Tried for the first time today and everything was so goooooooddd!!!! Absolutely loved every part.
First the coffee of course- I got the Electric after some help from the cashier due to my indecisiveness; so many things sounded interesting and appealing 😩 the way he explained the drinks I was choosing between made it an easy choice for my personal preference and taste. The drink itself was incredibly flavorful and bold, but not in any way overpowering. So balanced and delicious 🤎 I added the mushroom coconut foam (think that’s what it was) and it blended perfectly with the other flavors of the drink. It was definitely the cherry on top if you will. I got mine iced and it was just the right amount of ice to keep it cold and not a cup full of ice with some drink. You get your moneys worth! You can also buy the coffee they use by the bag
Food- there was a good handful of bakery items made by local bakers and every single one of them looked divine. Next time I’m definitely trying the purple ube cake! There were also some packaged options like takis and ramen cups for something savory
Atmosphere- was AWESOMEEE I loved it. Bright, vibrant and very inviting. Quaint and peaceful with bubbly energy. It was really nice to just sit down and enjoy it for awhile. There were tables, couches, and a window counter. Would be perfect place for homework
Stuff- they had a great selection of shop apparel, bags, and stickers and other local shirts. The artwork of them all was so unique and fun and made me want it all. At some point I will snag a shirt! They also had a good selection of miscellaneous items from local AAPI artists like adorable keychains, stickers, candy, all sorts of stuff! But this is all displayed in a really nice way that doesn’t take away at all from the great lil coffee house vibe. It all blends together seamlessly
The only thing I would change is my greedy self would like a larger size option so I can have more time to suck down my drink on my drive home 😅
They also do loyalty punch cards as a side note and use as much environmentally conscious items as possible it seems
I’m so glad I tried this place I will undoubtedly...
Read moreThis place has ups and downs: Vegan or lactose intolerant loads of options for you. I have referred people here who are.
Caffeine free-pretty much no options for you and they’re mysteriously always out of decaf espresso. I really wish they had more options as they warn everyone they have STRONG caffeine.
Menu: eclectic and hand crafted
Taste: extremely sugary syrup drinks that are actually viscous and thick. The taste is interesting and I enjoy that I get to try many flavors I may not otherwise encounter. Some of the drinks I like. Some I loved. Some I absolutely hate. It’s polarizing. The actual coffee is not that good. I mostly come here for something different. The coffee does not taste like high quality beans. A lot of the flavors are very in your face.
Now, I do like some cuban cafecito and Italian espresso so it’s not that it’s strong it’s that it’s bad coffee. Matcha isn’t that high quality either.
Baristas: so so. Some of them are bad and get the drink wrong. Some of them are decent. Seems to be a lot of staff turnover but I think that’s just baristas in general. The owner could have a tighter reign on business for sure.
Baked goods: bad. Could use some work.
Cost: ridiculous. It’s just an off the wall treat not something every day. The other day it was 9.83$ for a drink. I didn’t order anything special or anything with exceptions. Non dairy milk does cost more but this is highway robbery and gives me pause. They generally have 1 size which forces the consumer to pay nearly 8-10$ for what would be 6$ at starbucks and 4-5$ at a mom and pop’s or 2-3 at home so….
Politics: Do not recommend this place to your conservative aging annoying male relatives they’ll be triggered . Everyone else will be fine. The politics are aggressive and unwarranted IMO but nonetheless the...
Read moreIt was my first time ever coming here. I came because I saw on social media recently the location was the subject of some vandalism. So I decided to come out and show my support. The store is small but the vibes are immaculate. The interior design really highlights the cultural lense the coffee shop operates through. They are POC and woman owned and operated. The drink choices are super unique and all delicious , I ordered the Hella Good, a Vietnamese Espresso beverage made with Ube syrup, oat milk and condensed milk drizzle. The Dirty Thai-ger, which is the insanely delicious love chai-ld, of Vietnamese iced Coffee, and Thai Iced tea. The Merry Matcha, which is their love letter to a holiday classic flavor of white chocolate and peppermint, married with a fantastic matcha. The one that stole the show for me was the Mango Sticky Rice Latte. My first sip had me like 🤩😍🥰 it's witch craft how much they made that latte taste exactly like mango sticky rice. If you've never been, please make your way here. Hands down some of the most creative and delicious coffee spots in all of Kansas City. It may top my list as my new favorite, especially for being such a third space for so many minorities including proudly supporting the LGBTQIA+ community. If you're gonna support local coffee, make your way to Columbus Park and grab a coffee. You won't be...
