The entire property is essentially dilapidated, i am not kidding. The whole exterior & interior are extremely outdated and in horrible very overly used conditions. The staff around the building are extremely rude, and aggressive. They are very bothered if you even say hello. The type of tenant crowd you will see there, is not normal & you will be stared down by other tenants and feel like you have to be ready to fight. you will feel unsafe. The room, blood spatter, pubic hairs, general old nasty stains on walls and doors. The room smelled like a bar from the 90s,very like a cigarette. I do not smoke, this potent smell alone made me sick. The ac unit barely worked. The toilet rocked and the tub looked so old, i can't imagine someone using it. The room is open to the public as soon as you walk out, the windows are essentially walked past by other tenants & staff so you cant open your shades etc. Its dark and dingy. I lasted 15 min in this extremely dirty place and i left, gave the key back. It was the worst experience, do not at all go here. This is a "motel" and what you imagine..deffinatlly happens here. You can see it in the other clients. When I arrived, there were cops and a room tenant getting kicked out and about 10 big stinky old suitcases in the lobby. Some kid with bad tattoos expressed he is the worker behind the counters boy friend, how can he help me? I should of just left, a waste of 60 dollars as no call back or anything from the fake customer service number they gave me. I was literally ripped off, do not go her if you are a normal person. This is a crime laden very sketchy place complete with the crowd that will brake into your car etc. This is a "MOTEL" not a Hotel.

I’ve utilized this hotel many times over the past several years, it is very basic but does the job if needing somewhere to sleep if staying in Chicago area and not wanting to spend a lot of money. However, just be aware that there’s often cops and sketchy stuff going on in this lot. Other things to note: -you might want to bring extra pillows because they only give 2 per bed whereas most hotels give 4 per bed -see photo: gaps in curtains so I used a hotel hanger to clip curtains closed -very very loud airplanes overhead because of close proximity to O’Hare airport so you may want to bring earplugs. Super cool views of planes though. -free parking, but need to get a parking pass at front desk -$15 early check in fee if you check in before 3pm which they didn’t tell me about until they started charging me but thankfully I noticed it in time and said I would just come back later to avoid the fee (unprofessional to not be up front with customers about fees) -very very basic rooms; you may want to bring an extension cord or surge protector etc because there’s not many outlets to charge phone etc -but yes this location is one of my go-to locations when needing somewhere inexpensive to stay around Chicago area but not gonna lie it’s kind of sketchy Also, forgot to take a pic of it but the toilet seat in room 128 was peeling off and had what was presumably poopstains from past guests stuck in the peeling parts. Please replace that toilet seat. Tacky for a business to not upkeep and to just use old products to save money.

Don’t do it. Pay a little more money and find a different place to stay. The first thing I noticed was the multiple families hanging out in their rooms with their doors open, seemingly like they lived there vs just visiting. Never a good sign. The door didn’t fully seal so the fumes from the gardener’s leaf blower came right into the room to compete with the cigarette smoke that permeated the walls. (There is a window, but there’s no real way to open it as it opens to another window.) The smell of smoke was so bad that there was no way to get used to it and my clothes reeked of smoke by the time I left. The toilet wasn’t cleaned… or flushed for that matter (yes, there was still contents in the toilet bowl.) And the toilet seat felt like it was about to fall off. Both the bathroom sink and bathtub had no drain stoppers. The internet didn’t connect to the TV, so all that was left to watch was basic cable. The pillows were lumpy and uncomfortable. And there was literal writing on the door. The owner/manager of this place obviously doesn’t care about their guests or cleanliness of their establishment and prefers to make their money through long-term residents. I don’t have any positive things to say about this place.

