First off, I would like to say that La Verge Apartments are nice for the price. They have lots of amenities and are always planning events. However, their management is where the problem lies. The original manager either quit or was fired, not sure really. I actually wrote a review on Google a few months ago, but it is still not showing up yet. I put lots of compliments about La Verge on that review because I thought everything was running smoothly, but I had second thoughts and want to take it back. I had a lot of patience in dealing with the problems they caused before. I thought maybe under new management things would change, but the same problems still persist. Now, the manager is younger than the previous one and does not know how to solve issues either. As a manager, you are expected to be able to solve problems. For example, on May 28th, 2019, I was trying to get into my apartment, but could not get in because they reprogrammed my key without telling me about it. I just came back from leave and needed to take stuffs in my room that I needed for work. I called the security/emergency for help but the girl that I talked to told me to have patience and wait for 30 minutes because she was calling for help. After waiting for this long there was still no one to help me. This caused me to be really late for work. I called security again, however, the girl that I talked to had clue what to do. I know I probably was a little upset at this moment in time, but instead of security trying to figure out a way to help me, they start yelling at me and then hang up on me. I ended up having to go to work without my stuff on me. I called the office as soon as they opened and talked to the manager. In the past, calling the manager at La Verge has done no good because they do not know how to problem solve. I explained everything to the manager. The manager said she was sorry, but as she said it the words came out sarcastically. She did not resolve my issue. I asked her a very simple question like “what if my key will not work again in the middle of the night, the office is closed and no one is here to help me, what you will do?” She said to call the emergency and there’s going to be someone to help me. Who was there this morning to help me out?! NO ONE. There’s no assurance that someone will help you! That situation happened to me just this morning and no one helped me right away. I don’t know why La Verge has these types of keys that need to be programmed. They should change these keys to the typical kind that are found in most homes. Another option is to get new security. It does not take thirty minutes to walk across that apartment complex. Most of the people working on this property do not even know how to handle certain situations like this one described. They are more about the party life. They always like throwing parties, but when it comes to problems, they do not know how to do anything. Looks like people working here just want to have some fun and not take their jobs seriously. They do not know what is going on around the apartment. Aside from that, recent issues, I actually want to say all the issues that I’ve encountered. There was a pool party that just recently happened where people were underage drinking and smoking weed, plus someone was shot here not too long ago. I feel so unsafe here. Why don’t you impose a rule when throwing a party like this? You should have security to watch people and walk them out when they get out of control. Another thing, since you just bought new benches, tables, and chairs, why don’t you also post a rule telling the residents to take good care of them? People always move tables/chair/benches, in the process damage them and make a mess. Do not always think about throwing a party in this area, think about how to improve the area when it comes to cleanliness. Every time I go to the pool, I will always see lots of trash. I’ve seen residents go to the pool to eat, leave their garbage on the table, and will not clean after they are done. Basically, your pool area is like a...

I live in a three bedroom floor and the room it self is great. It worked out for me. I like that each room has a personal bathroom so, you don't have to worry about sharing. You also have a good size walk in closet. The apartments are furnished so you don't have to worry about furnishing. The carpet was clean when I move in and some of the home appliances did need cleaning but nothing some wiping and minor cleaning won't it. The couches were a bit stained but were easy to clean and they look great now. All other furniture is in good condition and ready to be used.

I've read some reviews in regards of the apartments not looking anything like the model apartment. This is true in the sense that you do not find any fine decor in your apartment when you move in. That is why it will be important to keep in mind that the model apartment won't look exactly like yours when you receive your keys and walk in, simply because it is not decorated. If you want your apartment/room to look nice or like the "model apartment" you can do so by decorating it. Many home buyers/renters know the importance of focusing on the space, and quality of the home when looking at the model home. You need to elimaminate your attraction for the objects decorating the home and focus on the apartment itself, because ones you get yours it won't come with all the decorations that they used to lead you into buying/renting the home. That is just a suggestion to keep in mind if you're looking to live here.

With that said all you need to do is to add some decor and be done. I decorated the couches with colored pillows and throws and it looks nice. I have even received compliments and I didn't do any major decorations or spend a lot of money decorating.

When leasing, you complete a number of questions regarding your personality, likes, dislikes, pet peeves etc. This is to match you up with the people you will be rooming in with, in the case that you don't already have a group of friends planning to live together. This method worked out for me, I do not have any issues with my roommate and we get along just fine. They are quite and respectful.

