Well we are still here, and when we leave it will have been a 7 night stay. The hotel itself is nice and clean. The housekeeping people seem to be very friendly. However as for the front desk staff i cant say they are at all friendly. Well there is one guy who i see mostly at night, hes nice and says hello welcome back when eber we came in. As for the rest of the front desk, office staff.( which appear to be all woman) They are not even friendly enough to smile even when ive walked past them. And actually when my boyfriend and i returned at approx. 11am we came down the main hall , the only way i know to get to elevators. Which we had to get to sence our room wasnt on the first floor. A lady was mopping. And as we approched her back was to us. I said excuse us and sorry for having walked on tge wet floor. She then turned and stood like she was aggravated. And then proceeded to follow our every step almost, to mop behind us... And when we got on to the elevator she continued mopping with her rude and irritated attitude. Not once did she even grin in anyway. Nor didnshe even say a single word to us. It was far too obvious that it greatly upset ger for us to walk on the wet floor. And if she could have wacked us with her mop she for sure would have. It made it hard to even want to walk back threw the lobby even just to leave. Very unconfortable and uneasy feeling from the woman who work the desk. Oh and from our first day til our last im sure. Theres been a child on the floor above us running and stomping constant threw out the day. I called the desk to bring this to their attention. Since we had no reason to wake up early one day yet we did because of the stomping. And the responce i got was, oh thats one of our VM's i believe is what she said. And then stated she should be leaving again, and they must of just got back to the room. But she should be leaving soon. I have no idea who it is above us. However there simply isnt any reason why they shouldnt be asked to have their child stop stompinh because its disruptive to pwople below them. Justvas we were asked to do somwthing about our dog barking while we were out of the room.. But that lady didnt seem as though i should even be saying anything. And it was obvious she had no plan on calling up there. This place needs to consider finding new employees. Most are rude and not at all good at their jobs. Its why we choose to leave and not stay another...
Read moreWe planned a weekend staycation to visit Dinosaur Ridge and Elitch Gardens, and we chose to stay at this hotel because we have had great experiences at other Home2 Suites and because of its proximity to Morrison and the train line (though we didn't end up riding it). The proximity to our activities and to food options was great. It was quiet and the neighborhood felt very safe. However, this was a much more disappointing facility than the other Home2 Suites we have stayed at.
While the other Home2 Suites we have stayed at were new construction buildings, this is clearly an older hotel that was remodeled for this new brand (smaller rooms, a bit dingy, no exhaust fans in bathrooms). Not a big deal - just not as nice and clean feeling as the other properties. Lobby common area, outdoor patio, and dining area are very nice and clean and new looking and extremely spacious.
The big problem was the state of the hot tub and, to a lesser degree, the pool. We first got in the pool, and the main downside to it is that it is way too cold - our youngest daughter didn't mind, but the rest of us were uncomfortable. The bottom of the pool wasn't as clean as it could be, but it wasn't bad, and the jets and vents all had a little bit of brown/orange build up on them. But it was passable. The hot tub however - I was appalled at its condition. We got in, and what I first noticed was the black discoloration all over the walls and floor. All of the vents were completely covered in rust-colored build up. Worst of all, two of the corners of the hot tub were covered in black fuzzy mold growing right down to the water's edge. I looked up and noticed that the large air exchange on the wall behind the hot tub was rusted, bent/dinged, and covered in black. I got myself and my kids out immediately. I informed the front desk, and she said it should not look like that and that she would let the maintenance guy know (he was gone for the day; pool was closed for maintenance in the morning). However, this is not something that happened overnight - that condition is from long-term neglect of cleaning and maintenance.
I love Home2 Suites, but this was disappointing, and I wouldn't stay there again. The staff were all friendly...
Read moreI travel several times a month for work. I have always been diligent about double-checking for all of my belongings. However, during this stay with my husband, I failed to pick up my tablet on the way out. Mistakes happen. The hotel contacted me, but it was too late for us to get back over to them before our flight home. I let the person, Taylor, know that we would have to arrange to have it shipped back to me. He later emailed me asking that I send a box with packing material and a return label. That was sent out to them a few days later. We tracked the package and saw when it was delivered. I emailed back to Taylor letting him know that I could see the package had just been delivered and that he would find the return label inside. Several days go by and we can still see that the return label has not yet been scanned by the USPS. After multiple emails asking for updates, I ask to be contacted by management. After several times asking for management contact, I finally heard from Robin Snyder, the General Manager. She informed me that they do not mail any left behind items at all. But she was going to make this one exception for me because I had already complied with all of the requests that Taylor had made of me to return my tablet. However, this was a lie. They returned the box I had sent as "refused" with "return to sender" instead of taking two minutes to drop my tablet into the box and sticking the provided return label on it. I have now contacted Hilton Corporate in hopes that they will be able to provide some assistance. At this point, I have no hope and can only assume that my tablet is now in possession of one of the employees who is enjoying a nice,...
