I'm giving it a 10, because over all it's a good place to stay. We felt safe, the beds were comfortable and it served it's purpose.
I'd recommend the Rodeway Inn, for the price, to some of our friends and family. The ones where price matters more than details. But, I'd still have to share some details with them, to be honest. It does have a reasonable price. It does have a good staff. But, the rooms are need of some general 'maintenance'. They are a little bit 'tired'. They could use a really good 'DEEP CLEAN' and minor repairs. None of the repairs are truly difficult. Just necessary to keep the hotel from becoming worse. And I hope that someone with power sees this post and gets a crew in there to fix up the bad spots and clean up the dirty spots. It does not need a lot, but it certainly needs some, and pretty soon.
Overall the staff is super friendly and welcoming. The Rodeway Inn had comfortable beds, clean sheets and is decent. For the price, we will certainly be back.
PROS: The beds are COMFORTABLE. We had ample towels, but no wash clothes. No problem, we used hand towels instead. We had a microwave, and small fridge with freezer.
CONS: In the morning, while doing the last search for anything missing, I was a bit grossed out to find an OLD dried up part of what looked like a hot dog bun that was very hard with lots of dust on it. And some sort of walnut looking items with a lot of dust attached to them, leading me to believe that it's been awhile since anyone vacuumed along that edge of the bed. I get it, it's narrow and tough to reach, but it was kinda gross. Also, when we walked in the room there was lipstick on the mirror, which I wiped off. And the walls between the bathroom and counter area had drips of something that was once a very dark and very thick liquid. Like maybe dried blood, or molasses. A few quick rubs with a wet towel, they all came off. But, I did think the who ever cleaned the room was a bit too rushed. These were very obvious things that should have been wiped off before our arrival.
The corner by the tub is quite dirty, and there was a really 'dirty and crusty' wash cloth still hanging up on the shower rail. It was dirty, like if someone washed their shoes with it, and hung it up there to dry, and the person(s) cleaning the room missed it. I understand 'hard water' and dry heat, so tossed it on the back of the toilet for housekeeping to see and collect with our own damp clothes and towels.
In general, it's a fair price, for a nice place to sleep. We'll be back. I'd be cautious of which friends I'd recommend to go there, but I would certainly recommend to...
Read moreAfter my earlier experience with the Rodeway Inn in Tucumcari, NM, I thought I had reasonable expectations for a good stay. As it was, this place turned out to be one of the worst hotels I've ever stayed at anywhere in the world. Please see the attached photos and descriptions. ||Arriving, there were a lot of guys hanging around in the parking lot near the lobby, looking for trouble. They looked like a biker gang of some sort. Going into the lobby to check-in, the desk clerk looked like he could've been one of them! The room was a disaster. The door looked like it had been repaired after the room had been broken into. When I got ready to leave the next morning, I found that it looked like someone had tried breaking into my room while I slept. In the room, there was broken and damaged furniture and the WiFi was not working. I called the front desk about it and was told that they knew it wasn't working. And, they had no idea when it would be fixed. I had to use the TV stand as the table for my supper as the table was very unstable.||As I was getting ready to leave the next morning, I saw a sign on the door of one room indicating that the late TV actor Martin Milner had slept in that room. Probably a long time ago when he was in the old TV series, "Route 66". Indeed, it was fitting for the town itself as it seems that Kingman is trying to trade today on a past that was long-ago. And, maybe wasn't all that great to begin with. Kingman has a very good Route 66 museum. And, while Andy Devine was a really nice guy, he wasn't a "star". ||To sum-up, I'm amazed that this dump still has any affiliation with Choice Hotels. It needs a ground-level up renovation. Starting with a bulldozer. They need to drop this place. It sets a really bad image for all their other...
Read moreOk, here it is a review of the Quality Inn in Kingman, AZ. 8-14-2016
First off understanding the Inn is on old Route 66 and is part of history, but here’s a list of down falls.
The Inn is excalety what it looks like. But when pulling in you have a condemned building next to it, the front grounds is not kept up as nice as the picture on the web-site on choice hotel.
their was some old vending machine’s that was broke down under the steps going up to the upper level from the back door from the lobby exit next to the pool.
Had to go to the lobby to let the person behind the desk when we checked in that the door is not opening. He was very helpful and explains you have to pull the door toward you when siding your card, and then push it open to get in.
Now for the room it self. When entering the room it was great. But here the problem.
Went to put some stuff in refrigerate. And found out it wasn’t working/ on, try’d plug-in it in and the outlets where not working. They had two plugs on the wall and one of the plugs was working which had the microwave plugged into it and the hair dryer in the other. So that outlet was working but the other outlet wasn’t. So had to unplug one thing and plug refrigerate in to it so it can work.
There was some mold in the tub/shower area about 2” long on the grout area right along the tub part.
The exhaust fan in the bathroom looks like it was never clean for sometime.
Plus they had some construction going on in the lobby area.
Did talk to the owner about some of this stuff and he said he’ll check into it.
Here is the final thing. They charged my card with a $2.00 for the room? Called them to fine out why, still no answer why they charged my credit card and...
