OWNER UNHINGED!! The single rudest owner-treatment of a customer I’ve ever seen or experienced…anywhere in my life, in any one of the ~20 countries I’ve traveled, stayed and eaten in. After asking if we could order sandwiches without bread…and they have only 1 bowl on the menu…we were told they absolutely do not make breadless sandwiches, that they only do one thing, and then we were told to leave and go elsewhere. But wait - it gets worse - in front of my wife and 5yo son, the owner grabbed the metal table-number marker and threw it - literally threw it - down on the counter. Could have hit our kid. Unreal!! Stay away or… if you decide to brave the terrain and come anyway…don’t ask annnny questions because you never know what is going to completely set off this unhinged lady!! She confirmed she’s the owner, and she should seriously question her decision to work in the hospitality industry if she can’t handle customer questions! I’ve worked off and on in food service for 20+ years and have fielded all kinds of questions and have politely declined my share of customer requests many times. No excuse whatsoever for this type of...
Read moreCuban coffee was good as well as food. The gentleman at the window was generally polite. Surprised to be told the outdoor space was not dog friendly while waiting in line. Perhaps living in Denver and having just come from dog-friendly towns makes me biased. There should be some type of signage advising of this policy rather than making for an awkward experience. I read the owner’s replies to other comments and understand some people do not like dogs, but that is a weak case. I don’t like children whose parents let them misbehave at restaurants - do you then not permit children? I know a few people ruin it for most, but respond to these few incidents. Other complaints for this establishment were responded to with ad hominem arguments rather than substance (I’m expecting a similar reply). If I had read the reviews prior to visiting, the owner’s cavalier responses would have likely influenced me to go elsewhere. If you’re looking for a quick bite to eat then I’d recommend the cafe, but it isn’t worth going out of your way to enjoy. I spent almost $15 for a sandwich and small coffee, which is average to other...
Read moreI was apprehensive to come here after reading the reviews, but decided to give it a try. It says online you can add lettuce or tomato to any sandwich. I wanted to add both, but asked if the lettuce could be on the side. I was told no. Then I asked if the lettuce could be put on after it’s pressed so it wouldn’t get hot and soggy, and I was also told no. She actually said to me that the lettuce was definitely “going to be warm and soggy.” So I said no thanks to the lettuce. The sandwich by itself was $15 (no side or chips or anything) and upon getting my receipt I see I was charged $2 for adding the tomato. If you’re going to upcharge for something, let the customer know beforehand. I definitely would not have paid an extra $2 for a few slices of tomato (especially since I asked to remove an ingredient—onion—from the original sandwich). The sandwich tasted good, but unfortunately the poor customer service and price gauging made my review go from ...
