This was our first visit to this restaurant. I think the hostess/waitress assumed we were with the couple in front of us because they said party of four but there were only two of them there at that point. We were ignored for a good 20 minutes and just about ready to leave before we were even asked how many in our party. She seemed surprised we were still standing there after she sat the other people. If you are sensitive to cold air blowing on you, definitely bring a jacket. We started out with Chicken Satay. It looked good when she brought the plate out to us. The taste was somewhat bland compared with what we've tasted at other Thai restaurants in Arizona and Nevada. I ordered the Chicken Chow Mein and the other person in my party ordered Green Curry with Avacado and Chicken. My meal....was not what I expected. There was a strange flavor I couldn't quite figure out. It tasted smoky but other than that, not much of any other flavor. I know it's not a traditional Thai dish but I expected some familiar flavors like garlic, gallangal, Thai basil, even soy, they we're all missing from my dish. There were plenty of veggies but they were for the most part pretty raw. I didn't take my leftovers. The green curry was also very bland. It seemed very runny and even though it was spicy, it packed any true Thai flavors one would expect from an authentic Thai restaurant. Sure, you might think that a Thai restaurant in Kingman would need to "Americanize" their food to satisfy local tastes, but I was hoping at least for the Thai flavors you would find in a restaurant in Vegas, at hest flavors of Thailand. Thai tea was okay, not great. Seemed weak as well. I'm not sure if I'm willing to give it another chance, maybe for lunch when they have specials. I was surprised that being a new restaurant, we weren't asked how the food was. Unfortunately there weren't any handicap parking spots designated in their...
Read moreI do not recommend this place. They are competing against Bangkok Thai for pricing, but they are not even close to being on par with them.
The food was from frozen sources, tasted just like the stuff I get from my freezer. They overdo their dishes with overcooked/fried garlic to try and cover that the food was originally frozen. Broccoli was barely chewable, very hard; the chicken cooked straight from frozen, giving the rough and over chewyfeel and bite.
The drinks are laughable. $3 for a soda that gets brought out to you in a can with a glass that has ice in it. They couldn't even open the can and pour it for you to at least give the illusion that it may not be from a can.
The service was weird, to say the least! This older lady who reminded me of an older Dobby was constantly scratching herself while asking for what we wanted. She couldn't remember what was asked for and had to come out multiple times to confirm what it was that we ordered. When we came in, her aura was all pleased and surprised that someone was there. It seems like they don't get much business, which I can understand why.
There was an older lady working in the kitchen making all the food. She comes out when she's not coming. She seems nice enough, if you can understand her.
The atmosphere is uncomfortable. It's a place that was originally a house. All the seating is old, and the fabric is separating. All the chairs and tables are clustered together. We were there and there was only one other pair in there.
The location is not great either. It's surrounded by rental rooms. The renters in the area that were in the parking area were obvious tweakers. It felt unsafe to be there, and I would absolutely avoid it at night time.
Overall, I will not be...
Read moreWe tried this place for the first time the other day. We heard it was good and wanted to try it. When we first went, it was so busy we ended up going to a different restaurant.
So lets get the cons out of the way:
The parking spots are WAY too close together (not Thai 66's fault but a con none the less). Even if you park in the center of the lines, you will have to squeeze out. A great place to get dings.
The decor is severely lacking.
Seating is very limited. It's easy for this place to fill up, even with only a few guests. That is mainly the fault of the venue.
Staff is not the most attentive. We had to wait about 10 minutes just to get our menus even though there was only us and two other parties (8 guests total in the restaurant). They never took a drink order, just brought drinks.
Some of the dishes were a bit messy due to the shallow dishes.
The pros:
Probably had one of the best noodle dishes I have ever had. It was amazing. The food was generally good, even the spring rolls were really nice and crunchy. Good portions as well.
They ARE very nice and easy going. Despite the lack of attention, they were great when they did check up.
Despite some of the flaws, they are a new business and hopefully will work them out. I think they could use some lessons on providing better service as that seems to be the where they are lacking most. Luckily, the food is the most important part and they excelled in this area....
