Beautifully new on the inside. Rooms so new and nice I almost don't want to touch anything.
First star off - I stopped down a few minutes before midnight to get a beer from the concessions cubby by front desk. The fridge was locked. I asked if I could get a beer and the woman at the counter said they stop selling it at midnight. I said we still had a few minutes and asked if I could get one. She wouldn't. I was kinda taken aback. She had simply locked the fridge well before the posted time and wouldn't grab the key and walk ten feet to honor their posted time.
Second star off - They don't start serving breakfast until 7am! I've spent 10% of my life away from home for work or pleasure in the last 13yrs and in the hundred plus hotels across the country and world I've ever stayed in, I've never a hotel start serving breakfast so late. I had to leave for work at 6:30am, so it was disappointing to miss out on that value from the somewhat steep hotel room price. One day I did have an opportunity to catch breakfast and it was solid and standard at this price point. Best mass-made omelets I've had at this price point, I will say that. Iirc, they had all kinds of fresh-seeming vegetables inside. Like red peppers! When do you get fresh-seeming red peppers in your hotel mass-made omelets? They were fluffy and the cheese was nicely melty instead of the bottom of the barrel obvi-fake vegetable oil cheese hotels typically use. Anyway, that's enough omelet talk lol.
Hotel pool extremely small, and no hot tub. Possibly the smallest pool at this price point I've ever seen. The size of about 12 hot tubs. I was looking forward to getting my triathlon-training laps in if no one else was using the pool, but stepped inside to see the smallest you've ever seen for a $140/night hotel. At least I'll use their hot tub for 15 mins while I'm already here. Look around. Oh, there isn't one. $140/night and no hot tub even.
The rest of the hotel is extremely new and clean and fresh and it doesn't get better. Beds were slightly better than the Hampton across the street I usually stay at when in this area. The Hampton across the street has the best customer service possible. If $140/night isn't steep to you, and you don't care about a pool, hot tub, 11:55pm beer, or a modicum of customer service from a counter clerk, or having breakfast before 7am, then you'll think...
Read moreWe spent one night at this Fairfield Inn in Denver. It looks like it is a relatively new hotel, and given that fact we really expected a better experience. The bed was not comfortable at all, it was saggy & lumpy. Either the hotel got mattresses from old hotels when they opened, or they bought some really cheap mattresses. Whatever the case, we did not get a very restful night of sleep.||The breakfast was supposed to begin at 6:30 am. We got down there a bit early, because we had a very long drive that day. When there was basically nothing ready at 6:25, we knew we were in trouble. There were no bowls for the cereal, no hot food, the juice machine was turned off, and no muffins or pastries. At 6:35, they finally start bringing out a few items. We basically had to eat our cereal out of coffee cups since there were still no bowls. The oatmeal was cold and extremely undercooked, to the point where it was inedible. We never did see any meat (bacon or sausage), so we just had a couple of cold pre-cooked eggs on a stale bagel. No banana nut or blueberry muffins (the ones that everyone likes), instead there were dried out chocolate chip muffins. The cream cheese, while refrigerated, was rancid. Around 6:40 am the juice machine was finally turned on. We finally had to leave around 6:50 because we had such a long drive. Our final thoughts on the breakfast.........if the employees are going to move that slowly in the morning, perhaps they should start breakfast around 6:00, like most hotels. ||For the price we paid (over $220) for one night, we expected much better. This hotel looked really good on paper/online, but they really pulled the wool over our eyes.|Denver is a large metropolitan area....if you are traveling there we recommend skipping this hotel and shopping around, there any plenty of other choices out there. ||No need for management to reply and/or apologize, they are clearly aware of these shortcomings already and chose to do...
Read moreWe LOVED your hotel. It started when we walked in the door. From the automatic opening doors, yes there are some hotels that don't have them :( , to the large lobby with beautiful furniture and lime water waiting for us. Front desk staff was friendly and helpful and check-in was fast. The room was lovely - love the window cover and the furniture and bedding were perfect. A huge plus for us was that you had plenty of outlets for our needs. Our room (404) had plenty of light and the light in the coffee area was so helpful. The only negative about the open area was the air conditioning. The person next to the window got the arctic breeze and the air is too still when the air isn't running. The room overall was a good size for two people, we had plenty of room to move around when getting ready. Loved the lighting in the bathroom and the counter space was enough for two ladies to put their things out. Loved the double hooks to hang towel and robe and the curved shower certain. Thank you for putting the shampoo, conditioner and body wash in the shower - very handy and easier than trying to open little bottles. The only negatives in the bathroom - the tub bottom is VERY slippery. We had to put a towel down before stepping in. And not only was the toilet very low but the seat was loose which I thought was odd for a new hotel. The breakfast was great too. It sure made for a perfect start to the day. Loved the four mini-waffle maker and the two egg options. The staff kept the food flowing and made sure the counter and trash area were tidy. Everyone was friendly and had a smile! Sad to see that there were no tourist brochures in the lobby (LOL, yes, I'm older) but the man helping out for breakfast printed out information for us, which was helpful. Enjoyed the pool and hot tub after a day walking around Red Rock and Denver. There were always towels and the temperature of the water was refreshing. I would give this...