There is a gym, pool and services like printing, scanning, faxing and computers by the office that you can use. So these are all pros of living here.

Some of the cons of the apartment complex is that there is some irresponsible residents that don't pick up after their pets and there is feces around the apartment complex. I don't understand why they don't pick up after pets because the grove provides you with all you need to perform this simple task. There is green bags available in different places along the apartment complex and in the case that they run out you can just notify the office and they will provide more. Pet owner also take the liberty of walking their dogs or taking them out to potty without a leash. I find this a problem because I do have a small dog and several other dogs have tried attaching my dog. Other cons might be that the trash overfills and it looks bad until pick up day.

I've read some reviewers complaining about the noise. I personally don't have issues with noise. The only thing that use to bother me was hearing the resident that lived on top of us. It was like a giant was walking. He was loud at walking and we could hear him come home because of how loud he was but he moved out and that is no longer and issue. As far as parties and people being loud. I have not experience that. Perhaps because I live in a the quiet building. I live on building 10 and it's pretty quite out here. I do know that other apartment a have parties and can be louder.

Overall I like the apartments and the setting. I am satisfied. Pretty much the only problem is the feces, trash, and pet owners walking their pets without a leash. Also, at the beginning I believed that the apartment complex would be gated for safety reasons but the gates are always open and I don't like that. I wish they...

I'm sure this place can be appealing for NMSU undergraduate level students--- but if you're NOT an undergrad and/or have a real job, you might want to find somewhere else to live.

If you're a future BCOM student exploring apartment options-- DO NOT LIVE HERE! It can get very noisy, loud, disruptive, and it's not a stable environment for a medical student.

I have lived here for almost 2 years now. For starters, all the staff are super friendly and really nice people. This includes the front office staff, the manager, and maintainence team. They will TRY do what they can to help----the problem is, there's not much they CAN do because the apartment itself doesn't have normal rules and regulations that apply to apartments.

Residents are allowed to play music through large speakers blasting in the pool area any time they want (except quiet hours, which doesn't start until about 10pm). These loud pool parties happen very frequently once the weather is nice. If you're unlucky enough to get a building by the pool, the music and noise can be extremely disturbing. And it's it usually goes on from 11am-7pm/8pm at night. I've talked to the staff, and they can't do anything about it since there are NO rules against this type of noise disturbances. You can literally bring a DJ to the pool and have a party everyday and all they will do is please ask you to keep it down, but you don't even have to comply if you don't want to. This is awesome if you're an undergrad/jobless/no responsibilities and just want to hang out (nothing wrong with that, we've all been there)---not so great if you're a medical student studying 10+ hours a day.

Maintenance is usually so backed up that it usually takes days to get work orders completed. I don't blame the workers since they can't help being short staffed--but it's a problem as a resident. It got a little better this year (2018), but it's still subpar in comparison to every other apartment I've lived in.

The Verge is supposed to have on call-security, and 2 years later there is still no security on call. If you try to call after-hours services for The Verge, they have no valuable information to give you. They can't even provide you with the number to the tow truck company if your car gets towed. Completely useless.

My roommates and I have been woken up at 6am by drunk people yelling at the top of their lungs outside our building. I actually had to step outside once to make sure there was no domestic violence type issue going on because a girl was screaming bloody murder--- there wasn't, she was just intoxicated. I've seen people literally passed out on the stairs outside my apartment, sometimes with a blanket, once without pants fully on (yes, it happened). No idea who these people are.

There are cigarette butts all over the stairs, empty beer cans/bottles, and random trash (ie: fast food wrappers/bags) on my building. In my two years of living here, they sent one notice to warn all the residents that if we don't clean up after ourselves (the cigarette butts), all residents of this building would be fined. Again-- poor regulation and utterly poor enforcement of the few rules that do exist.

Overall, the apartment itself isn't in terrible shape. The management was really nice and it was 5 min away from my school, which was nice. The first year wasn't too bad, but this year has been ridiculous. I would never recommend this place to any classmate or colleague. Find a different place--live 15 min away from BCOM if The Flats are full. The unpredictability of this place when it comes to noise levels, lack of rules and regulation governing hundreds of young students, and random/bizarre things happening is absolutely...
