MOD Pizza is the best pizza place I've been in in a very long time. I can't state that enough in this review. I went into the Liberty shop and I'll admit I was skeptical at first but as soon as I saw the line up of pizzas offered and all the things you could put on a pizza I was impressed. I got even more impressed when I saw they had my favorite mineral water in a bottle along with beer by the bottle and on tap. This I feel is a game changer for those who don't want to go to a bar for food yet want a beer over some food. I also saw wine in soft drink cans. Topping it all off is the dessert the No Name Cake which is basically a Ding Dong with a thick coat of real chocolate and a real whipped cream center. These things are great! Now for the pizza. It's baked in a brick fire oven in about 10 minutes at the most and taste very good. The crust is a medium between thick and thin crust and the crust is very good too. Not too crunchy and not too soft. I basically got the meat lovers the two times I went in and both times I got a great pizza. As for sitting there's a lot of it and the island in the middle of the store has a lot of drinks to choose from as well as parmesan cheese, red pepper flakes and salt and pepper to choose from to put on your pizza. They even offer to go boxes if you don't eat all your pizza. Now the final thing that makes this pizza shop good is that you don't have to eat just pizza. You can have a salad only too. So if you're a vegan in a family of meat eaters who demand it on their pizza you have options. To finish up the staff was very nice and professional and the shop was very clean. I would give this pizza shop 10 stars if I could. I think you'll like it if you want a good pizza in a great environment for a very reasonable cost. I spent $20 for two people with No Name Cake for each and drinks along with a large pizza. MOD Pizza is now my go to pizza shop and I think it'll be yours too once...
Read moreFrom five stars to one star... Since I found out how great MOD Pizza tastes, I started eating here regularly for the past week. Today I happened to forget my ID and wanted a beer with lunch. Even though another employee vouched for me, the cashier wouldn't sell me the alcohol. She said it's illegal to sell to somebody without an ID. I can understand her not selling me the beer because of the liabilities connected with it, but I can't handle it when I'm lied to. I calmly told her I would research that information to see if it truly is a law, and if she was lying to me then I would write a one-star review. I write both good AND bad reviews. I called the Liberty Police Department because the Health Department was closed due to it being a Saturday (the only reason I knew to try the health department is because she rudely said, "the health department is right over there! " with a finger pointed to the rear of the store. Blew my mind). The police department told me that it's not illegal to sell alcohol to somebody without an ID. They can refuse to sell it, but it's not illegal if I'm of legal age. It's only illegal to sell to a minor. This confirms that she was lying to me. Also, when I was expressing my concerns to Dalton, she turned around, interrupted me, and started becoming very defensive and unprofessional. I don't see how she wasn't embarrassed with a store full of people. Horrible customer service. It was a larger girl, possibly Latino or Samoan with dark hair. Suffice it to say that I won't be going back to this location. I would also like to note that as a self-starter and successful business owner, I can recognize potential. Keep an eye on Trevor, he is without a doubt an upcoming leader. I would terminate the girl or keep her in the back away from customers.
Excellent customer service Angelica, Trevor, and Dalton! The food is...
Read moreUpon entering MOD (Liberty, MO) just past 12:00pm today, the location was clean and operating well. July 19 Clay County issued a mask mandate requiring face masks and coverings to be worn in all indoor areas of public accommodation. This decision was made due to the rapid increase in the number of COVID-19 cases and hospitalizations of Clay County residents in recent weeks. Signs were visible at the entrance and inside the establishment indicating social distancing and mask wearing guidelines.
One couple walked in behind us, not complying with mask wearing guidelines. At the ordering counter, the two were told they would need to follow the guidelines in order to receive service. He began yelling at the female employee berating her and shouting profanities at the staff. The staff calmly and politely asked the couple to leave the establishment. Shortly after, another male patron took off his mask and began screaming profanities at patrons. He was also asked to leave before placing his order.
The four all female staff at MOD kept cool under pressure. They were respectful of all other patrons (children were in the establishment during the incident), and were very apologetic. The staff at this location today was top notch, and steadfast. In a situation where it would have been easy to get upset, they all held it together as a team. Nicely...
