Olive Garden used to be a favorite. We went last night after the first time in several years. Our last experience was catering, so it was not reflective of the dine in experience. There was minimal wait, only table prep time. The restaurant was not very busy as many tables were open. Our server, or at least who I thought was our server, was very kind. We had at least 2 other people attend to our table, which seemed to lead to some confusion and almost receiving 2 rounds of refills. I forgot to order an appetizer and had not seen our server so I placed that order through the kiosk. I truly don’t like those because if you have a server that you tip for server but have to use a kiosk it makes it seem like a fast food experience. I also question how secure these things are being unattended at tables is an open invitation to skimmers. Our food was ok at best, breadsticks were overdone. Calamari was good according to the ones that ate it. Salad and soup were good. Entrees were a bit of a different story. Chicken fingers were dry, fries were overcooked. Chicken fettuccini, the noodles were undercooked and many stuck together. Spaghetti with meat sauce had some overcooked noodles and some with dried and hard ends, so you know they were sticking to the edge of a pan sitting pre-prepared (think buffet spaghetti) we ordered dessert which was entered on the kiosk by our server as a separate check unable to be combined and paid together. While it’s not a huge deal it does take away from a nicer dining experience with hefty prices and expectations of a tip, the fact that at the end of our meal we weren’t provided a physical bill or directed to the kiosk. While I was aware of its purpose, the lack of addressing the kiosk or offering an alternative option was just another annoyance of the experience or lack thereof. Most dishes are wildly overpriced for what they are. $20+ for most dishes is wild. Overall, it seemed like a buffet level of service, just ok food with a hefty price tag, and no mints. Unfortunately, this was probably our final visit like with many other...
Read moreMy son insisted on going to Olive Garden so since we were celebrating end of school year we went! After always being disappointed in the taste and quality of food, we thought we would give Olive Garden another chance. Unfortunately this Liberty location there were some problems when we went. There were 4 greeters or servers at the door when we walked in. Not one said hi, they were all staring at the seating chart. Finally a nice lady came out to greet us, likely a manager who we never saw again, she may have been leaving. Finally seated around 4:20 p.m. Not too many people there. Menu seemed to be scaled way back from what I recall, to just simple pasta dishes which should take minutes to plate. After getting our salad and breadsticks, we finally got our food maybe 30 minutes later. My son didn't ever get his 2 sides for child's plate. I didn't get my glass of wine until the end. Server disappeared, unfortunately had a rough shift I believe. Another server took over. That experienced server could have taken care of the whole back room (but there again were like 4 servers back there), so not sure how each server cannot take care of 2 or 3 tables. My husband's steak was small but actually cooked correctly. His pasta serving was SMALL...smaller than my child's pasta portion, so for almost $18, I'd rather go have a steak dinner. I ordered zuppa tuscana, but a chicken gnocchi was brought to me. The chicken gnocchi soup tasted like there was chunks of canned chicken in there. We left at nearly 6 p.m. It was quite an experience. This is why I normally eat at home-food is way better. So my family and I will not be returning. We do, however, support local restaurants whose food is flavorful and fresh and all staff take pride in working there. I really cannot believe Olive Garden survived the pandemic. I don't see Olive Garden lasting. They would REALLY have to step it up and...
Read moreMy family (I, my wife and mother-in-law) had a great experience at Olive Garden this past Sunday, October 30, 2022. Our server was very attentive and kind. The food was good, but what really was a pleasant surprise is that they had vegetables at no extra cost. You see, we eat a whole food plant based diet as much as possible. So, what that means is we don't eat meat and we try to eat as many whole plants as possible. So just to give my wife a break after a very busy weekend, I suggested that we go to Olive Garden for their 'All You Can Eat' pasta deal. It's a good value and in this economy, who couldn't use a good value. To our amazement, our server explained to us that they had vegetables options, not just meat. Our ears perked up and we ordered pasta with various vegetables. The thing that most impressed me was the ample portions of vegetables. Most restaurants, when you order vegetables, the portions just aren't generous. Well, the portions at Olive Garden were generous. The broccoli was big, the red and orange bell peppers were big. The only vegetable that wasn't big was the asparagus, but I was just happy that they had it as an option. We left happy campers, very satisfied. We hadn't been to Olive Garden in awhile, but this was a...
