Buckle up, I'm here to tell you a sordid story of hotel dread AKA Super 8 in Kingwood.
Our story begins with two sisters. Myself, and my sibling. We're on our way out of town and decided to stop here for the night. We were tired and full and looking forward to a comfortable bed after a long week of packing to move. Between the humidity that's thick enough to choke you faster than a dry Popeye's biscuit and the heat, we were exhausted.
They say coffee is a fantastic way to perk yourself but friends do I have something better! (Read: Worse)
COCKROACHES. ON. YOUR. BED.
We decided to splurge on a Jacuzzi tub room because we were sore from lugging heavy stuff into moving storage. For 158.00 ( PLUS A 50.00 'room inspection' deposit) I at least expected the room to be clean.
We checked in at 8pm. Went to the room. Dropped our stuff off. We immediately noted a strange mildewy wet smell in the room. We chalked it up to it being a Jacuzzi tub room and went to dinner. We were gone two hours and returned to the room. This is when we got a closer look. The tub had a RING of filth in it. Some sort of dust or dirt or something, the room was more humid than a Florida retiree's leather sandals and the smell was STILL there.
Whatever, we'll deal, it's just one night. Cut to crawling into bed to watch some good old HGTV before sleep. Not five minutes later my sister lets out an unholy screech the likes of which even the damned souls of the river Styx couldn't replicate and me, knowing she doesn't startle easily wondered if she'd somehow discovered a demon under the bed.
Close enough my friends, close enough. A disgusting cockroach was crawling in the sheets! I'm all for free love but roaches AINT IT.
We quickly get dressed, gather our meager belongings and march to the front desk and explain the issues. The man working isn't even shocked. No apology. No remorse. Nothing.
"Oh. I'll call my manager."
He does so and the manager says that because we "used" the room he's refusing to offer a refund. USED THE ROOM?!
From the employees lack of concern I'd say this is a frequent issue. We left and will be contacting the credit card company. So friends, if you're still here:

Read moreSo let me start this off by saying I highly recommend you don't come to this hotel to ever stay. The staff at the front desk are not professional they are rude and straight disrespectful. They are shady and they are thieves the man that we checked in with wasn't friendly he had a unprofessional attitude. My wife and I made reservations for this location hrs in advance so when this man made us our key and told us are room number. We go and find that there was somebody already in that room and that shouldn't ever happen. He had to see that there was someone already occupping that room. We get a different room key and when we get into the room it looks great at first until you start really looking around and you will notice how nasty things are. If the lights are off you won't notice the dirty floors and the dressers that look like it's never been properly wiped down. You can see in the corners of the room have never seen a mop and behind the couch along the base boards and wall had some nasty brown throw up caked all over and it was disgusting. The bed was comfy but that doesn't mean I want to sleep in it when the bedding and linen were dirty stained and that's unacceptable. I definitely don't appreciate how I started noticing roaches come out and run along the floors and when my wife went down to complain and ask for another room to change to. They acted like it was a huge ordeal and they didn't want to compensate us a different room to stay in. The woman who my wife spoke to at the desk told us we will have to wait till later. So as we waited I decided to get breakfast just to find all there was to eat is cereal and waffles. That's fine until I make my waffle and coffee and the waffle tasted expired and the coffee didn't taste good it wasn't anything like they promoted or like any of the other hotels I've stayed in. This place doesn't seem to care about how you feel when you wake up and your looking forward to a good morning breakfast. Read moreThis will be long but worth the read hopefully if not for at least the intertainment value. This hotel has alot of potential. Newer hotel therefore clean looking and room rates great . However we had many problems along the way. Are room reservation was changed to someone else who had checked in with same last name. They failed to ask for ID I assume . They charged us the wrong rate from the rate we had been given on our reservation confirmation . I'm assuming that was do to their mix up in our reservation. Which they did reimburse us for . Our room was roach infested...gross . Lastely our sheets were stained pretty nasty . Here is were it gets good. I was staying 2 nights and asked the manager if they could either spay or move us to a new room. We agreed to have them spray rather then move all my families stuff when we were to be out of the room for a few hours that day . Oh ya they were also going to change the sheets. I had been pretty calm to this point when I returned to find neither had been done when we returned. I again approached the manager and he had some lame excuse . By this point I was frustrated and expressed my confusion as to why in all this mess I hadn't got at least a sorry sir . His response was it was the fault of the other tenet that the reservation was screwed up , it wasn't his fault they had roaches , they couldnt give me a reason dirty sheets were placed on our bed prior to our check in other then they didn't provide full cleaning service for 2 night stays. and I could take my business elsewhere if I wasn't happy . Based on my planed stay we choose to stay and Idid get a room change that was a much better . But to make a long story not any longer Worst customer service i have ever experienced.