Motel 6 Schiller Park, IL - Chicago O'Hare||1 night • 1 adult • 1 room||||||Anders L||Sheboygan, WI 53083 USA ||||My HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE of checking into the : Motel 6 - Schiller Park, IL - Chicago O'Hare Hotel with a 30 second room stay and run from a unhealthy cleaning practices !!! NO REFUND !!! ||||||I arrived at 2:10 PM and was told I have to pay a $60 early check- in fee. I asked what is the normal check- in time ??? FRONT DESK GIRL at the front desk said 3:00 PM. I said seriously you are going to charge me for 45 minutes early check- in ???||||I received the (2) keys to Room 145. I drove around the property and found to be DRUG ADDICTS and HOMELESS SANCTUARY on the the property and rooming around !!! ||I parked my car and saw needles laying in the parking lot and smelled Marijuana stench and people staring at me with their doors opened. Some of the rooms had dogs barking and seemed to be a sanctuary for pets and questionable people !! ||||At this point it looked like a very dangerous property - UNSAFE LOCATION !!! ||I proceeded to enter the Room 145. Opening the door, it smelled like CAT URINE all over the room to the point I couldn’t handle the smell. Looked into the bathroom and toilet was unflushed with URINE in it !!! ||||(I ONLY STAYED FOR 30 SECONDS) and immediately left Room 145 and closed the door !!! Proceeded to the front desk to complain to the front desk Girl about Room 145 and heavy CAT URINE smell and I felt very very UNSAFE ON THIS PROPERTY LOCATION !!! ||I demanded my money back FULL REFUND for the CAT URINE SMELLS and clearly the room was not cleaned and had the TOILET FULL OF URINE AND UNFLUSHED !!! ||FRONT DESK GIRL - said unfortunately we have no refunds !! I said I walked into the room for 30 SECONDS and immediatley had to leave because of the CAT URINE SMELLS and TOILET FULL OF URINE AND UNFLUSHED !!! I demanded my FULL MONEY BACK immediately for UNHEALTHY CONDITIONS OF THE GUEST ROOM 145. She said take it up with their corporate MOTEL 6 OFFICE !!! ||||This property is a (SCAMMER PROPERTY TAKING YOUR $$$$$) and they are fully aware of the UNHEALTHY CONDITIONS OF THE GUEST ROOMS and CLEANING STANDARDS with a NO...

1 star is generous, unfortunatley it won't let me give 0.||||WORST HOTEL EVER, DO NOT BOOK!! Often I see reviews like this and think 'it can't be that bad, it's just a bed to sleep in'.. trust me, it can. Awful from start to finish. RUDE horrible reception staff (female, won't mention name but rhymes with Sia) from check in, non-smoking room STANK of smoke and a musty stale smell. Aeroplanes going overhead every 30 secs (not their fault but impossible to sleep). People smoking weed/arguing outside your door. ||||We asked to move rooms and were told we exceeded the 15min reporting time (this is not stated anywhere and was a blatant lie and how ridiculous that they expect you to get back to reception within 15 mins - we were debating whether we could put up with it but also frantically trying to find somewhere local for dinner before everywhere shut within the hour as we arrived in the vening). ||||Receptionist refused us to move rooms as said they had none available, yet loads on booking.com. Told us to speak to manager and was our own fault for not researching the hotel better (how they could blame us I don't know).. then gave us a fake email and a phone number for reception where manager was not even on shift and it just went back to the miserable girl. ||||Then told us we could move rooms (despite saying they had no spare rooms) only to put us in another smelly one, then finally gave us a better smelling room as a last resort as they refused to refund us (which is just awful) yet there were black hairs all in the bed and we had to sleep fully clothed on top of the sheets and felt sooo dirty and gross!!! We beared two nights there as everything else cost $400+ but I was willing to pay any amount of money to avoid it if they hadn't found us a room that smelt remotely acceptable (which she had clearly just ran around with antibac spray).||||Please please please do not give these people your money or custom, they are rude, obnoxious, have the worst customer service and I would rather have slept in a dog kennel, outside,...

During my recent stay at Motel 6, I had the pleasure of interacting with two outstanding staff members — the security guard and the front desk receptionist on the late-night shift. Both were incredibly respectful, considerate, and engaging. The receptionist, in particular, demonstrated exceptional professionalism. He spoke kindly to every guest who walked in and made sure everyone felt welcome and heard. When I encountered an issue checking into my prepaid room, he was the one who resolved it quickly and efficiently.

Unfortunately, my experience with the manager earlier that evening was quite the opposite. She was dismissive, unhelpful, and seemed more focused on her phone than on assisting guests. Despite having all my booking details, she refused to check me in due to a misplaced ID (understandably) and made no effort to explore solutions. Aside from that, she was aware that I am homeless and was stranded in an area I’ve never been. Her lack of empathy and professionalism was disheartening — especially when I had already paid for the room. And just to make things clear, she was willing to take my money and put me out because she didn’t feel like typing my ID credentials in from a photo to check me in. It was that simple to resolve my problem.

What stood out most was the difference in attitude and effort between her and the gentleman who relieved her at 10. He was attentive, solution-oriented, and genuinely cared about guest satisfaction. I witnessed several guests leave due to the manager’s unwillingness to assist, while the night receptionist worked diligently to help everyone.

In my opinion, the late-night receptionist exemplifies the kind of leadership this location needs. He created a safe, welcoming, and respectful environment — everything a guest should expect. I strongly believe he would be an excellent choice for a...
