Donât even think about coming in here with a service animal! I was chased out by an older woman who demanded I leave because of my service dog. I was traveling, It was freezing outside and I needed to feed my service animal and get myself some coffee. This woman ran around from the counter and got right in my face and said my dog had to go outside. I explained he is my service animal with a vest and clearly labeled SERVICE ANIMAL, she said no outside! I informed what she was doing was against the law, I said very calmly. she still insisted, and went on and on about how so many people come into the building that are not âreally service animalsâ I let her know and showed that he was in fact a service dog. After that I explained that refusal of service to me was illegal and discriminatory she then(not sincere in my opinion) start to apologize, âI donât want to be accused of breaking the lawâ with a rude and sarcastic tone. I was so shocked by her aggressive, rude behavior I very quickly and politely left the building. She didnât have to get in my face. My service animal and I donât stay where we are not wanted. Whatâs a really sad is how often I do have to leave my dog in car for places I know will cause a problem. I try so hard to be respectful. I BELIEVE I WAS DISCRIMINATED AGAINST AND WAS REFUSED...
Read moreVery nice coffee shop in downtown Leadville I came here several times in the days leading up to the Leadville 100 trail race (friend was running, I was supporting). We worked from here during the mornings - good free wifi, comfortable seating for working, outlets, and cheap coffee refills (you can skip the counter for coffee and coffee refill orders if you have cash!). It did get very busy with a line almost out the door every morning and it can be quite loud inside. The decor is quite fun and they have merch for sale as well. They have a large assortment of food & baked goods including gluten free and vegan options. I got the vegan pumpkin pecan bread slices several times (same vegan option all week, where is the variety?!). The other option was a vegan fruit bran muffin, for baked goods. Also tried the vegan breakfast burrito which is small but tasty! Lattes were pretty good, not amazing. I did try the Cafe Florentine one day - I don't usually like my lattes sweet but this was very good! Heads up, you will pay $1 extra for oat, soy, almond milk...

Tasty fresh brewed coffee in a warm gathering space dominated by the hues of many woods and the smell of really fresh beans. As with any coffee shop there is a cast of characters, but Leadville itself is another level. You'll see top hats and cowboy hats alike here along with the studious, the smarmy, and the occasional strange. A statewide top ten venue for people watching. Many unique birds with royal plumage and bedeviling songs roost here.
I really like the selection of sandwiches pastries and crudites for munching on. Fresh fare! And if coffee is not your brew of choice, make sure to look for kombucha and other alternatives behind the counter.
The staff has always been so nice to me. They keep it very clean and have delivered my requisitions promptly. And always with kind smiles.
I look forward to...
