Cloud City Castle — Hotel in Leadville

The Cloud City Castle truly lives up to its name. I had the pleasure of enjoying both the luxurious West Wing King room and the voluptuous Royal Blue Queen room. The West king bed is like floating on a cloud in front of the coziest glow of a fire at the foot, and during the full moon last night, the royal blue queen was basked in supple, bosomous moon beams through the Victorian porthole observation window. This was a ritual mountain retreat weekend for me, and the Cloud City Castle provided a celestial suit of armor around our perfect Leadville weekend. My family of 14 recently stayed here during an emergency issue at our other rental (there was a gas leak.) We were booked in for one night but contacted the company to see if we could extend our stay due to safety issues returning to the other rental. They accommodated and were wonderful. The house was perfect and spacious. There was plenty of room to spread out. I wish I would have booked the house to begin with but due to it saying "dog friendly" and me not being "dog friendly" I did not book. I cannot say enough good things about the Cloud City Castle. The location is amazing, the beds and linens are so comfortable, and the host is superb! The house has a fascinating history, and a stunning exterior! It has full laundry and kitchen amenities, stacks of board games and it is walking distance to Main Street. Sitting in the hot tub under the stars is a perfect way to end the day, there are even heated ground mats to and from the hot tub, to avoid cold feet in the snow!
