The room was clean and the bed was very comfortable . Great pillows.
3 stars because the front desk staff is less than helpful.
The young kid saw my I.D. from California and thought that means to gratuitously inform me that he's 19 and now eligible to recieve the Covid 19 vaccination. How that pertains to my visit and check in I have NO idea . He was so excited to share that with me it made him too negligent to check my name thoroughly which resulted in him charging me very erroneously for my uncle with the same last name also checked in to the hotel. (We came to town to visit my ill father) He caused an issue with my bank and over drafts because he was poor at his job.
The older fella at night- I paid $1.75 for a bottle of the worst water ever at the vending machine, Dasani. Put 2 $1 bills in the machine, received my quarter change but no water dispensed. I was just ripped off by the machine I go downstairs to the man and he dismissively tells me that I need to "Contact the coca cola company" to fix this issue. That was it. Quite rude which annoyed me even further so I let him know im positive he has a bottle of water back there and to give me one. He begrudgingly stopped watching whatever was entertaining him on the computer, went to the back office and got me a 12oz house bottle of water. I still have yet to contact the coca cola company about the machine robbing me.
Lastly, Claudia- It's my final day in the hotel. I'm checking out. At 9 am while still asleep housekeeping knocked while simultaneously opening the door to my room. Completely disturbing my sleep and invading my privacy. 2 hours later at 11:18 am I get a call from Claudia downstairs at the front desk- "Hi. This is Claudia at the front desk. I just wanted to know what time you are leaving." Excuse me? Huh?? I've never encountered such a thing at a hotel ever. Did you guys train this woman to speak that way to guests?? That is unacceptable. She made me feel like being a paying checked in guest of the hotel was a major inconvenice to her. There's a million ways to ask a question and Best Western has Claudia that doesn't know a single one of those ways.
The front desk staff was so terrible I no longer even mind the 4 guys from Georgia that were staying next to me in town for a job, returned to the hotel at 2am and was noisy for hours.
I'm very disappointed...
Read moreMy family and I made reservations for your property from Friday 5/24 to Sunday 5/26. We are from the St. Petersburg/ Tampa Area celebrating the 50th birthday of a family member who lives in the area.
On Saturday evening, we were celebrating his birthday. As it was getting late, my wife and I decided to come back to the hotel with our toddler and left her parents with our extended family to arrive at a later time that evening.
Between 12a-1:30a my in-laws were attempting to key into the room without disturbing us and the baby. They were having difficulty entering using their card. They went to the front desk to get a replacement and the receptionist (male, possibly Alex?) did not seem to care whatsoever about the issue. My in-laws explained the issue and they were only met with an “ok” and no attempt to create a new card or troubleshoot the issue, and just shrugged off the issue.
Is there no way to create a new card at certain hours? This response my In-laws received is completely unacceptable. I believe your staff needs further training in Guest Service, as my in-laws were not assisted in the slighted manner, nor did your receptionist even attempt to find a solution for this (very simple) issue. I was able speak with Alan this morning at the front desk, and asked for business cards as well as inquired if it was possible to get a new card regardless of the time. He stated it’s a simple process which could have been easily resolved. Completely unacceptable. Due to the fact your Team Member did not even attempt to assist, and the fact my in-laws did not want to knock on the door in fears of waking my toddler up in the middle of the evening (yes I know they could’ve called or knocked), and were left to fend for themselves and travel 20-30 minutes away back to our other family members.
The fact that the front desk personnel didn’t even attempt to assist and just shrugged them away is completely unacceptable. Think to yourself, would you let your parents take this kind...
Read moreThis stay was a disaster. First of all, the water temperature was inconsistent for the first couple days. On Wednesday (the 26th), the hot water was gone entirely and I had to take a cold shower in the morning. The staff claimed to have fixed it later this day, but this was a lie: the water was lukewarm at best for the rest of the week.
When I complained about the lack of hot water at the front desk, the staff member first tried to insist that there were no more problems with the hot water, which was a lie. I came to Miami for a conference and everyone else staying at the hotel was complaining about the lack of hot water. Even when I went to the front desk to complain, another patron was already at the front desk to complain about lack of hot water too. The staff member said they would compensate me by giving 50% off my last night, but this was another lie: no such discount was applied when I checked out. (I complained upon checkout about this, and the staff member working then said he'd bring it up with management, but I suspect that's another lie with the sheer amount of dishonesty I've encountered from the hotel this past week.)
To make matters worse, the hotel staff tried to give my room to another patron while my wife and I were in it. We were surprised to hear someone trying to open our hotel room with a new key. I complained to the staff at the front desk at the time, and she apologized, but didn't offer anything more than an apology.
I've expressed all these complaints to the conference organizers and insisted they never use this hotel as an official conference hotel again. This is by far the worst hotel I've ever stayed at, and the complete lack of concern (and even denial) about how bad the experience was is...
