The customer service at this Michael’s location is extremely disappointing, from cashiers to supervisors. On Sunday, I went to exchange an item for the same one in a different color, but it turned into a frustrating experience. Rather than a straightforward exchange, I was told by the manager that I had to return the item, then receive a gift card, despite having my receipt. I was advised to order the new item online and come back to pick it up when it was ready. I waited all day, and the item was never available.
To make matters worse, when I eventually requested a refund, I encountered even more issues. The cashier mistakenly processed the refund for two items instead of four, which escalated the situation. Instead of handling the issue professionally, the cashier called over the manager, saying she had a “situation” with a customer. It would have been more courteous simply to say, “Could you assist this customer?”
Adding to the frustration, new customers were allowed to skip the line with no regard for those of us waiting. This store used to be a pleasure to shop at when it was located across the street, and after 40+ years in Kendall, this was not the experience I expected. My daughter was able to make a simple return here just last month without any hassle, so I’m disappointed by the inconsistency.
Sadly, I won’t be returning to this location. With so many other stores to choose from, it’s disappointing that my neighborhood store let me down...

However, when we used the self check out, the item was not ringing up with that promotion. So I went and grabbed the sign that was still hanging over the items on the shelf and brought it to the employee to show her. She stated that the promotion ended on 4/29. Today is 5/6. I stated since the sign was still up, Michael's should honor the promotion. She just kept repeating that the sale was expired. I asked for a manager. She stated again the sale is expired. In my experience anytime a store fails to remove a sign for a specific promotion that has ended, that store will still honor it since it was their error for not removing the sign. There’s multiple signs up in the yarn section saying buy 1 get 1 50% and she claims she took them all down earlier bc the sale ended as if my own eyes are deceiving me. I can’t make it up.
