I was driving from Charlotte to New Orleans and wanted a break about halfway, so I chose this location. All I wanted was a good night's sleep and a shower. I got neither.
The room didn't smell "fresh" and the toilet tank was leaking, so that every two minutes or so there was a "hiss" as the tank topped itself back off. The guests in the room next door were really loud and unruly. I walked up to the office to ask them to just move me to another room and was informed that wasn't possible (even though the place was mostly empty).
I didn't sleep well. The guests in the next room continued loudly laughing and drinking and whatnot into the night. The bed was uncomfortable, the pillows were flat, the toilet was hissing, and there were about a half-dozen LEDs glowing and blinking that could not be shut off.
The next morning, after not resting well, I started to at least take a shower and the shower didn't work. I called the desk; the phone rang at least 20 times with no answer, so I walked up... found the lobby closed and a little window with a bell to ring for service; nobody in sight. I rang the bell and finally a woman came to the window, was distracted and uninterested, and wanted to know if I wanted to check out. When I explained that I had a real problem with the room, she snippily asked what I wanted HER to do about it. I just got my bag, dropped the keycard back off at the desk, and left.
I stopped at the Waffle House nearby, and the waitress asked how my morning was going. I explained that I'd just had a particularly horrific experience with a hotel. She asked which hotel; I told her, and she just rolled her eyes... she explained to me that it was well known to be the "second-worst hotel/motel in town."...
Read moreThe two ladies working the desk from 3 - 11, and 11- 7 are awesome. Very sweet and tried really hard to make the stay pleasant. This was strictly a business trip, and it was convenient. The internet didn't work for the majority of the time. Phone never worked, despite being told the manager personally checked it. So don't count on a wake up call!!! They do NOT take CLC (Corporate Lodging) as do every other Econo Lodge, so it will come out of your pocket business travelers. I did not participate in "Breakfast" as the only options were a sweet cereal, a bran cereal, white bread and raisin bread for toast, and two containers of yogurt in little refrigerator. There was apple juice in a pitcher also in little refrigerator. Coffee was out when I went to get some on my way to work, as there was a construction crew staying that pretty much took care of that. NO coffee makers in room. The most positive thing I can say is, this property was located about 2 miles from where I was working in town, and...
Read moreI recently stayed at the Econo Lodge in Lanett, AL. I arrived at 10pm and checked in. I found the room carpet and bathroom to be dirty but after 8 hours decided to deal with it. I went down to get Ice and found a faded out of order sign on ice machine, must have been out for a long time. I rang bell to find out if there was another and clerk stated that there is only one and that owner told her that ice is a convince and they do not have to furnish. She also stated that most guests go to convince store for ice. Again I had been driving all day and decided to deal with it. Next morning I found that the continental breakfast was a joke. I had a few bites of stale cereal and warm milk then went else where for breakfast. This is a good rest point in a drive that I make often to bad it is dirty with a smart a_ _ clerk. The building is in good condition and with better housekeeping, friendly staff, attention to detail and a little TLC could be a very good...
