Scarlet Tavern — Restaurant in Leadville

Date of visit / Jan 10th, 2024. This is the bar for you if you are looking for a smashed bartender that’s verbally abusive. Don’t purchase anything here until you get a feel for the bartenders mood or level of drunkenness. The bartender demanded ID from my 24yr old son and when he provided his valid drivers license the drunk bartender bent it, claimed it was a fake and that he was an expert. He then kicked everyone out after they paid for a round of drinks and a round of pool. He apparently does not like tourists who simply want a drink and want to experience the charms of Leadville. This is a very sad excuse for a bar Stopped in for a few drinks with a friend and was appaled with the service and cliendiness of this estasblishment. First off we waited nearly 30 minuets for 2 beers while the bartender was busy playing videogames with his kids in the back. He finally got up to the bar he reeked of alcholol and smelled like he hadnt showered in days. We got our beers and there were straight up lip marks on my buddies glass not to mention the bar itself was sticky and wet. Had a great experience before a shift change in bartenders then it all went downhill. She deliberately skipped over me and my husband on separate occasions to take care of regulars and employees then rolled her eyes when she got my order wrong. Really loved the place and the atmosphere up until this bartender came along.
