They are very busy and popular and you only have 2hrs to order and cook and eat your food so if you go in a group of 4 or more make sure you use the tablet and order the meat in multiple quantities. 1 is equal to 1 thin slice of meat so you should press 40 pieces and cook the meat all at once and keep it to the side of the heat plate. The center is so hot that the meat will stick and burn if you try to cook small amounts of meat. With large amount of meat you can place it towards the side then work your way to the center while constantly flipping it. Once the juices start to come out it gets easier to cook in the center without over cooking it. If you order seafood like shrimp, place them on the side after you cook the meat. Once the shrimp turns red on one side flip it over until it's red all over. Their shrimps are pretty big. Fish also should be cooked on the sides. Vegetable can be placed in the center for 2 min and flip for 2 min they cook fast so they should be last thing to cook. If you get soup you can order Vegetable and noodles to place in the pot. Cook on med heat because it will get so hot you won't be able to eat the soup without burning your mouth. If it's your first time there the server takes your soup order if you get both bbq and soup. Server also brings you the drinks. There also a salad bar that you can get fruits, sauce and kimche from. Everything else you will have to use the tablet. Remember 1 is equal to 1 piece of what you order. The tablet will have a time on it since you only have 2hrs to eat. The time starts once you place your first order. You can order many times as you want if you can cook and eat fast enough lol. I definitely ate my money's worth. It is all you can eat so order allot and stay cooking fast. You should have 1 person from each side to help cook the food so you can try to eat everything on the menu. My group of 4 ate everything. Also if you have a group of 4 and 1 person in that group happens to be their birthday, they get to eat for free. You just have to let them know and show them your ID before you get your bill. You can't beat that. So my wife got to eat for free that day and she loved it. She ate so much she couldn't even get up lol. Also you can get some icecream cup to go when you leave. If you still have room for it lol. Since they are so busy sometime the people that cones around to change the hot plate don't actually get there when you have over cooked your food and the plate is starting to smoke allot. That's when you have to speak up and get your server to get them to change the plate. If it is smoking too much and your server isn't anywhere to be found, you can turn off the burner by pressing the off button located under the outside of the table. Leave the fan on and turn off the burner. You will see the buttons for which is which. Then get them to change the plate and turn the burner back on and start cooking again. Plate will smoke allot if you burn your meat or if you add sauce to your meat and place on burner i advice cooking it on the sides so it won't burn so much. That's the only draw back to this place because they are so busy they don't come to change the plate until you leave but if it stays to smoke like hell Remember to turn burner off and fan on until they charge it, otherwise you will smoke out the whole restaurant lol. I have seen it done there that day lol. I also wished they had beef short ribs(galbi) which they don't. Also if you don't like the smell or taste of seaweed don't get the Japanese soup. Always ask your server what's in the soup. You can order the noodles and veggies and other stuff that you can place in the soup but always ask what's in...
Read moreThis 1 Star rating is reflecting the experience as whole, which unfortunately ended with the defining frustration situation.
The food quality was good. Ordering is too easy via an iPad and food came out quickly. Variety is ok, certainly enough for a dinner.
Unfortunately, the server suddenly appeared saying we had only 15 Minutes left - while for the most part prior they were difficult to find when needed and we had to get up and find them. Suddenly because we enjoyed our time as I’m sure they would want any guest to. I realized that 15 Minutes would place our seating time at 7:20p. However, I knew that we couldn’t have been seated much before 5:30p. Total “dining time” is said to be 2h. At exactly 7:20p another waitress pops up and in a super unfriendly manner says we’re already over time and (quote) “…and we need the table”. It’s been sometime since I was at a place where staff were this crass. I mentioned that we could not have been seated before 5:30p, and so we’re not on overtime. Her response was even more impatient and very unfriendly. I immediately felt taken aback.
Meanwhile, a table of six next to us was also still sitting, and they had already been eating when we walked in - no sign of them being rushed!
How frustrating! It took some time for service to explain how things worked at the start, but no mention when the 2h time window commenced! One would think that it would be interpreted slightly in the favor of the guest - at least at first visit! While we were still ordering and eating, a 15 Minute warning - when it was too early anyways - was not only not enough, but rudely delivered and invalidated the fun, enjoyable time we had right until then.
The orders placed via the iPad have a time stamp. I placed the first order 5:35p, while service was still explaining, to get going. So we were seated just about around 5:30p. According to the fun waitress that ruined my appetite for another visit, we were already way overtime at 7:20p. Assuming way overtime for their attitude means 5-10 Minutes, according to he we would have had to be seated at 5:10p. We parked at 5:25. Plus her argumentative, competitive response to my objection made me feel that spicy bulgogi.
For first time visitors allowing a 2h window of ‘inside the restaurant’ does not qualify as ‘2h dining’. It makes no sense whatsoever to leave this definition open and then push us around according to how busy the place is. So frustrating.
As we left, there was one party waiting, not one person outside, and three tables open that had left around our leaving.
For this nuisance the rating is 1 Star. No matter how good the food, Korean pop the music or how fun the birthday song is - if you can’t manage and unload stress and frustration at your paying guests expense, the rating will be such.
2h of seating, from sitting down to getting up, is a good amount, if everyone knows what they’re doing. If this restaurant wants a 90 Minutes window, like so many other places, it might be better to say so openly rather than attempting to guilt and...
Read moreThis was our second time visiting K-Pot. The first time was during lunch, it was such a great experience that my husband wanted to return for his birthday.
Unfortunately, this visit was the complete opposite.
The only positive thing I can give is that cleanup service was quick and our table was cleared fast. When it came to actual service, however it was terrible. At one point, our plate was smoking so badly it was almost burning. Three different staff members including our waitress, walked right by it saw it and did nothing. Our server also never once came by to offer a refill until I was completely finished the hot pot burner was turned off, and everything was done.
From the very beginning, when I asked for a simple refill of the soup instead of all the other items that comes in The first fill one, I was told flat out it couldn’t be done (even though that is literally part of her job to give the refills) She continually ignored our table while handling every other one around us. She walked past us several times but only went to service the other tables, especially the white customers sitting right next to us. It was uncomfortable and made what should have been a celebration feel terrible.
As we finished, she randomly asked if we wanted another Pepsi. We had only ordered water, and when we reminded her of that she simply said “oh yeah, you guys didn’t do it” and walked away, without ever offering to refill our actual drinks.
It’s disappointing because the first server we had made such a lasting impression that he even remembered me and greeted me when I walked in this time. I wish we could have been seated in his section again. Sadly, this birthday dinner ended up leaving us feeling ignored and unwelcome.
I do not recommend this place. If you are looking for a good Hot Pot Place please got to Top Pot Korean in Delran, NJ You get better service, better food, better...
