I wrote this to the manager of the hotel. I hope you are doing well. I wanted to let you know that Marriott is my preferred hotel, I have been platinum, platinum elite, and gold for many years. Mostly because the caliber of the employees at Marriott seem to be at a much higher level than that of your competitors. Usually everything goes smooth, unfortunately last night, I actually went to the wrong hotel. Amanda, working at the front desk let me know that she was pretty full but she would take a close look to see what she could do. I have to say, she really spent some time looking to see if there was a way she could get me a room. It was extremely late, almost 1:30am , Amanda carried herself exceptionally professional , courteous, and how that late in the evening she had a genuine smile that you could tell was sincere, was much more that I could produce at that time. I travel three to four days a week, almost thirty weeks a year, there may be one or two times a year when I have come across a Marriott employee that positive, helpful, courteous, and really, truly -- a joy to see as one of the first people you encounter upon arrival at the hotel. I wanted you to know it really makes a difference and completely keeps me a loyal Marriott overnighter. That usually says something about you as well, when you are able to hire and retain great employees, you are also doing something very well, so thank, very much. Have a wonderful Holiday Season. The room was spotless, and the young man who was keeping an eye on things was super polite and helpful...
Read moreThe hotel is located in a quiet and pleasant area of KC downtown on Grand Street, within walking distance to the Sports Arena Stadium, River Market, and KC Main Street. It’s surrounded by office complexes and business buildings, making it convenient for business travelers.
The rooms are not particularly spacious but are comfortable enough. I stayed for two weeks during a business trip and noticed that while the staff is friendly and the front desk is available 24/7, the service could use improvement. Housekeeping is done only once every three days due to staff shortages, and there were frequent lapses in replenishing toiletries, coffee, tea, and complimentary items—including bottled water.
Every room has Safe box, iron & board, hair dryer, coffee & tea pod, television and mini fridge.
While there’s a hydration vending machine on each floor, it doesn’t fully compensate for the lack of daily water bottle service. The hotel also features an on-site restaurant that serves breakfast (not complimentary) and operates as a bar in the evenings.
For guests without a car, the nearby KC Ride bus stop is very convenient. Valet parking is also available for those who drive.

Read moreThis hotel has potential, but there are some serious issues that need attention. It’s clean, the location is convenient, and the rooms are modern and comfortable. However, there were multiple frustrating experiences that took away from the overall stay. The hydration station on the 8th floor wasn’t working, yet we were only given two bottles of water for three people across three nights. When I asked for more, I was told to use the filling stations, which clearly wasn’t an option.
I also selected the food and beverage credit as part of my platinum benefits, which should have been more valuable than points, but it was nearly impossible to use. The front desk was understaffed to handle market purchases, nothing in the market was labeled with prices, and staff seemed uninterested in helping when I asked, even going as far to roll their eyes at me just for asking how much a few items were. Eventually, I managed to use a coupon on a single $7.50 can of beer, but it was a frustrating process that made me reluctant to use the rest.
Overall, this hotel gets the basics right, but the lack of attention to guest experience and poor service makes it hard to recommend until these issues...
