Inside of this hotel is nice- but that is where the good part of my review ends. We are from Lincoln, NE and travelled to KC as a halfway point on our way to the Ozarks for our joint bachelor/bachelorette trip. Upon checking in the woman at the front desk asked what kind of vehicle I had, to which I responded an R/T Durango. She then gave us a wheel lock as “R/T’s and SRT’s get stolen all the time here”and “We do have security in our parking lot at night”. I expressed concern for my vehicle, which was left unaddressed. We had Ubered downtown for a short time and noted a security vehicle in the parking lot at 12:30 am. Sure enough, the next morning two of my windows were broken out as someone did in fact try to steal my vehicle (security?). With hesitation from staff, we were given a late check out to figure out our next move and had to pay $30 for a doughy Belgian waffle breakfast. Which leads me to advice for this hotel: upon warning a customer that their vehicle is in high risk of being stolen, why is the first question to the guest not “Do you feel comfortable staying here with your vehicle or would you prefer to be transferred to a different location?” Had I been given that option I would have taken it to protect my $65,000 vehicle. Instead, I felt uncomfortable being there and ended up paying $1,000 to have my windows repaired on top of not being offered breakfast coupons for a terrible breakfast or even having our parking fee waived. Very disappointed in the lack of responsiveness in a terrible situation.

Nice clean property with friendly staff. $25 per night for parking seemed high considering we were not in a prime location. The room had only one issue, our window shade would not close completely. It was fine at night but woke us up pretty early. Which could be a plus if you needed to get up. We didn't pay for breakfast with the room, which would have given us a limited menu. By ordering separately we were able to access the full menu which was delicious and good size portions. The cost was only about $5 more than the option of paying with the booking. So we felt it was worth it. Overall good location, if you have places you want to go around KC conveniently located to freeway. But we wanted to eat in the powere and light district. It was not close enough to walk to the power and light district due to the steep hilly area. Also not close enough to the KC Street Car, although we did walk back from there to the hotel after dinner. I probably wouldn't recommend it as it was dark and somewhat deserted just a little scary. Plus again with the uphill walking. Ride share service was only about $10 to restaurants in P&L area.

Cannot say enough about how amazing the hotel and staff were here! I took my son on a surprise trip to KC for Monday night football and called the hotel a few days before asking about parking. Isaac explained the parking situation and after telling him what we were traveling in for I asked him if the hotel has an extra add on where I can have a birthday surprise in the room for us. He said the hotel didn't but he was so kind to offer to help me out personally, and set up balloons, a cake, and even a card for my son. He even got us markers and poster board to make signs for the football game! From the moment we checked in we were treated special by ALL the staff including Isaac, Javan, and Dexter. Everything was clean, coffee and water always fresh in the lobby. They helped with recommendations on places to see and eat in the city. Highly recommend this hotel if you're coming to Kansas City. I'd come back just to visit the hotel staff again 😌

Bad experience with reserving rooms with Hotel INN in Kansas City, Missouri address: 770 Admiral Blvd, Kansas City. I had made an incorrect reservation the first time being (4 rooms for 1 night) and cancelled it yet I never received my money that they supposedly “We never authorized it” though my bank account says other wise and he also said (Front Desk associate said) “ I don’t know where your getting $600 something from” and I had explained that it was the total of the cancelled reservation. So I was hopeful and decided to make another reservation because they said I would get my money back (which normally happens in all classes of establishments) and I was originally charged $600-700 something for the new reservation for three nights October 17,18,19 but this morning of October 21, 2024 they charged me instead $800 something after I made a complaint of not receiving what I was promised, that they would give me back my $600 something from the first incorrect reservation that I CANCELLED. Ever since I called the first time when I wanted to cancel the incorrect reservation up to now, I was tide with it being difficult to reach a front desk associate. The front desk associate told me he would get back to me since he had a “customer to attend” but in an ANNOYED TONE and I was keeping my calm with him and told him “ok” and he never got back to me so I redialed their number and received the same treatment immediately when he re answered the call, he didn’t give me the chance to talk. ( I had a previous incorrect reservation times ago with another hotel and I used the same bank card and they was quick to give me back my cancelled order.) So no it’s not what that front desk associate thinks happened. Please save yourself the hazle and don’t make a reservation with them if your prone to accidentally making an incorrect reservation because it would be hours and hours of trying to getting hold of Customer service and getting your money back.

Normally I don’t do reviews and never in my entire life have I had a reason to make a bad review until now. If I can save anybody from these experiences I’m doing it because I would want somebody to...

I had booked this hotel because it was closest to our conference. I used points to pay for the room. Booked for 2 nights. The room was a little noisy from the highway next to it at night. Only reason I gave the room 2 stars is because it was clean and the decor was updated.

On day one after checking in and going to get some food, we came back and as we were getting out of our vehicle we had someone approach us asking for money and was looking for a place to stay. He got up within 5' of my wife and I. I told him I didn't have cash and I didn't know of any place he could stay. I also told him he needed to back up out of my space.

I told my wife to start walking in. He started following her and I started walking toward the front door after him. He walked in the hotel as did my wife and I. My wife and I walked to the elevator and I kept my eye on him. He walked around the lobby and bar area. My wife and I went to the room and I went back down to the lobby. He was at the bar drinking a beer and looking at the menu.

I went to the front desk, asked the person behind the counter if the bar area was open to the public. He said it was. I told him what had happened and then I returned to me room. Just was a sketchy thing happening and we didn't feel very safe, especially in the parking lot.

On day two, there was a blizzard warning that came up all of a sudden so we decided to leave a day early so we did not have to try to leave Kansas City during bad weather. I went to the counter and talked to the person on duty. He said because it was past 4 pm he wasn't able to take the charge off for the second night, but to contact IHG, explain the situation, and they could possibly refund me the points. He was supposed to go ahead and check us out at that time...I later found out he did not.

I called IHG the next morning and they still had me checked into the room. He never checked me out, I was also charged another $25 for parking for the 2nd night.

Not a great experience and did not feel very safe. I would not...

We stayed at this Holiday Inn while we were in town for a college football game at Arrowhead Stadium. We appreciated how accessible the hotel was not only to downtown but to the Interstate for getting to other parts of the city. The lobby was clean and welcoming and our room was spacious and clean as well. We appreciated that there was an actual, on-site parking lot rather than a garage like many other downtown hotels. We declined housekeeping service during our stay but did appreciate the availability of daily housekeeping if desired. We only ate breakfast at the on-site restaurant one day but found it to be tasty and a good value. Our room was on the North side of the main wing of the building, which means we were next to I-35 and so experienced a fair amount of traffic noise (which is the only reason for 4 stars rather than 5). TIP: request a room in the South wing or at least on the South side of the main wing. Hand downs, the best part of our stay was Mitch, the evening bartender. We really enjoyed chatting with him about a variety of topics and he set a great mood in the bar. His playlist is a jam! He's also a great mixologist. I mentioned a drink I had had earlier in the day at another establishment and he set out to recreate it, with a stubborness and determination that was equally touching and amusing. :) The first night we met Mitch, he gave us a handwritten list of recommendations for restaurants, bars, etc. and every place that we visited off his list was an absolute hit. I hope Holiday Inn knows what a gem they have in him and make sure to keep him happy so he'll stick around. Overall, this Holiday Inn location is great and will likely be our go-to hotel in Kansas City...
