoke no English, WiFi sucks and completely useless so could not work from the hotel at all on my BUSINESS trip, the body wash in the shower was empty so housekeeping took the empty and never replaced it, employee use the drive up check in area to park their vehicles and tonight there were two of their vehicles parked there blocking the entire drive thru area, no liners in the trash cans and no larger trash cans in the elevator area, the under bed lights don’t work and there’s loose wires, the desk is the height of a countertop with a chair for a regular height table, stains on the sheets, very noisy as it’s close to the highway, others rooms smell musty and moldy, ac not working in others. This hotel is a disgrace to the Marriott brand and I am not sure that I will trust the brand moving forward. FYI when I mentioned all of this to the person at the front desk, I was told there was nothing they could do since the room was purchased at a group rate. But he would add 10,000 points to my employers Marriott account which helps them, not me staying in the horrible room. Which of course makes sense, screw the ones spending more money on multiple rooms at a discounted rate....
Read moreRun from this hotel we had to stay here 4 nights escaping hurricane Milton they price gouch a night that usually goes for $100 and were billing $297 we had no choice, we booked a double bed room well the toilet wasnt working they had 4 different man coming in and out of the room trying to fix it with no luck they said we are sorry we have no more rooms we had to go downstairs to use the toilet awful, on the second day i finally got them to give me another room but we had to share a king bed thats all they had they said we had to take that to have a toilet. Someone told me there we will take 10% off your total and honor your 15% off florida resident discount which they have on ther website well guess what when i saw the charged on my credit card they didnt honor anything and had the nerves to even charged more than my regular reservation was, so i call them and they said they were going to take care of me that they were very sorry a few hours later the manager call and said there was nothing they could do. No 15% off no 10% off and no adjustment for the over charged. We will be reporting them for price gouching and i will be disputing this with my credit card. I had never had an experience like this with a Marriott or any other hotel and i have been to many, they shouldnt even be a part of marriott. By the way the rooms were old and nasty to be a Marriott. If it wasnt bc it was the hurricane i would of left as soon as i came in but all hotels were booked in the area by then. I even have pictures of dogs poop in the hotel main entrance door that stay there for over a day before someone clean...
