I have been to Suite Paradise a few times for business, and I decided to bring my family for Spring Break. Compared to previous experiences it was one of the worst. Check in was fine, but upon opening the door to our suite (Manualoha 805) it all went downhill. We were met at the door with a heavy musky stench of mildew. Upon entering the unit we found that the bedding had the same odor. The refrigerator was filthy on the outside, the pocket doors were damaged and did not function properly, the toilet in the downstairs bath ran 4 of 5 days of the stay until it would no longer flush, the tile in the downstairs bath was significantly cracked, the washer in the unit only filled a quarter of the way with water, and the main couch when sitting gave to the point we were worried to sit on it out of fear it would collapse. We went to the front desk directly after observing the deficiencies in the unit. The most they did was brought 2 fans. We were also promised a call on Monday by 4pm (our stay was 3/24-3/29). We did not receive a call, so we decided to call the front office. The front office was little to no help, so we asked to speak with the property manager. They were away for the week so we asked for the person above them. We were told that information was private. I called again regarding the issues and was offered a 10% refund off the room rate, which was an insult to us based on the issues with the unit. I called back to the front desk expressing the importance of calling back. I finally received a call from Leslie Sherman who was nice enough, and seemed to understand our disappointment in the unit. She offered an additional refund of 100.00 per day off of the room rate. She also asked to contact her upon my next trip to assist in the selection of a better unit. Haven't seen the refund yet. I hope Leslie is true to her word. The owner of the unit should take pride and make necessary repairs since I am confident the unit has paid for itself 3 times over. It was slightly embarrassing to hear the grounds people at Grand Hyatt say "they must have come over here from comfort suites" and chuckle about it. That doesn't say much for...

wish i could give them 0 stars; the best that Suite Paradise could do was to write a fake reply 3 months later that my review is under google investigation because i'm a competitor... it's not under investigation by google and it's apparent how poorly they're run that they can't even look up my reservation for the time described and see that we're a real repeat customer.
original review
After staying here 6 times in past 12 years, recommending this place to countless family and friends, this place is no longer what first appealed.
Our latest stay was in unit 310, which had no a/c and was not advertised as such. Perhaps that wouldn't be bad enough, but it also looks like the unit is infested with mold and stale smell since it was built in the 80s. The ceiling fans don't go up in speed, the two included fans in the rooms were literally rusted though because they're so old and the unit is so swampy. The bathrooms were disgusting with permanent stains and the fixtures were literally rusted though because of the incessant moisture.
Now I would give this unit 2/5 because you could technically sleep there, but the service desk absolutely sucks so this is an overall rating of 1/5.
We called on the checking day to bring up the issues with no response to our voicemail. Next day I went to the office in person, they told me they were working on a replacement unit possibility and would get back to me that evening. They looked me in the eye, told me they have our number and would work on it.
Four days later no call back, this time an excuse that manager is out and to come back when we check out for remedy. Came there on checkout and manager not in, promised to call back. Five days after nothing from them. I was holding back this review because I thought maybe they'd step up and do the right thing but I'm thinking this place is just a total overall dump now, it's not the same customer service that they had years ago.
Do yourself a favor and rent from a competitor, many of these same units are advertised on Airbnb and you'll get better service in case you...
Read moreWe were in unit #324. 3 Pros Nice Amenities. Walkable to Poipu beach, the grounds itself is really pretty, Grills. Pools. Even a nearby gym with its own pool. Also very close to the beach, about a 10 min walk. Nice Staff and easy check in/check out process. In fact, our place was ready early and they sent a courtesy text to let us check in early. Nothing to do for the checkout process. Also sweet to find a nice gift in the fridge for us. Very spacious room. Large living area, closet space big enough to qualify as a New York studio, comfortable bed.
3 Cons It was an upstairs unit and it retained a LOT of heat. Very hot, it was cooler to be outside in the patio/shade than to be inside. It was very kind of the owner to provide a portable AC unit in the bedroom. That was our only solace. We would block all the doors from that room to trap in all the cool air. At night, you had the option of opening the windows (therefore it would be loud from the occasional animals) or turning on the AC but getting a little throat irritation. For reference, weather was around 87F high to 73F low...so probably safe to book if it's not as hot as it is now. Outdate furniture. This isn't really much of a problem because it was well cleaned. The only thing I was a little iffy on was the carpet. It looked old and had a suction kind of feel. esp. with the heat. I am...particular about cleanliness. My SO had no issues. Outside noise. Depending on your neighbors, you might have a good or bad experience. Our first night we can hear someone running back and forth in one of the adjoining rooms. No other sounds for the rest of the trip though. Also construction during the day, but I assume you'll be spending most of your time not in the hotel.
All in all, I personally would be ok to book this hotel again...in the...
